History
Established in 2001.
Paul Van Alstine, Certified Advanced Rolfer started Studio One due to one need… Structurally Integrating exercise. As a Rolfer Paul was able to help many of his clients get out of neck, back, shoulder pain for weeks months even years.
But he noticed that many of this clients could use some safe form of exercise that focused on the same postural and integration goals. Repetition of good body mechanics at a low cost was a key goal for him. He searched and experimented with many modalities including Yoga and Feldenkrais and decided on Pilates due to it’s linear, easy to understand, simple exercises with no religious undertones.
Studio One has grown in ten years from just one instructor to a team of 16 taking space of 6,000 square feet of space with many programs to help clients improve their bodies for years to come. (Being a Rolfing client is not required to start Pilates)

Ana Kokaurova, Training Director & Rolfer ®
My background is in classical ballet. I started studying at the Anchorage Classical Ballet Academy in 1996; then went on to be a student at Joffrey Ballet through New School University in New York City in 1999. At that time I became curious about how to improve my body and began studying Pilates and Gyrotonics. In 2001, I was accepted to be an apprentice at BalletMet Columbus, Ohio, performing with the company for one year.
I have been at Studio One Pilates since 2002 and have gone through the following certifications:
Instructor Trainer for Pilates for Structural Integration, 2009 Studio One Pilates, Anchorage, Alaska
Certified Advanced Rolfer ®, 2005 Rolf Institute, Boulder, Colorado
STOTT Certifications — All Levels 2003
I am now the Training Director at Studio One Pilates. Recruiting, hiring and training all of your instructors is just one of the many things I enjoy about working in the studio.
