What an awesome surprise to see The Stop among the Mark’s Carts offerings this year!
When I spent a semester studying in Beijing, jian bing was a late night snack staple for us students. In the years since, I’ve missed it dearly and haven’t seen it for sale in the states until now!
Jian bing is a handheld savory northern Chinese crêpe. The original is really authentic and comes with the traditional egg fried right into the crêpe. The Stop offers sausage, chicken, bacon, and supreme versions, too. I keep ordering the original so I can’t comment on the meat items.
The staff are super nice– they offered complimentary mini cream puffs and pear drinks to those of us who had been waiting for our food. They certainly churn out food quickly, but their popularity this evening made for long lines.
