Anderson / Lake Hartwell KOA

The way the owner treated myself and my service dog were appalling to say the least. She stopped me while walking my dog after we were told that my dog did not need a leash. Then she belittled me as she continued to tell me that I was wrong even though the staff said I was ok to walk my service dog without her leash since she gets no more than 5 feet from me at any time. I would not recommend this place until the owner learns how to speak to people with respect.

We’re here again because we love it. The sisters who run the camp ground are great. The location is near grocery stores, restaurants and more. The facility is well maintained! If you have not been here you are missing out!

We stayed here from 10÷10÷12 — 10÷11÷12 with our 2 dogs in our 32 ft 5^th wheel RV. We were only there for about 13 hours, so we can’t comment on what it is like for a few days. The reason for the low rating is solely based on the electrical at our site (#13). The connector was broken (the plastic isolators were missing, exposing the metal), so my husband had to be very careful hooking up. If he had touched the metal when hooking up, he could have been shocked/​electrocuted. Also, the electrical box sits on the ground, & the connector is only about ½ in off the ground. If it were to rain & get wet, you have another dangerous situation. The internet bandwidth was not that great — websites were very slow to open. that being said, I was very grateful the wifi code was on the paper left for us notifying us of our lot location (we were late checking in). Otherwise, the lots were nice sizes & many pull throughs. The lots were also pretty level. The campground is in the middle of lots of trees with sand on the ground. There is a small pet walk, but the campground is great for walking the dogs around. Only thing is that it would be nice to have trash cans periodically. There was only one on the campground in the pet walk — you have to lift the lid to put the poopy bags in & it stinks because there is no ventilation.

The Anderson KOA Campground is located near Lake Hartwell and is always very well maintained. They have a swimming pool, General Store and cottages.
