I’m new to the area and needed to find a new place to get my brows done, I picked a great place! Friendly staff, Rebecca did my brows and did a great job. A little more expensive than what I’m used to paying but I’ll definitely be back!

I’ve never been to get a Brazilian before coming to this salon. I was very nervous. After my first wax, I started getting waxed here every few months. Very fast, and not too painful. I will continue to come here in the spring & summer months. It’s worth driving 20 minutes to get a wax!

The staff told me the best way to get through brazilian wax is to get it done really fast. It was a extremely painful process, even though I have done it many times with other institutes. It is likely the problem of the soft wax they used.

Clean place. Pleasant staff. Rebecca is helping me reshape my brows after too many poor wax jobs by my talented and well meaning hairstylist. Take the time to go to a place that just does waxing.

Best Brazilian wax ever. I will never go to a salon or spa to have it done again. It was clear to me that Stacey specialized in waxing. She was very fast, which is sooooo important with a Brazilian because it is PAINFUL. And she was really efficient and it seemed she knew right where to put the wax and how much to use to get it done faster.

I’ve been going here for about four years, and in my opinion it is the best place to get a wax in Ann Arbor. The two estheticians are the two owners, and both make you feel so comfortable in what can sometimes be an uncomfortable situation. Not only are they so friendly, but they are QUICK. In and out in 15 minutes for a wax? Yes please!
The big bowl of lollipops in the waiting room is an added bonus too! Definitely recommend The Wax Loft to anyone looking for a clean, good, professional wax.

I had heard great things about the Wax Loft so I decided to try it out for myself. I went to get a simple eyebrow wax that I was in desperate need of. Let me tell you ladies: you MUST have a good esthetician for a successful eyebrow wax. Last summer I went to a place that was not so great and he took off half of my eyebrow. FYI, eyebrows take FOREVER to grow in. So I was stuck with 1.5 eyebrows and some weird looks for several months. Never again.
I was SO HAPPY after getting my brows done at the Wax Loft. Stacy did my wax and she was personable and chatty. She waxed all around my brows and then plucked the little hairs that the wax missed. I was in and out in 10 minutes, which was perfect for my busy schedule that day.
The ambiance of the place was great too. I loved the color scheme and it didn’t have that lame spa music playing in the background. It was warm and welcoming. I will definitely, definitely go back! Ann Arborites: this is THE place to get waxed!

Just had my brows waxed by Rachel (sp?). It was quick, painless, and a well-​done job. I’m very blonde so it can be hard to see the stray hairs, but Rachel got them all! I will return next time I need my brows done!

This place is great. I have had some awful experiences with Brazilian waxes before. I paid $ 100 one time and the wax lasted 1.5 hours. I left the appointment shaking from the pain. At Wax Loft, it took less than 20 min to remove hair that had been shaved multiple times and was fully grown in. The pain was minimal and everyone was super friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that needs a wax in Ann Arbor.

Without going into too much detail, I had put off finding a new waxer since moving to A2 in August and had refriended my razor. Every time I shaved, I imagined the disapproving look on my previous esthetician’s face and vowed to make time in my schedule to do my research and find a new lady (imagine how hard it is to find a new hair stylist and multiply that by 10 because we’re talking about hair down there!) So yeah… 5 months later, I’m still shaving.
Then, as if it were meant to be, waxing came up in conversation with another one of my girlfriends who also recently moved for school. She said she’s been getting everything (arms, legs, EVERYthing) waxed for years and highly recommends Wax Loft. Who am I to doubt the opinion of an expert on the matter, I’ve only been waxing body hair for a year!
So I call and make an appointment, show up, fill out some paperwork, and before I knew it, I was in a small room showing some stranger what I’ve been growing out for 5 weeks (hair needs to be at least ½″ long) for this special occasion. ). Hilarious but spot on accurate. 15 minutes of attempting to carry on a normal conversation passes and she says the magic words, «alright, you’re all done!» I was in disbelief. My first brazilian wax took a good 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes of tweezing. Without breaking out a tweezer at all, I thought for sure she must’ve missed some hairs. But you know what, when I finally got the courage to look down after she left the room, she didn’t miss any. Amazing.

Price: $ 55 for a brazilian (I got the «buy 6, get 1 free» package, which comes out to about $ 47 each)
Final verdict: Yes, absolutely go, especially if you are a UM student (10% off with student ID)

I really liked this place. I mostly give it 5 starts because of how quick this girl did the work. This girl was done with my brazilian in 10 minutes! it was great. A brazilian will never be fun so why try to go slow with it? just get it done. The owner did not care to know anything about me, she was absolutely quiet as she did it, which might be what is ticking people off so much about the place. She may come off as pretty rude. But really, this girl is just waxing your privates, she doesn’t need to be your friend so get over it, I had better waxing here than I’ve had at places where the waxer wants to know everything about me. I did notice more irritation than usual afterwards, I’m not sure if it is the after-​wax lotion they provide.
They use a combination of hard and soft wax.
I will definitely be going back.

I have been a patron of the Wax Loft for a few months now and while I like it alot the limited hours are a bit frustrating. If you are a student at the University then the Wax Loft is definitely for you. The Wax Loft mirrors the University’s schedule so if the students are on break then so is the Wax Loft. I don’t want to discourage anyone from going to the Wax Loft but I certainly want others to be aware of the schedule.

The Wax Loft is my new go-​to for waxing in Ann Arbor.
I called for a same day appointment and the receptionist scheduled me in no problem. All I needed done were my eyebrows and I was in and out in under 10 minutes. The staff were all incredibly friendly and professional. My wax was thorough and almost painless. I was impressed — and at just $ 15, they set me up to be a repeat customer.

Excellent price for a bikini wax at $ 25. Very clean and comfortable. Looks modern and very friendly service.
I had Rebecca who was very personable and quick. There was no waiting time and they provided disposable waxing underwear, touch up tweezing, a warm damp cloth with wax remover as well as aloe vera gel. They do not double dip here in the wax and use a high quality wax!

Went to the Wax Loft for the first time last week while in town from Atlanta. Convenient location, great prices, and friendly people! Next time I’m in town– I’ll definitely be back!

This was the most horrific waxing experience I have ever had. I recently moved from San Francisco and tried to find a great place for my first Ann Arbor Brazilian, and chose the Wax Loft, despite their very mixed reviews.
OMG it was horrible. I am one of the few, crazy people who doesn’t mind getting waxed and in fact don’t really feel a thing. I have NEVER been in so much pain from a wax before. My waxer worked SO fast and I felt like I was being attacked. She missed several spots and hairs and left me with so many in-​grown hairs.
It was painful, incomplete and totally horrible. Trust the bad reviews. Go see Lauren at Bellanina.

I’ve had many waxes done in many different salons, and all in all, this one was pretty terrible.
On the bright side, Rebecca was very nice, and the eyebrow waxing — while done far too quickly to be trusted — turned out alright. The student discount is also a plus.
Unfortunately, I got a horrible rash on my underarms from either the wax or the awful cream she uses, and the rest of the waxing was just sloppy. I was left with bits of wax on my body, which I’m sure further irritated my skin.
I really wanted to have a good experience here, but in all honesty, it was just bad.

So… I almost went back to the Wax Loft to complain about the rash they gave me, but I was certain that would be awkward, and would get nothing accomplished. I mean, what are they going to say? We’ll do it again for free? No, thanks. I’d rather try my luck somewhere else.
Three days ago I got a standard bikini wax. The waxed areas are still red and sore. Additionally, the actual waxing hurt much, much more than I remember from previous waxing excursions at other establishments. And I’ve only ever gotten full Brazilians before, so it’s certainly not because I’ve become increasingly squeemish.
Perhaps I’m more sensitive to the «strip» method? My previous waxer used a different method. She had a giant piece of taffy-​looking wax, which she would stretch onto the area, and then yank off without the use of paper strips. If anyone out there is familiar with someone in town who uses this method, please let me know!
That said, I was a walk-​in, and I was being waxed in 20 minutes. Perhaps that should have been a clue? The student discount is awesome. The staff was quite friendly and I felt comfortable in the waxing room, if you ignore the searing pain.

I just went to The Wax Loft for the first time for a Brazilian wax and highly recommend Stacy, who was incredibly friendly and efficient. The wax used was of such high quality that my sensitive skin wasn’t irritated at all and the pain factor was significantly lower than any waxing experience I have ever had.
