We are experienced naturalists with many years of guiding experience in Alaska — and decided to start offering day hikes in the beautiful Chugach mountains in 2013.

Super Late on this review but finally got to it. We were in Alaska last year for my sister’s T4K Ride (
). After she was done we wanted to explore Anchorage a little. After reading about Chugach guides we booked a hike with them.
My parents never go hiking or trekking, neither does my wife!!! For them to enjoy this, was a big deal.
Sudevi was on time and super cheerful. She is very knowledgable and kept the hike easy for most of the way keeping in mind that my sister just biked 4500 miles from Austin 2 days before. My mom is a botanist so she got to explore her flowers and plants, I like mountains so we got some nice shots.
I would highly recommend Sudevi and her company. She was equipped with water and snacks, what else can you ask for.

My wife and I had the perfect day hiking with Sudevi of Chugach Guides Alaska. We wanted to go on a hike in the Anchorage area but didn’t know where to go or what to expect, we didn’t have a car, and we had heard that we needed to watch out for bears — yikes! Sudevi gave us some options for a hike, took care of our transportation, and had bear spray and munchies. We chose the all day trek to the top of a mountain and enjoyed every minute of it. We really appreciated Sudevi’s attention to safety, her concern about our comfort /​fatigue level throughout the day, and her knowledge of the plants and animals on the route. And she’s also just a genuinely nice and fun person to go on a hike with; I felt like we were instantly friends. It was such a good day that we already want to go back to Alaska, and we’ll want to go on another hike with these guys again.
