History

Established in 1999.

Circles of Wisdom is a Metaphysical Bookstore and Resource Center which has been in its downtown Andover location for 16 years.

Current owner Cathy Kneeland has been running the business since 1999 and was joined by her husband Bob when they got married in 2008 and their dog Sage, the official greeter, in 2009. An expansion in 2004 allowed them to create a 400sf workshop space to allow for larger classes.

Meet the Business Owner

Cathy K.

Business Owner

Cathy studied actuarial math in college and worked in insurance companies for over 10 years. She’d started a long spreadsheet of new age books she wanted to read and at one point had the thought that she’d like to have a new age bookstore some day.

When getting an intuitive reading, the reader looked towards Cathy’s future and said she saw her surrounded by books. The reader then asked Cathy to pick a card after she mentioned she’d love to own a new age bookstore some day. Cathy picked the Sun card, the best card for having your own business the reader told her. So the thought became a step closer to reality and Cathy’s plan of doing opening the store when she was 50 turned to 45, then 40, and then became the action to just do it now. She purchased Circles of Wisdom from its original owner when she was 32.

Cathy’s mission is for Circles of Wisdom to be a welcoming place for people to come, explore new ideas and meet with like-minded others.
