Crocodile Encounter

This place was awesome and a great place to take our kids for an educational and interactive experience. Our tour guide, Jade, was very informative and had a lot of insight into all of the animals in the tour. The kids were able to touch a large assortment of alligators, turtles, snakes, lemurs, etc. This place is definitely getting a return trip from us.

I am highly impressed with the birthday party entertainment, that The Crocodile Encounter provided for my Son’s 4^th birthday! The girls were knowledgeable of all the animals and did a great job of keeping all of the kids (and adults) engaged. The price of the party was surprisingly affordable, especially since they drove from Angleton to Katy!
I have no bad things to say about our experience and look forward to working with you again!

Very affordable and Our Tour guide Jade was very knowledgeable about all the species on the ranch.

I took my family there yesterday and had a great time. We took our own lettuce as suggested and enjoyed feeding the turtles. The park is great, I do wish it was bigger. That is the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five. The staff were very nice and provided a lot of information. They were very organized and even though the park had several field trips, it did not feel crowded. We stayed for about 2 hours and listened to all the presentations. I highly recommend!

AMAZING!!! I am currently a teacher at The Next Step Academy (a school for special needs children, particularly autism spectrum disorders). Chris Dieter (the owner) was more then generous to our school. He donated a Reptile Show to our campus and he did it with a smile! He didn’t even think twice about contributing to our cause. Not only did he donate such an amazing gift, but they even came to our campus! He sent out Reagan and Grant along with their reptile friends who completely stole the show! They were so incredibly funny and their patience as well as love and care was evident. They genuinely wanted to be there and they clearly love their job! The kids had so much fun seeing the different animals such as alligators, crocodiles, lizards, snakes, turtles and tortoises. They even allowed our kiddos to touch and feel the animals! The donation itself was incredible but the service as well as memories made were absolutely the cherry on top! Thank you so much to Mr. Dieter, Grant and Reagan for the experience. WE LOVED IT!

Great place to learn about crocs, gators, reptiles and other animals. I’m not a very good reptile person but this was pretty cool. Definitely would do it again.

This was a great spot. When you pull up to the front you aren’t to sure, but we were pleasantly surprised. They have a ton of alligators and crocodiles. You are able to get pretty close to them. Well worth the drive. The tour guide we had was fun and friendly. The kids were able to hold a baby alligator. I really would recommend coming here.

We spent a wonderful morning at Crocodile Encounter in Angleton. It was a bit of a drive for us from Northwest Houston, but so worth it! There were a lot of alligators and crocodiles to see as well as some rather large turtles and antelope. We were able to get close to the animals, and were allowed to feed some them. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the whole experience fun and entertaining while we learned about the reptiles. I highly recommend this place!

I was visiting Houston for a few days with friends. I ate some awesome barbecue, played Top Golf, watched an NBA playoff game (that went overtime) and went to The Crocodile Encounter tour.
The Crocodile Encounter may have been the highlight of my trip. Full disclosure, I love animals, so seeing all these incredible animals up close just made me giddy.
The tour was extremely organized and gave a very adequate amount of time to view and/​or interact with the animals. Our tour guide (who happened to be the owner) gave really entertaining but educational commentary. He was very interactive with the crowd and was happy to answer questions.
My friends aren’t exactly the zoo/​animal type and all of them agreed that this tour was pretty cool. Ultimately, I would wholeheartedly recommend visiting here for a very unique, fun and secretly educational experience.

Interesting place! We came here for a children’s birthday party. They had many types of alligators and crocs. The enclosures were well maintained and it didn’t feel too zoo like where the animals seem unhappy and trapped, except for the ones in the building with all the kiddy pools in it. I’m not much of a zoo fan for that reason. The guide was informative about the reptiles too. Overall we had a good time.

This place is a hidden gem. After trying to find a truly unique place to take my out of town guests, I came across this place on Unilocal.The reviews didn’t say much, but I just had to go out on a limb and check it out… and I was very pleased!
After checking out the website, I made a reservation several weeks in advance via email with the owner, Chris. My party of 6 showed up at the business around 11:45 as the tour began at noon. When we first drove up, I was a little skeptical of what we had gotten ourselves into. This facility is actually the back yard of the owner’s house.
We started the tour by checking out some pricey and rare turtles and then continued to see alligators, crocodiles, more turtles (that we got to feed), wart hogs, a capybara, elands and snakes. The guide, (Leland, I believe was his name) was incredibly knowledgeable and fun. The owner and his wife were present for part of the tour. You could really tell this place is a labor of love for their family. The crocs and gators weren’t too hungry on the day we visited. The owner said they usually save their appetites for the horse meat, as the meal for the day I visited was chicken.
For a two hour tour and $ 9 a person, this is an incredible value! In addition to the tours at the house, they also do parties. I’m not sure of the cost, but I can imagine these would be just as interesting and fun as the tour.
I will definitely be back to this place, as I believe it’s a new experience every time you go. I see so many people posting in the talk threads ideas for out-​of-​towners, and I would def recommend this place!

We had Chris and Jade from Crocodile Encounter come to my son’s 5^th birthday party and it was a huge hit! Not only were the kids (ages 2 – 9) mezmerized, but the adults were too. They engaged the whole group with the show! We would recommend them to anyone wanting to have a one of a kind experience for their event. Thanks so much Chris!

Crocodile Encounter has a great traveling show. Two performers and 5 big boxes of reptiles. I encountered them at a 7-​yr old’s birthday party. The adults were as enchanted as the kids.
The performers (Leonard and Jennifer?) took out one reptile at a time, told us about it, and (for some) took them around to be touched and petted. Skinks and snakes and huge turtles and lizards I’d never seen before. Pus, as the finale, the two crocodiles (~3 yr old, 2′ long ea.)
Leonard (who’s maybe 21) did an incredible job of both handling the lizards and also giving an excellent, informative, entertaining and continuous patter. Jennifer played second string, took the animals around and chatted with the kids, getting many children who were initially afraid of the reptiles to smile and stroke their backs.
Leonard didn’t have a price list, but told me that a show like this — for a birthday or entertainment at a dinner or church event — runs roughly $ 250 for the Houston area. I was wowed.
