COR Wax, Lash & Cosmetics

This place completely took advantage of my mother. She went in to get lashes done and spent $ 225 for a full set of lashes that were no longer than her real lashes. She had to go back in to try and have a more «filled» look two days later because they weren’t even filled complete. We had to take my mom to a different lash lady to have the Cor lashes taken out and filled with longer lashes and they charged her a total of $ 80 to have them removed and refilled, which she said this was the worst she has ever seen eyelashes. She said there was one fake eyelash glued to two real lashes on my mother. Another complaint about Julie from Cor, is she proceeded to tell my mom that the law states that there can only be a certain length allowed on eyelashes. This is not even true. Terrible place. Takes advantage of you. If you want really full long beautiful lashes, go see Miranda in wasilla at Ta Skin or Anne woolsey at Tiger Paws in anchorage.

10 stars! Amber is a GEM. She’s super speedy but the appointments don’t feel rushed. I feel like I’m going for a coffee date with my best friend! She is very informative, professional and affordable! Give her a call!

Amber, the owner, saved the day for us! It was my besties wedding and the day before that, we had lucked out on our original plans with another makeup artist. But she came to the rescue and she worked on us patiently the day of the wedding. She did WONDERFUL! The entourage looked fabulous! Thank you, Amber!

I cannot thank Amber enough for making my wedding day spectacular! She was on time, cheerful, and made all of my bridesmaids feels incredibly FIERCE! I have had my makeup done at several different places in the Anchorage area. Amber made me feel comfortable voicing my preferences and concerns and was able to execute in the exact way I expressed. This is a very small, but nice place. The receptionist could be friendly. But the other staff are very nice and pleasant. I just went here for a lash tint (as I’m cursed with super pale lashes). It was quick and painless and the person I saw did a fabulous job. Reasonably priced at $ 25, which is what I’m accustomed to paying in the lower 48. I can’t speak to their other services, but based on my lash tint experience, I’d certainly be willing to come here for other things.

Location is great. Products are great. I was with Kateland and she was so sweet and knew what she was doing. I had an underarm wax with her yesterday and just made another appointment to come back in today. I am so happy I came, natural and good quality products are the best. Feeling very thankful I found this place! Front desk service is great too.

Love the ladies here! Always more than pleased and the service is awesome! I switched to their make up and love love it. It’s also so nice to have someone help you pick out colors that are right for you.

I scheduled an appointment for a professional makeup application for an event I was attending. I received a call the morning of my appointment, asking to change my appointment time to earlier in the day due to a scheduling conflict. I called back and said I was unable to change the time to earlier, but could come in later that day, like 4pm. The very flippant young lady answering the phone said they could not schedule me for later because they close at 4pm. They ended up cancelling me completely since I was unable to come in earlier. I asked if there was anyone else who could schedule me and she said she could «try» to call someone else. Again, very flippant and nonchalant about the whole thing, and she only said she would «try» to find someone after I asked.
If YOU make a mistake in scheduling, that is a YOU problem, not a ME problem. So you close at 4pm? If YOU make the mistake, then you stay late to fix it, something commonly known as professionalism and integrity. Thanks so much COR for ruining what was supposed to be a very special evening for me. I won’t forget it.
EDITED TO ADD– I received a very nice and apologetic phone call from the owner, I did call her back but we were unable to connect. I do appreciate a business owner making the attempt to fix things.

I’ve seen Mikayla and Tanya for waxing and facials and both are fantastic; very knowledgeable, quick, and just plain awesome.
One of my favorite things about COR is their use of products that cater to sensitive skin that allow me to leave without red, irritated skin which makes it convenient for a quick lunch time appointment when I have to go back to work.
They also have a frequent waxing card program (buy x, get y free) and frequently have gift card and service deals. Their prices are beyond reasonable cheaper than most spas in town.
Their space is bright, modern, inviting and über clean. I would highly recommend COR to anyone who’s intimidated about going in for their first wax, these ladies seriously rock.

Amber and her team are so awesome! Amber did my makeup for my wedding and when she turned the chair around after she was done I struggled to hold back tears. It was better than what I expected! She is proud of her work and it shows! I have also had my eyelashes tinted by her which I plan on coming and having done again as I have really blonde eyelashes. It’s never fun having to apply multiple coats of mascara and then spending an extra 10 minutes to curl them! (I have extremely long eyelashes). Amber is also great conversation! Enjoy! You won’t regret it!

I do not let anyone but Mikayla touch my eyebrows– never never a disappointment. There were at times where I arrived on the nose for my appointment which I still feel guilty about but she is always precise and quick with that wax! No matter how often I go, I always feel like I’m treated like a new client again and again.

Love this place! Amber did my make up for my wedding and she did a fabulous job. Can’t thank her enough for beautifying me on by big day! I’ve seen a few estheticians for facials and Julie for those awesome eyelash extensions and they all have been great experiences.

The ladies at COR are personally invested in their business. The services are reasonably priced and speedy. I don’t need a cup of tea and a fire place while I get waxed. Tanya is my waxer and she is by far the fastest and most thorough of anyone I’ve ever been to. I’d choose COR over any other spa in town.

I Love Cor! All of the ladies there are very helpful. I’ve had eyelash extensions done by Julie, who is amazing! They always turned out beautiful and she always accommodated my schedule. I’ve been waxed by Amber, the owner, and I’ve been waxed by Kateland. Both are awesome. They each have their own technique but I would go see either one of them again and again, and I do! Their make up is perfect for my skin. I’ve had a hard time with the way the weather is up here in Alaska, but Cor solved that for me! Keep up the great business. xo

Excellent customer service. Love their cosmetic products and would highly suggest to anyone. Their services are inexpensive with a professional, well educated staff.

I recently took advantage of the mini-​facial Groupon and I’m so glad I did! Everyone from the receptionist to the esthetician were welcoming and friendly. Service was competent and pleasant with no upsell. My skin was glowing after — I can’t wait to see what they can do with a full-​length service!

I had received a Groupon for Mother’s Day for an Organic Pedi-​Manicure.
All the staff when I arrived was very nice and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Everything was very clean and well maintained. Jasmine did my Pedi-​Mani she was very professional and did not rush through the process. I will be returning for more as I think the service was very good. My feet and hands were very soft when she finished. and my toe/​finger nails were manicured and polished professionally.
Thanks to Jasmine I will return.

I have purchased two Groupons in the past; one for a Cry Baby eyelash application and two for a bikini waxing. With both, I was not impressed. I feel like they were just churning Groupon customers in and out as fast as they could because we didn’t pay full price, which is unfortunate because it really should be about offering great service so we choose to come back for many needs.
I didnt have any expectations for the cry baby eyelash application as I have never had it done before. It did make my eyelashes a little darker, but it wasn’t dramatic as I would like. Don’t waste your $ on the cry baby eyelash application if you are going to Hawaii. The salt water (even in many pools) makes them clump. I would have been better off just buying water proof mascara.
As for the waxing, she went so fast many hairs broke at the skin, which means they grow back a lot faster. Had she taken time to wax and they pulled out from the root. I will not be going back for any waxing needs nor for another cry baby application. I also will not be buying a Groupon from here again as I just felt as if I was padding their pockets, but yet an inconvience for everyone I came in contact with.
