Best sushi I’ve ever had, fresh, delicious and beautiful presentation… Yuki, Kin, Mitz and Benny are awesome. Had a great dinner experience!

Ok, so I’ve been coming here for a long time because the food is great and it’s right across the street from where I live. But tonight, I thought I would order some sushi to go since I was flying solo, tired, and just wanted to eat it at home. I came in and placed a to-go order and asked the server how long it would take. The server asks the head chef, he looks up at me and tells her 45 minutes. 45 minutes? Keep in mind, they are not busy at all. Even on a busy night, I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes for sushi there(sitting down). So I was taken back, and asked her why it would take so long especially since they were not that busy. She says«it just depends.» Then, another server comes up and says, «don’t mind him, it won’t take that long,» like she knew that he was just being grumpy. So then I asked both servers how long they think it would actually take, 10, 15, 20 minutes? And then the first server goes and asks the head chef again! «45 minutes!!» I said, I can’t sit here for 45 minutes for a to-go order, that’s ridiculous. She says, «you want to cancel then?» I said, of course. She gives me a big smile and says, «thank you, bye bye now!» But what the whole experience said to me was, «please leave and stop annoying us with your stupid to-go order, we don’t want your business anymore!» My self respect will prevent me from ever going there again. Bummer.

How long does it take to cook Nabeyaki Udon? I’m buying a house in Yorba Linda and we were waiting for the home inspector to finish(2 hours plus) So let’s have lunch! I’ve had this place bookmarked forever and it was close by, so off we went. It was packed when we got there at noon. We got the corner seats at the sushi bar, Yes! Placed an order of Chirashi Bowl for me and Nabeyaki Udon for the boy. I got the Chirashi within 5 minutes. Waited, waited, 10 minutes Flagged down a waitress: «They’re cooking it, it takes long time» ok. I eat my food, finish my food. Waited some more, flagged down the waitress again, «it’s coming» Customer(who arrived 10 min after us) seated a few seats from us gets his food(but not his friend). He get Nabeyaki Udon. Our’s must be next. Waited some more, flagged down the waitress again, «it’s coming» I asked her, why did he get his udon before us? «You order before him?» Body slam, choke hold, finger to the eyes, kick to the groin, etc etc… No I didn’t do that to her, I wanted to though. What is wrong with YOULADY!!! Rundown: Chirashi Bowl: 7 pieces of fish. Seared albacore, octopus, salmon, snapper, egg and 2 tuna. It was okay. The mushrooms with it was great. I also liked that the rice was sushi rice. Price was reasonable Parking was small and tight. Oh, the answer to my question: I don’t know? Because at the 40 minutes mark, we walked out! My son was hungry and he wanted out of there. Service: TERRIBLE! You lost this customer!

We are super picky sushi customers. The food was fresh, tasty, authentic and out of this world excellent. Soft shell crab was delicious. Also had the Chilean sea bass as sashimi … The best we’ve ever consumed. From the oysters to the toro everything we ate was superb. We’ve been on the hunt for a really good sushi restaurant and we finally found a gem ! Cannot go wrong with this place !

Came here for a quick dinner — it was pretty quick, since we were in and out about 30 minutes. Got the sushi boat for two people, $ 38, 12 pieces of nigiris, California roll, and assorted sashimi. It also came with miso soup which was pretty good and not too salty as well as a refreshing cucumber salad. The rice on the sushi looked different than other places it almost a hint of brown color? Overall, it was pretty decent and so was the fish.

As a retired Marine having served in MCAS Iwakini Japan 岩国 日本, I can honestly say I really miss being there. I miss the culture, the people and the food. Now that I’m living in Anaheim Hills, I have a lot of opportunities to dine at Asian restaurants. Of course I prefer Japanese. I walked in and was invited to sit down at the bar. I noticed the place was clean and tidy and ready for business. Nice music was playing in the background. I noticed one of the sushi chefs name is Yuki. I knew he had to be Japanese, so I greeted him and asked how he was doing in the Japanese. Yuki San 雪さん replied in Japanese and asked how I was doing and so I replied back in Japanese as well. Then the waitress, Marisa San マリサ さん presented me with a menu. She asked if I wanted something to drink. In Japanese I asked if she had Nihon cha(Japanese tea) and she replied and said they do have Japanese tea. Then I asked for a sushi menu and was quick to get me one. I ordered the Bento combo ‘A’ and got the beef entrée. The beef was very… delicious!!! Then I ordered octopus, squid and tuna sushi. It was also very good and very fresh! While eating I had a simple conversation with Yuki San and he asked me how I know how to speak Japanese and so we talked about that. After finishing my lunch, they took my dishes away and refilled my green tea. I highly recommend Yosuke Sushi to anyone who wants some good food, good atmosphere and good people!!! I look forward to coming back again soon! ありがとうございます!!!*\(^o^)/*

Still the best sushi I’ve ever had, the tuna rose is always a crowd favorite(not just for me but for the people watching the order being made, too). Not to discount my thoughts on this place but I haven’t tried too many other sushi spots in SoCal. However, Yosuke easily trumps anything you can get in Chicago. I really love how fresh everything tastes, so great. Also, the service is fantastic if you get a seat at the bar. Mitz is hilarious, as are the other chefs. Great spot, anytime I’m in the area, I will be back!

Stopped by Yosuke when we decided we wanted to grab a some what healthy dinner. Not the usual greasy food we would go for on a lazy night though Costco was a lead contender for dinner. We arrive around 6PM and there were only two small tables and a couple at the sushi bar. Once seated, our drink orders were promptly taken and we were left to review the menu. Instead of getting a sushi boat as we originally planned, we went with two sushi combos. More specifically a 10 piece Sushi Combo with a California Roll and a 7 piece combo with a Spicy Tuna Roll. You get more food at a better price. For $ 19.99, the Deluxe Sushi Combination came with Octopus, Salmon, Tuna, Red Snapper, Yellowtail, Tamago, Shrimp, Albacore, Masago, and Uni. Each combo also comes with Miso Soup and Cucumber Sunomono. The Nigiri Combo had its ups and downs with stand outs being the Masago, Uni, Albacore, and Tamago. The Masago wasn’t overly salty like some I’ve recently had, the Tamago was airy with the perfect amount of sweetness, and the Uni with its perfect creamy texture. The other Nigiri’s were forgettable with the exception of the Tuna being absolutely horrid. Tough and flavorless, its makes me wonder how long its been sitting in the fridge. The California Roll really shouldn’t need to be mentioned but its typical for restaurants to mess this up my adding too much rice or crab. The large California Roll I received with my combo had a perfect ratio where there was the right amount of rice to balance out the ample amount of imitation crab. Service was decent but should’ve been better with the amount of servers they had. We did get checked on a few times once we received our food but it took a good minute for them to take our order as well as bring out our bill when it was obvious that we finished eating.

Located in the plaza next to El Rancho MS pick up area, Yosuke Sushi is definitely worth the visit, especially if you go for lunch. It looks dark and closed from the outside, but it’s probably open. Upon entrance, they ask you if you would like a table or the sushi bar. The popular item on their lunch special menu would be the bento boxes. You have two options — A or B. With Special A, you get 1 entrée(about $ 9). With Special B, you get 2 entrée(about $ 12). Both come with rice, miso soup, salad, 4 pieces CA rolls, potato salad, 1 piece of chicken karage, and some fruit. Pretty good deal, right?! I ordered Special A with chicken terriyaki. My only gripe is that the chick was a bit burnt and charcoal tasting and I wish it had more terriyaki sauce too. Really, I would say this is a 3.5 stars, but I’ll round up to 4. You’ll definitely leave here full. Maybe try ordering something besides chicken terriyaki.

This was my second or third time dining at Yosuke’s. It’s a pretty good authentic Japanese sushi bar. It’s tucked away in a quaint and affluent neighborhood. There was a bit of a wait to get seated but I’m sure the wait is longer for peak lunch and dinner hours. I came here towards end of lunch. They offer lunch combinations in addition to their regular sushi menu. The fish is fresh here. Their tempura is pretty good and you can eat the fan-like flower shaped pieces(you’ll know what I’m referring to if you order tempura lol). The service is fast and friendly. Prices are comparable to OC sushi bars. I’m looking forward to going back again.

You get a lot for the price here. I got the lunch Yosuke Deluxe combo where it came with miso, rice, sashimi/sushi, california rolls, tempura, baked scallops, cucumber sunomono, seaweed only salad, grilled fish, and even ice cream! wow. The set kind of reminded me like they were trying to copy Sushi Gen in LA(the fish presentation, of course is nowhere near it). Most places, miso soup is junk and disappointing, but the miso soup here was very good! Hot tea was also good. The restaurant seemed bigger in pictures, but it’s not that big at all. I will definitely come back. I believe they are Japanese, which is pretty rare.

I found my OC sushi joint. I always go to Little Tokyo to find my sushi but this place is on point. This is NOT Korean owned, and it is REAL Japanese Owned! I am Korean and I do NOT like Korean sushi places, that is my preference. Fish quality is good here, and the sushi chef definitely gives u the japanese sushi chef experience. They are courteous and the service was great too. Very rare that I find a good sushi place out side of Little Tokyo.

Writing this review the day after going to Yosuke for dinner. Arrived at Yosuke Sushi around 6:45 on a Sunday night and placed my name on the waiting list. There were 5 groups ahead of me with group sizes ranging from 3 people to 6 people. I waited for about 15 – 20 minutes before I was seated at a table so the wait was not too long. Upon being seated, my party was left without being offered a menu and there was no menu to begin with on the table. This part was slightly off putting. After about 5 minutes, one of the wait staff asked if we had already ordered and I let them know that we were not given menus. They apologized and then remedied the problem and went on their way. This would have been a small issue but at the end of this exchange, the wait staff that was assigned to our table didn’t offer to start with any drinks and the end result was that another member of the wait staff had to take our drink orders. The follow up for the order placement was actually pretty prompt. The issue was the turnaround time. I understand that the sushi is made to order by the sushi chefs at the bar and that it takes time, however after placing my order, I waited roughly 30 minutes for my food and during this time, we were even approached by yet another member of the wait staff inquiring whether or not we had already placed my order. Kudos for that member for being attentive to the situation at hand. Something I did notice was that there was a wait staff member that seemed to walk around alot without getting much done. On even one occasion, one of the members in my party needed a couple extra napkins. This shouldn’t be too big of a request to satisfy, BUT that one member of the wait staff told us to wait a minute as he continued conversing with another member of the wait staff. This seemed a bit rude. I brushed off this instance thinking it was just administrative things that was being handled however towards the end of my meal there, the same member of the wait staff that told us to wait was once again conversing with another member of the staff and after conversing, took a quick walk around the front of house and then went back without doing anything. This action stood out like a sore thumb in a room that was packed full of patrons. The food in general was a-ok, we ordered a Yosuke Deluxe Super Chirashi Bowl, a regular Chirashi bowl, and a Sashimi plate. The quality of the fish tasted pretty fresh and the plating was decent. Overall the food was good but for the price that is offered, I feel that I have had better eating at other places. This might be because of the wait time and turnaround between ordering and eating or even the way the wait staff was towards taking care of customer requests. All in all, I think Yosuke is a decent establishment with good food but, there are some things that needs to be worked on such as wait staff operating procedure and how to handle customer requests.

This review is about my most recent visit last week during lunch with my coworker and boyfriend. We all ordered combonations and it’s the usual. Comes with soup, salad, rice, and your choice of 2 entrees, 4 pc. cali roll and fruits. My chicken teriyaki that I ordered was burnt and very dry that I ended up taking that to-go. My sashimi was not fresh whatsoever. Fish was very bland. Like my whitefish tasted the same as my tuna! Nothing really stood out to me besides their miso soup. Their miso soup is good though! While we were all conversating, enjoying our meal, having lunch, a bug flew(or fell) down and hit my coworkers forehead and landed right in front of her at the sushi bar. She asked my boyfriend and I what was that and I said it looks like this ant size bug with wings and my boyfriend said it was termite because he’s seen termites before and that looked like a termite! We were disgusted! My friend was telling me ew get that away from me so I flicked it off the sushi bar but I should of told the server how they have a termite in their restaurant. I mean this place has been around for I believe 20+ years and it’s a little outdated but still looks a little nice inside but having it be so dim, you don’t know what they have crawling around in there. We just hurried up with our meal and moved outside to talk. I won’t be coming back here anymore.

I really enjoyed my meal at Yosuke Sushi. It was pretty busy, even around 8pm. We were able to get seats at the sushi bar. The whole atmosphere was super friendly. A couple a few seats to our right bought beers for the sushi chefs and drank with them! We ordered the Poke because it was something I’ve never heard of before going to SoCal. It wasn’t just one particular fish, but had a variety of fish, and even octopus. The sauce was quite delicious. We also ordered the Mitzy Roll, which was made by Mitsy himself! Actually, I’m not sure if that is the spelling of his name, but he was there. He was super friendly too. The rolls are super big and packed, which is definitely a challenge to eat.

Great service from sushi chef Kin!!! This place is a hidden gem and serves amazingly fresh sushi! If you’re feeling adventurous, do the omakase! You won’t be disappointed. My personal favorite is the uni, tai, blue fin tuna, and Sweet shrimp!

We visited California for a wedding reception last month, and this is the happy couple’s neighborhood sushi place. Lucky them! We ordered a lot of things, and I don’t remember it all. Here are some highlights: –vegetable tempura: you can find this at most Japanese restaurants, but it’s particularly good here. They include more than just the usual vegetables. –spicy scallop roll: I’m a scallop fan, but had never had a spicy scallop roll before– this was delicious! –nigiri: we ordered quite a bit of this, and all was very good. I wasn’t a fan of the sea urchin, but that’s likely personal preference. The salmon, snapper and halibut were all great, and the toro was even better. They have a decent selection of sake and beer, and service was a little slow due to how busy it was, but friendly overall. Prices are reasonable for southern California, and my friend says the lunch combo is a steal. If you find yourself in Anaheim Hills, it’s a good spot for sushi!
