Have bought two mowers from this place. Rather than hop on line and quickly order a new traction cable, decided to give this local shop my money. Big mistake. Rude and unwilling to even ‘look’ for part in her computer without me first knowing the exact model number. Exact model sitting 20′ away outside the door and she refused to even walk out and look. Oh well, never again. I drove home, spent less than 5 minutes online, cable shipped from Repair Clinic(Canton, MI) same day. Maybe only a $ 25 item this time, but Wow, really?

Just had my Toro single-stage snow-blower serviced. They’d estimated it would take a week or two given the early winter season rush. They had it done in two days! It probably helped that it didn’t need any exotic parts. Total cost was as originally estimated. Thank you !

If they ever give Ann Arbor an enema they will stick the tube in this joint. High price, misogynist and rude.

Ok, start out straight horrible service!!! I brought in a saw(which we only used for three times) to them to take a look at it because it was hard to get started, they told me it will take 2 weeks at least for someone to take a look at, I left it with them and got a call couple days ago telling me that the cost to repair would be the same for a brand new chain saw. I went in the same day to pick up the saw only to find it taken into pieces, parts are missing(I know this because I took it apart my self to look at it and i puted everything back together before i took it in to them with all the parts assembled). When I asked them why didn’t they put it back together like how we brought it in, only she told me: «that would be point less, it’s not working and you would have to pay for his time to put it all back together!» Horrible service!!! Will never go back!

After waiting nearly two weeks for some mower blades to come in at the«W» place, hubby got tired of calling and waiting. We decided to try Larry’s. First we called to have the blades set aside and then we stopped by for them when we were out on errands. It seems that there are a lot of lawn service people who are regulars there. The desk people know them by name.

SHOCKINGLYBAD service! My mom and I wanted to buy a Stihl product from Larry’s, because it’s a local business and we support local businesses. Unfortunately, I have had nothing but bad experiences there over the last two and a half years. I have found their service to be very distant feeling, and I have been passed over in line a few times for customers that they seem to have familiarity with. The service at Larry’s makes me feel marginalized as a customer, and I couldn’t help but to notice the mission that they have for customer service behind their counter… and based on their guiding principles, I refuse to spend another dollar at Larry’s. In another two separate occasions, I was overcharged for a procedure that I did not ask for and was supposed to be covered under warranty. Then, this year I was charged more than I was quoted on the phone, and was again up-charged for a part that I did not want put on my machine and was not even in new condition. It was completely outrageous! I hope that this review will help Larry’s better appreciate their customers in the future. I miss Shaman Drum, Border’s, and David’s Books, but quite honestly– I’d rather shop at Sears. If you don’t believe me, ask anyone mowing their private lawn. Larry’s favors contractors over the average person. They don’t care if they get your business.

I walked into Larry’s Mower Shop and decided to just tell them what I wanted: I don’t want to read any brochures, I don’t care much about specs or ratings, but I want a mulching mower that works. They sold me my Toro, assembled it, filled it with oil and gas, and sent me on my way. I like my mower(and Larry’s Mower Shop) far more than I like my stupid lawn. I also bought my chainsaw there, and they serviced my old Toro Wheelhorse tractor.

I haven’t used my lawn edger in ages, so when I tried to use it, guess what, it wouldn’t start… so after trying many times, I decided that it needed to go to hospital to get repairs… I googled and found Larry’s Mower Shop, called and asked how long it would take to get it fixed… they told me it’d be about 1.5 weeks. I dropped it off on a Friday, put a $ 35 deposit… the guy told me that since it didn’t require a major work, it should be fixed in about three business days… I was happy because I would get the machine back sooner then what I had hoped. So I didn’t get a call from them after a week, but didn’t really bother calling, since I’d figure they would call me… well… after a week passed, one of the tech called and said what the problem was and how much it would cost… he also told me that they had to special order the part, since they didn’t have it… asked him how long that would all take? reply was few days to get the part and get it fixed… Fast forward another week… got a call stating the edger was fixed… so the whole things took over two weeks… i guess i shouldn’t complain… but what ever happened to the 3 days to fix the issue??? oh well…

Larry’s Mowers — Ann Arbor, Our friend, an elderly lady existing only on social security, had bought from or had items serviced at Larry’s Mower shop for longer then most have lived here, however no longer. The story isn’t typical for Ann Arbor business but a surprise as her new roughly $ 450 lawn mower needed repair after the 2nd use. A new carburetor was required and was replaced. A little inconvenient but we all know things happen. The next time she needed to cut her lawn it wouldn’t start so off to our friendly mower repair again, needed something different — fixed. A new issue the 4th time but different and now needing something else. Well needless to say enough is enough, so our nice little elderly lady friend requests they refund her money. You would have thought she asked them to go bankrupt. After a frustrating negotiation, management gets back with her and gave her a refund minus 10% for what we can’t figure out. This is one of the most unprofessional acts I have heard of for a long time and I hope this note finds it way to them and many Ann Arbor customers. As for us — forget us buying here, ever, there are plenty of others who stand behind their business and products. Jack and Lynn Ann Arbor, MI48103
