Providing Alaska with quality shows year after year in a wide range of styles including — but certainly not limited to — Musicals, Shakespeare, dance, contemporary plays and original works. It has been our pleasure to showcase international artists, enthusiastic community members and our talented, up-​and-​coming students. It is our privilege to share their hard work and magic with our audience.

History

Established in 1972.

For over 30 years the UAA Department of Theatre & Dance has been training some of the best artists and technicians in Alaska. Our performance students have gone on to star in TV shows and film such as Air Force One, HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, The Frozen Ground and the Academy award winning Birdman — they all got their start in our Jerry Harper Studio and the Mainstage theatres.

We expect the best from our students and the best is what we provide to our audience!
