Anderson/Lake Hartwell Koa

I’m here for a week and a half for work. I work from 7 – 7 and come home cook and ideally want to watch my Apple TV. Not only do they want to charge me for WIFI but if I use too much they will throttle my usage even though I’m paying for it.
How about you upgrade your service. I’m not some old geezer that’s clueless about Apple and Amazon TV.
You get two free hours a day… where is that pass code. It’s impossible to find. So annoyed.
Won’t stay here again.

Awful place, one of the owners is a nasty one, I’m sure she is the one that treated a couple of others so badly in the reviews that I have read here and on KOA site. It is a dump and we would never stay there again.

The way the owner treated myself and my service dog were appalling to say the least. She stopped me while walking my dog after we were told that my dog did not need a leash. Then she belittled me as she continued to tell me that I was wrong even though the staff said I was ok to walk my service dog without her leash since she gets no more than 5 feet from me at any time. I would not recommend this place until the owner learns how to speak to people with respect.

We stayed at the Anderson /​Lake Hartwell KOA last evening in a 32ft A Class RV. (We have stayed at many KOA’s across the county.) The reservation process was standard and straight-​forward. They accommodated our late arrival and it very easy to find our site and park.
This KOA is clean and well organized with level sites. At the time we stayed the site seemed about 80% full but it was very quite.
As we travel with out dogs, having a pet walk is very important. In the morning, we found a nice field with open space. However, it was not as clear at night where to find the appropriate walking spot and it is near a road. Our only recommendation would be to have an off-​leash area — preferably away from the road.
Overall, we give this site a 4 star rating and would return if traveling back in the area.

Part of why my family enjoys camping is the kind, friendly people we always seem to meet there. My first impression at this KOA told me this place is different. I was in the area for work and had a few minutes to drive through and get a «feel» for the property. I noticed an unoccupied lodge and got out to peek in the window. As I was returning to my car an older gentleman drove up on a go cart.
Me: Good Morning
Him: What are you doing here? (gruff tone throughout)
Me: Had a few minutes, wanted to take a quick peek around.
Him: You need to go register at the office.
Me: Sorry, I just…(interupted)
Him: You can’t be on the property until you have registered at the office. If you are going to camp you need to go to the office.
Me: Again sir, sorry, I think I have seen what I needed to see. (as I am getting in my car)
This happened around 11:45am on a Sunday.
Maybe everyone in the office was as nice as they could be. Maybe this man had just had to run off some trouble maker. Maybe, maybe, maybe. Whatever the case is, I will not give them another chance. There are probably a dozen other choices within 10 miles of this KOA. I will be trying one of those instead.
