Clancy’s Fancy Hot Sauce

I fell in love with Clancy’s Fancy when I was in school in Ann Arbor, and have continued to order it online since moving away. Their online store is easy, and the customer service is really great. Quick delivery, not to mention the hot sauce is delicious!

By far, my favorite hot sauce of all time. Uniquely original, bursting with flavor, and as good now as it was the first time I tried it many, many years ago. It’s been a long time since I lived in Ann Arbor, but every time I taste Clancy’s Hot Sauce, it feels like I’m back in town, sitting at the Del Rio and life is pretty awesome.

I don’t have any sort of hometown nostalgia toward this sauce, so I was able to evaluate it on quality and taste as well as price. Based on that, I found the sauce to be ok but VERY overpriced for the quantity and quality. It tastes remarkably close to Frontera Red Pepper hot sauce, which is about half the price for twice the quantity. Clancy’s lacks flavor and I felt like I had to use a lot to really get a taste of it. I will try the extra hot variety, but as of right now I am disappointed.

A native of Michigan, and spending a lot of time in Ann Arbor, Clancy’s was a staple at many of the area restaurants I frequent.
But after moving to DC, I sadly forgot about these beloved special juices. But then, ohhh yes, then, I received an email from Clancy’s promoting their online store. And I had to give in.
Their hot sauce is rich and deep in flavor, unlike many of the other bottles you can pick up. This stuff ads heat, but also complexity to whatever you put it on. I am a big fan of putting it on pizza and sandwiches, but have tried it on many other things as well.
When I ordered my bottle of hot, they were running a promotion to get a bottle o xtra hot for free. So it was settled. Xtra hot would be coming to work with me and living at my desk, and hot stays home locked safely away.
I suggest you get some. I know it’s a bit more than that $ 2 crap you usually use, but Clancy’s is worth every cent and I know you will become an addict. Just give in now.

While eating dinner at Zingerman’s Roadhouse our server suggested I try Clancy’s Fancy. I did try it and was so impressed by it’s flavor that I special ordered some. The flavor is unlike any hot sauce I have tried before and I have tried a lot of them. It’s on the pricier side, but the quality of the ingredients are evident when you taste it. You can get cheap hot sauce almost anywhere, but Clancy’s Fancy is as refined as it’s name suggests. Hot sauce fans should try it!!!
