We had a great time. We did not see any wildlife, so that was a disappointment. The bikes worked very well.

Had a great experience renting bikes at Pablo’s. The bike was in great condition. And they are so close to the trail. Price was great too. We rented from June (I think that was her name) and she was really great to work with!

Bike rental experience was excellent. There’s a coupon online that get you a free water for your ride. This is located really close to the Coastal Trail and Pablo gave us a map and directions on how to go. There was some construction on the trail so there was a detour involved. We were determined to see some wildlife and we actually saw a pair of moose, a female and a male while riding on the trail. The scenery is amazing and we even got a clear view of Denali. Many people are using the trail so it feels really safe. It took us longer to get back to the bike shop because we were tired from the ride out and we weren’t really paying attention near the area that we needed to get off the trail to get back to the bike rental place so we were kind of late getting back. Pablo was nice about it and left use locks to lock up the bike near his storage container. This was one of the highlights of our trip, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

My 70 year old mother and I rented bikes from Pablo to ride the Coastal Trail in Anchorage. Pablo found a bike for my mom that was easy to use and he adjusted it to the right size to fit her. We went for a 2 hour ride and had a great time. Pablo is friendly, helpful and very happy.

Nice bike rental place near the trail. We used a competitor’s price which he matched. Got nice, new bikes. Good advise about the trail. We drove to the point and back. Saw a moose on the way! Up close. Yay! He also gave us a coupon for free apps at restaurant we were planning on eating dinner at. Bonus.

I rented the Cannondale Quick Hybrid for 3 hours. Upon arriving I was greeted by two very friendly staff. While I was getting my bike set up, I noticed one of the employees wiping off two bikes as they came in, indicating to me even appearance matters to them. It was evident that all the bikes were well maintained and during my 30 mile ride, I did not experience any mechanical issues. When I came back in, I was greeted by Pablo himself! He was super friendly! Go Yankees! Haha. I was impressed by everyone’s professionalism as well as the quality of their rentals. I will definitely recommend them to anyone needing a very reasonable priced rental!

They were open at 8am sharp. They took the time to ensure that the bikes for us fit properly, provided helmets and a bike lock. They provide ample directions and a great map.
We took a 4 hour tour of the coastal trail to Kincaid Park and back. Outstanding views and we saw a moose too! Pablo is great and we had a great time. Thanks.

She was very insightful about the trail and upbeat. We rented 2 bikes (we suggest non-​nobby tires, since you’ll be on cement he entire time. The bikes worked really well (braking, shifting, tire pressure).
Don’t half step. Come here after you mow down your massive breakfast at Snow City Café.

Reasonable prices, good bikes, close to the Coastal Trail, friendly staff (I actually met Pablo and he’s super nice). Great for locals and tourists. Highly recommend!

Great location right next to parking. Pablo’s a nice guy who is very helpful and will make you laugh. He gives you an overview of the trail (we did the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail) and prepares you for the wildlife. We saw two moose on our ride. They were 30 feet away each time. Someone else remarked they’d been to Denali and hadn’t seen a moose this close.
I’d definitely recommend him for a leisurely bike rental.

Pablo is so friendly! Bikes were in good repair and we enjoyed our ride along the spectacular Coastal Trail. $ 20 for 3 hours per bike on a Sunday (but at least there’s free street parking nearby on Sundays).

We looked around and Pablo’s has the newest bikes — excellent service and guidance — try the ‘fat bike’ Definitely worth the extra bucks! Pablo’s rental is also very close to the bike trails.

Top notch bikes and a great dude. We rented brand new bikes for a 21 mile ride on the costal highway. Can’t beat the price and located right by most hotels. We didn’t see any moose, but it was a great way to spend the day. Thanks Pablo!

Pablo is awesome! Super friendly, flexible and gives you the best activity to do from downtown Anchorage! I highly recommend doing the coastal trail by bike where you’ll find moose (I saw five!) planes landing directly over your head, and potentially a black bear! Besides all that the trail is beautiful along the coast and you’ll get some great exercise.

I had read so much about Coastal Trail and REALLY wanted to ride bikes on it… it’s suppose to be a scenic, paved trail that is suppose to be gorgeous. Alas, construction going on so we had to bike down another great trail.
Anyway! Came on a Wednesday afternoon. Pablo is really friendly. First thing he asked was what kind of bikes we wanted to ride. We thought we wanted to Tandem bikes so Pablo suggested we ride around the parking lot he is set up to see if that’s what we really want… the answer was no, haha. So we got two individual bikes and he adjusted the seating, had us ride them to see if they were comfortable, and even made sure to ask if we wanted the seat raised or lowered! We asked for two hours and the total was $ 24 for two people WITH helmets… SO AFFORADABLE and also a dollar cheaper than the guy across the rode per person.
Pablo is located really close to the entrance of the trails, which was nice. He had walked us through a map and where to go because of the construction going on at Coastal trail and also gave us the map, which was nice. We biked for 1.5 hours and had a really great time. Biking is something I don’t usually do and it was nice to get out there and get some fresh air.
I definitely recommend Pablo’s bicycle rental. He was a nice guy that asked us question about where we were from and what we do, etc etc, the place was affordable, and he was very informative about the trails and the wildlife.

If you want a bike quickly without any hassle or tie ups, then Pablo is your guy! Quick friendly service and a quality bike at a great price. I had a blast touring around the trails here. Thank you!

Perfect way to spend an afternoon — Pablo is located abt 1 block away from the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail (allegedly one of the most scenic trails in the US?) — a great paved trail along the water that can be a nice lil ride for a family w young kids or a 22m push w long uphills if you happen to have a lovingly militant father — spoiler alert, we are in the latter category.
For the casual cyclist, he has a great selection of bikes — Trek, Specialized, and a third type on which I’m blanking — maybe Schwinn? He and his helper, Gene, will get you all outfitted and you’re off! In terms of bike logistics, I don’t think they have any down handlebar bikes, only uprights — the seats on all 3 bikes we had were quite comfy — the bike only went up to 7 speeds, which was fine for the trail, though after getting used to an 18 speed, you really notice a difference in terms of power you can get while going uphill. If you’re not looking for your thighs to feel the burn, you’ll probably end up walking some of the trail if you go all 22m, but the trail is truly accessible for all levels of fitness, as evidenced by the variety of people using it.
An hour is $ 7, 2h is $ 12, and 3h is $ 15 — it goes up in $ 5 increments after that — very reasonable.
Most importantly, Pablo facilitated the making of my mother’s dream of seeing a moose super close — we were riding along and all of a sudden I see my father stopped ahead, I peddle to him, he points behind me, and I shout «holy sh!!! t» when I see a moose literally 4ft from the trail just munching on some foliage. I con’t to peddle farther away out of its sight line, but a lot of people got off and took pics, my momsie included. When we got back to Pedro’s, he showed us pics of black bears, a wolf, and moose he had also seen along the same trail on which we just rode. It was truly amazing.
My only complaint is that only a few of the bikes have water bottle holders — but, that’s what a back pack is for, I guess?
If you have time in Anchorage, it’s absolutely worth taking one of his bikes out for a spin — lovely guy, well run business.

Had a wonderful experience with Pablo’s Bicycle Rental. Convenient downtown location and just a block from the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. Prices are very reasonable; $ 15 for up to three hours, $ 5 per hour after that up to $ 30 for a full day. While the bicycles have some wear and tear they seem to be well maintained and functioned properly. Pablo has you take your ride for a short test spin and then makes any necessary adjustments before you head off on your adventure. He is also really friendly and provides great advice about the local area and the Tony Knowles Trail.
The trail itself has beautiful vistas and excellent chances of spying wildlife; we spotted a black bear cub and a large moose was feeding just a foot off the trail (Beluga whales are also a possibility). The trail also passes by the airport and jumbo jets fly just over year head a la Maho beach. At approximately 11 miles there is a chalet with some food, beverages and clean bathrooms. The path can be a bit hilly, but nothing too steep and the ride back is significantly more downhill than the ride out. The path is for bicycles and pedestrians only; the only negative of the trail is there can be copious mosquitoes.
Pablo’s is open daily from 8:00am to 7:00pm and accepts cash and credit; Pablo will store some belongings while you are riding upon request and also sells provisions such as beverages and mosquito repelling bracelets. Nice selection of bicycles — even tandems are available. Bike locks, helmets and maps are available for no additional charge.
Overall this was such a fun experience; if you are staying in Anchorage and want a fun, inexpensive activity (as well as some exercise) rent a bicycle from Pablo!
