If i could give this place one star I would. I’m starting to believe this place is closing for a good reason. We purchased 2 dresses for my maid of honor. Since the store is closing it was a final sale. But we went home an noticed both dresses were ripped. The bottom of one of the dresses had holes and rips in the fabric that was not fixable by a seamstress. The other dress had a rip in the skirt of the dress on the side towards the top that was noticeable and the MOH did not want to wear something that had defects. We decided to go back to the bridal shoppe to see if there was anything they could do (Mind you, I had bought a veil there earlier that had 3 rips and they agreed to exchange it). We went back and the attendant told us we had to come back when the owner was there because she was not authorized to make the exchange and we were rushed out of the store. Today we went back since the owner is only there on Saturdays and I have never been treated so disrespectful in my life. The person who sold us the dress was there and told me and the MOH that she could not believe we had the dignity to come back to try and work something out because we had wasted her time, the sale was final and she did not feel bad at all (Exact words, I even have the recording). She told us that the sale was a really good price and she would not try and work anything else out and that was it. Before we could even say a word about the situation to begin with she came up to us and yelled that out in front of a bunch of customers there. I would NOT recommend this place and I am happy that the witch owner of the place will no longer have a business. We weren’t expecting a refund we just wanted to try and see if we could exchange the dress for something that was not ripped and that was suitable for a MOH. All in all, I am still shocked at the way we were treated when we walked in there very politely and before we could say anything she barked up a storm. I simply just said Ok and walked out because I didn’t feel it was worth arguing with such disrespectful people. $ 200 dollars were lost but a good lesson learned. If i could upload the recording and report it to the BBB I would. I just feel bad for all the other brides that might have had a bad experience leading up to their special day.
P. S. I purchased my Allure gown at Bella Bridal in Amesbury and I would deff recommend that place. Nice small shop that really pays close attention to their brides wants and needs.

This bridal shop is amazing. I saw the sign that they are having a retirement sale so my mom and I stopped in. The young girl at the front was so helpful and immediately started pulling dresses for me. We did not even have an appointment. i think it was the 4^th or 5^th dress I tried on that was the one. I am so in love with the dress and cannot wait to wear it. The style is something i would have never even tried on but it looks amazing. The ladies were all so nice and very helpful. So sad this place is closing soon but go buy your dress here before it does!

I am glad this place is closing so no other bride has to go through the stress I went through days prior my wedding.

Couldn’t have been happier with this bridal shop! I got my gown here for my wedding last July and my mother even found her mother of the bride dress here. It was a wonderful experience, no pressure, and all the ladies we worked with were tremendous! I had such a special experience here and would highly recommend it to all future brides! Xoxo

Do NOT go here! They lost my daughter’s prom dress and told us 4 days before prom!
Despite the fact that we ordered the dress on Feb. 10 for a May 17 prom, we didn’t have it. We were reassured on numerous occasions that we would have it in time until on May 13 they told us it was shipped but never received. When there was no effort to track the shipment, I am guessing that they never ordered it. We were promised a refund (which they never processed) so finally I had to contact my credit card company to get my money back. They did allow my daughter to select a dress off the rack though it was slim pickings at that time and she was limited to those that were close to her size. We then had to pay for the alterations to take it down two sizes. The owner, Lorraine, was unapologetic and even responded to me «At least she has a dress». While I understand that things happen, it was more the lack of customer service and the fact that they jerked me around that really upset me. The stress that this created for myself and my daughter in preparation for a nice event was ridiculous.
It’s a shame because they have beautiful gowns in the window but that is meaningless if you can’t get the one you order. Go elsewhere to ensure you get your dress and have a much better experience all around.

I am very displeased with the service I received at this bridal shop. Part of the reason I chose Abbey Bridal shop was because it was a small, boutique type shop that I expected had the highest level of service for brides with reasonable prices. The first time I went to the shop, I was very happy with Amy and her help in finding my perfect dress. She was pleasant and was able to find me what I wanted within my budget. I would also say that when I went in for my first fitting, I felt the same way.
However, when I went in to try my dress on after alterations, I was completely ignored for 10 – 15 minutes. Nobody seemed even interested to ask why I was there or to let me know that it would be a few minutes because it was busy. Actually, there was only one other woman there trying on dresses. Finally, one of my friends asked and then my dress was brought up. After putting the dress on, it was obvious that there was something wrong as it looked lopsided. I expressed this but was told it wasn’t and that it just needed to be fluffed. My concerns were ignored and the girl tried to pretend it was okay then proceeded to show us how to bustle. This went on until finally one of my friends convinced her to get the seamstress. Carmen was able to fix it and on my next fitting it looked great! Thank goodness as Carmen was leaving on vacation the next day and wouldn’t be back until March. This little detail should have been explained to me before I had the alterations done.
The worst happened when I went to pick up my dress on December 12, 2013 before the wedding. I luckily decided to try it on one last time. After taking it off, I noticed pine needles, lint and dirt specs all over the train. It was not one or two but a whole lot and I only wish that I took a picture. There was also a dirt line across the back of it which the staff pretended not to see. Amy and the other staff woman spent at least an hour trying to get it all off. They were unapologetic and actually laughed with each other about it, while I was obviously very upset. I was told that the dress picks up lint when they drag it or when steaming. First of all, I expected that they would have made sure that my dress was in perfect condition when I picked it up. I do not feel that they should be dragging my dress and if they are aware that the dresses pick up lint then why are they not vacuuming daily or handling this differently? I would think that this shop would be experienced in storing bridal gowns but this is obviously not true. I spent a lot of money for my dress and after my experience would not recommend it to anyone. My husband called Amy to complain because I was so upset and she hung up on him.
I did not ask for much but professionalism and did not receive it on more than one occasion.

What can one say about tremendous service. My daughter was recently married and purchased her wedding gown and her maid of honor dress at Abbey. Ellen and Amy went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Carmen the steamstess is FANTASTIC.
As the mother of the bride, my dress ended up being a disaster! When Alfred Angelo in Danvers couldn’t offer me a solution, the girls at Abbey Bridal stepped right in and made sure the dress fitted correctly.
We also had Ellen as the «lady in waiting». Her help the day of the wedding meant so very much to us… anything that needed done, Ellen volunteered.
Looking for a Bridal Shoppe that goes above and beyond, look no further… Abbey Bridal is number one.

Low pressure, friendly & helpful.
I made and appointment here to look at bridesmaid dresses with my sister. Although we did not end up buying there that day, they were very helpful, friendly and more importantly, not intimidating!
The layout of the store is not cluttered and congested like some shops — lots of room to breathe. The selection of BM dresses was okay, not a whole lot of short dresses (however i do realize it is winter!) But they did carry one of the designers we were considering as well as others in the same price range. They were also helpful in understanding our price point, and helping us to locate dresses that were at the point.
If I did not already have my dress, I would love to shop here.

if you want to see more honest reviews, please look at the reviews on yellowpages. there are over 35 and all overwhelmingly negative. and even suspicions that the owner writes her own positive reviews.
in a nutshell: like other brides have reviewed, i purchased a dress from this shop and they ripped all the labels out. apparently abbey bridal likes to pretend they made the dresses themselves? i have no idea.
when we questioned the owner about this practice, and the authenticity of the dress, she grew intensely irate with us. she is a rude, condescending, deceitful woman.
it’s amazing that they are still in business.

What a beautiful bridal shoppe! The saleswoman I worked with, Mary, made my experience special. She picked out some beautiful wedding dresses and worked really hard to help me find my dream dress. I highly recommend this shoppe.

After reading the comments on Abbey’s on line I only went in on a whim I would try a few wedding dresses on. The girl at the front desk was not a warm and friendly person (and should not be the welcoming party!) after checking in she disappeared and a wonderful woman came out (can not remember her name). She was great and made the shopping fun! I wish that I had found a dress there that I liked because she was terrific

I’m an Andover native. I have been oogling the windows at Abbey Bridal since I as far back as I can remember. So I’m finally engaged and stop by to browse.
I have never encountered such rude sales girls. All my mom and I got, was a flippant «You need an appointment to try on dresses.» Did I ask to try them on? No. Was I interested? Yes. Did you even bother to ask if I wanted to schedule an appointment? No.
Mom and I decided to wander for a while and pull out a bunch of dress and hold them up to ourselves. Sadly, we couldn’t even put them back properly because the racks are all so stuffed.
I couldn’t have been more disappointed.
