Andover Taxi and Private Livery

Terrible service! Is it possible to give a triple minus star rating?
Booked a round trip ticket to pick up and return someone other than myself so I put a 20% tip on to ensure good service.
Tried calling and emailing to get confirmation that they would pick this person up and got «crickets» for reply.
I was told when I booked it that they would email the passenger with instructions on where to go and who to look for. The passenger received no email and it took several attempts and more than 2 hours for the driver and passenger to connect.
On the return trip they never showed up (called and «verified» the day before) and I had to call again. Somehow between the day I called and the next day” They had no listing of the pick up”.
However they had no problem charging my credit card 2 times for round trip passage.
I have called 3 times and they promise me each time someone will call me to resolve this issue.
I have had to get my credit card company involved.

Buyer beware. The driver that showed up this morning was in a very small car and was a Lyft driver… he shared that with me. I paid a good $ 20 more than if I had ordered Lyft from the app (which I use often). He was frazzled, not paying attention to the road and did not speak clear English. He tried to pull over the side of the ride up in Andover to have me pay as he said the airport was too busy at 5:30 AM.

This company operates under several names.
I should have read all the reviews on Unilocal before I ordered transportation to and from Logan Airport at Christmas.
This is a true statement about a rude and disrespectful customer service. The Andover Airport Transportation/​Andover Taxi and Private Livery is not an officially authorized company even though it has a website, that looks legal. They pretend that they operate as a legitimate business with a website and everything, but if the customers do not drag their bags up to the Departure at Logan Airport, they’d leave them without service.
After arriving a long overseas trip with heavy luggage the driver refused to come to the arrival area where I was. He asked me to go to the upper level with my bags. When I said he should pick me up from where I was, he called his supervisor. Luis E., the manager, called me back yelling and shouting, if I don’t go upstairs, they would not serve me. And he wasn’t kidding…
I prepaid everything, even added 20% tip to the bill when I was asked to provide my credit card information before departure, but I was left at the airport after my eighteen hour flight back home.
The manager’s behavior and negligence was a great example of a horrible customer service. I should have not given even one star to Andover Airport Transportation/​Andover Taxi and Private Livery, but there was no minus as an option.
One thing I’d learned, never ever order a service from these guys again.

Excellent service with Andover Taxi & Private Livery. Lilli picked us up early in the morning on our departure in a sedan and called to let us know she was on her way. Luis picked us up at the airport. He called and sent a text message to make sure we knew he was close by. Pick up at Logan was great. Luis picked us up at departures so we didn’t have to walk over islands to get to the SUV. I would definitely use this service again. For the price of 117.00 round trip, not including tip from Methuen to Logan Airport, this was well worth it for me. Luis and Lilli were terrific drivers.

Worst service ever. I dont think it even deserves a single star to be given here.
I was travelling from andover to amherst and they spoke on phone and confirmed that the price will be $ 150 and then after getting into the car they increased the price to $ 200. And they were not ready to give me a receipt for my travel. This is the worst experience I have ever had. I would not recommend them to even my enemies.
Be aware of these people.

Great ! Luis gave me a quick estimate. We went over the dates, and he sent me confirmation. He verified service as the date approached. Rates were very fare. Drivers were on time and friendly. We had a problem with luggage at the airport on our return. Driver waited and stay in contact with us. He was right there when we exited the terminal, after midnight, in pouring rain. He was a very welcome sight.
We would definitely use them again.

Horrible service! We called at 5:30 and asked to be picked up at 6:00. The taxi did not come until 6:40! We ended up missing our movie. The man kept assuring us it would only be 5 minutes. Avoid this company at all costs!

This is my first time using the service and im really happy. I had to go to the airport early in the morning and they came right on time. The driver was really nice and pro.

You get what you pay for, and this livery service is on the inexpensive side. Which means less dependable (not that they don’t try, but when you get paid less, you have leave yourself less leeway) and worse equipment. I rode in a passenger van once during the winter that I felt less than safe in; we actually had to push the van when it couldn’t get going in one guy’s driveway. I won’t use them again as I don’t mind paying a little more for newer vehicles and the convenience of not waiting around. Make your own call…
Just updating my review. Made a horrific mistake and called this service for a ride home from Logan during a snow storm. The driver almost hit two other sedan’s while leaving the livery area as he drove one handed and tried to put on his seat belt. I mean, really, you couldn’t do that while we were parked when you weren’t risking my life and others? Did I mention that he also stayed inside his warm car and left me to climb over a snowbank and put my luggage in the trunk. Ride home was scary, and I kept encouraging him to travel at a safe speed (he was weaving in and out and we fish-​tailed several times. I should have known better based on my prior experience (next time I’ll try über). But I’ve dropped them to 1 start given their complete lack of safe driving.

It looks like other folks have had a difficult time with this company. I personally had a great experience the other day. The driver came to my house five minutes early, helped me with my bags, drove me to Logan and was very courteous. It was only $ 55 from Andover.

The only thing close to a good experience with this company was the politeness of the driver who was admittedly sheepish after he realized how displeased I was with the overall service of Andoer Taxi.
Having reviewed their website and called ahead to make a reservation for pick-​up they notified me that they would be there 10 minutes early to ensure they were ready for me. They also said the driver would call me as soon as my flight landed at Logan.
Not only did the driver not call but the dispatcher – the only person who ever answered the phone the subsequent 11 times I called – was a complete jerk. He made it seem as though it was my fault that I was not in the exact spot where the driver was.
So 30 minutes after landing at the airport I was off in this p.o.s. mini-​van, not the luxury towncar the website promised. After arriving at home, the driver soon returned with his boss on the line saying that the payment didn’t go through. For some reason I still provided my credit card but they would not present a receipt until TWO WEEKS later.
I could really go on and on about the awfulness of this company but I think the number of negative reviews here speak for themselves. I just wish more people could be aware of this before beeing dooped into paying $ 65 from Logan to Andover for a crappy experience.
Don’t know how this company is still in business.

Haven’t reviewed anything on Unilocal lately but my 2^nd experience with Andover Airport Transportation inspired me to log back on. (hint: DO NOT USE THEM)
Pickup driver (5:30am on a Saturday) was on time, quiet, helpful with my luggage. Drove like a bat out of hell on 93S and was swerving in and out of lanes. I was sweating when I arrived at Logan.
FF to pickup last Saturday afternoon (I arrived on an international flight, which they knew — takes longer for customs, bag claim). He called me 4 times (hardly any English) and barraged me with 6 texts wondering where I was 20 minutes after landing. Nice to know that he’s here — available — but the incessant messages and calls didn’t help me move any faster. You’re picked up on the departures level (at least for BA flights) so I was waiting and he was unable to communicate when/​where he’d pick me up. Finally the dispatcher called to clarify pickup details (which was where I was waiting, as per instructions).
He texted and talked on his phone my entire ride back. He was not tipped and this company is no longer one I’ll use. I’d rather walk on my hands to Logan.

Newton, NEW HAMPSHIRE not Newton, MASSACHUSETTS.
Then to tell me you will be at my house in 10 minutes. Cost me the ride to the airport in my own car and LT parking.
Pathetic considering they told me that it was $ 95 which is reasonable from NH but a rip from MA. I was told that a credit would be placed back on my credit card a a future RT to the airport would be on them but am I willing to risk this happening again?

I used Andover Taxi today and had an excellent experience. I’m not sure if the management has changed since the first review was written or what, but my experience was pretty much the exact opposite – friendly, quick service, the cab was clean, etc.
I would definitely use this cab company again!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had a scary experience. I needed to go one way to a neighboring town to pick up a car rental. They picked me up late, the women driving was on the phone, the cab was filthy and the she had the radio blasted. She barely spoke English and she was stopping at friends houses to offer them a ride. I asked her not to but she kept trying. I couldn’t get out of the cab because the area was really bad and I would be have been stranded. When I asked her just to get me where I needed to go, she started yelling. She picked 2 other people up from the street and it took almost an hour for what should have been a 15 minute ride. I called the company to tell them what happened and they hung up on me. I’m an experienced traveler and only experienced something like this in a foreign country. Pretty scary that it happened where I lived.
I’ve talked to 3 other people in the area that had a terrible experience with them. Don’t even think about calling them!!!
