Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Ann Arbor Univ. Michigan Area

Nice clean hotel with good food and friendly staff. In my latest stay of two nights no one from housekeeping bothered to make up the rooms on the first floor. On a Saturday night this place was so short staffed. One at the front desk, and two in the restaurant. One waiting tables and one cooking. The hotel was full! Manager Mark went out of his way to make it right. Will stay again!

Friendly and efficient front desk staff. Rooms are clean and well kept up.
Area is mostly other hotels, office buildings, and the mall. But an easy drive to the University of Michigan campus.

My online reservation got lost, they made me wait 20 minutes at the counter to figure it out and wanted to charge me more than the confirmation e-​mail I showed them before finally agreeing to honor the price. Some of the staff were rude. The food their was not very good. Overall you could do much better in the Ann Arbor area hotel wise.

Clean, quiet, comfortable. Very pleasant stay. Definitely would stay again. I’m adding this sentence because Unilocal,apparently not a fan of pithy, says the first two sentences were not enough to post.

I have stayed here twice a year for the last 4 years that my twin daughters were U Mich students. Each fall, I stay here for a 7−8−9 days at a stretch.
I have stayed at the Four Seasons, the Ritz, George V in Paris. While this isn’t one of those, it is always extremely clean with comfortable beds and sheets. Clean, new feeling bathrooms.
I am very particular about hotels — most give me the creeps.
This one is always reliably clean & new feeling.
Mark the Manager is always present (in a good way) in the hallway, in his office right off the lobby or at the front desk.
I have not eaten here, or used the gym or pool facilities.
Coffee is always available in the lobby — no charge. & their business enter has always been clean & functional.
The location was always ideal for me — 5 minutes from campus. Plenty of convenient parking.
I ate at The Produce Stand on State Street on the way in to campus.
I highly recommend this hotel. For me it was my home away from home when I was moving my daughters back into school and visiting on Mom’s weekend.

Great hotel! Close to downtown, and The Big House, and all staff were outstanding!
Came into town on Friday for the Michigan spring game, and the Michigan Lacrosse game… it was pretty busy with fellow Michigan fans! The check in process was fast. Our first night we didn’t do much as we were extremely tired from the long drive.
We got a standard two full size beds room and had four adults and a one year old. The beds were extremely comfy, only thing was, it was super warm in the room even with the air conditioning on full blast.
Our second night we took advantage of the hot tub, and pool. The pool area was nice and clean, just was out of towels. We also took advantage of the hotel bars happy hour while watching the final four NCAA game! 2 dollars for a 16 ounce, and 3 dollars for a 24 ounce!
Overall a great experience at this hotel! They even do a shuttle to the stadium during football season. Only thing I would say was a little annoying was that they didn’t have Continental Breakfast. So be sure to bring some bfast foods.

This is a great hotel. I’ve stayed here many times and the staff is well trained, very helpful and always friendly. I like the pool, workout room and the fact my room is always very clean.

Not bad, not great. Located in the south side of campus, it was a little ways away from the downtown area which was OK. The room was clean but wasn’t anything special.
The kid checking me in clearly didn’t know what he was doing even though the manager was standing right behind him. I reserved a King bed room but he put me in a room with two kid-​sized twin beds without saying a word about it. When I went down to ask, they said the only thing they had left was a handicapped room so I took that. I’m an IHG rewards member but wasn’t offered one of the goodie bags they had behind the counter. You would think they would save the rooms that at least their rewards members had reserved but oh well.
Wi-​Fi was very slow. OK for e-​mail but not for streaming video.
All of those things are easily forgivable but it leads to be overall rating of «OK» rather than being overly impressed.

The room I was in was so dirty. The carpet, bedspread and sofa were just gross. I wouldnt walk on the floor without shoes. I took the comforter off the bed because I didn’t want to touch it. I found a condom wrapper on the floor next to the bed!!! I kid you not! Disgusting. Don’t stay here– there’s a reason it’s so cheap…

We stayed here for one night while visiting Ann Arbor. When we entered the hotel lobby, there were two other people waiting for someone at the desk but no employee was in sight. We waited, we looked at our watches, we shouted Hello. Eventually we found them at the bar chatting away.
Other than that, all I can say is that breakfast does NOT come with the room! They make you pay $ 7 or $ 8 for some crappy continental breakfast. Oh well.
The hotel is fine, nothing too bad and nothing too good.

Good news: New hotel, rooms clean, gym and pool area nice, friendly staff. Nice place to SLEEP — not eat.
Bad news: Kitchen is weak. Breakfast buffet (not free like Holiday Inn Express, here you have to pay) is uninspired, a few scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt, cereal. Ho hum.
Really bad news: Dinner = awful. Ordered a steak — it was half overcooked half undercooked. Mashed potatoes were reconstituted from box mix, not real potatoes. Salad was good. I’ve had the hamburger here before, not bad but not great.
Bottom line: This place is a bar with tables, and bar food is what they do best. Avoid the entrees, go for the appetizers — hot wings, artichoke dip, cheese sticks — you’ll be happier.

Stayed here for a single night while working in the Jackson area. There are lots of hotel around this area so you have a lot of selection. Holiday inns seem to be prevalent in the area so I decided to be a holiday in guy for this business engagement.

Stayed here for a few nights this week. The hotel is fairly new so expect a decent bed and bedding, wifi, decent cardio equipment in the gym, working hot-​tub, ect. In older hotels in this chain, I have seen much worst. Overall, I think this hotel has everything you would need. The location is also good if you are looking for shopping and restaurants. The hotel restaurant has a surprisingly good menu and reasonable prices. It is a small restaurant/​bar so it is more for a meal when you do not feel like dining out. There are other dine in and fast food restaurants essentially in the same parking lot as well. There are a handful of competing hotels in this area so I was unsure where I wanted to stay. I think if I returned I would stay here, even over some of the higher «Star» rating hotels as this Holiday Inn is newer and has all the essentials.
