To breast cancer surgeries in the last four years — granted they involved Dr. Lisa Newman who left in late November for Henry Ford. The staff at U of them for the most part have been outstanding down to physicians stopping in the hallway with friendliness enthusiasm to walk you to the correct elevator our room for testing procedures. This last cancer treatment so far has been about a half $ 1 million through totally covered by my insurance. I would say 95% of the staff be it in the hospital stay, recovery room or surgical Arena could not have been more present organized, confident and kind. Kidded them –they must be shown a lot of love and good pay to be so outstanding. One Nurse who was checked out, clumsy, accidentally hurt me a number of times while I was staying for six days post surgery and when I asked politely about not having another shift with her, her I found out it’s OK to ask to have a different nurse in fact it’s a common thing and met with friendliness and compliance FYI Unfortunately one of the few unpleasant staff was my plastic surgeon. Did a brilliant job but his bedside manner is discouraging and hurtful. What a dilemma? Do I leave this wonderful system to get a different surgeon but have less than good hospital experience.

Incredibly strict late policy for patients, but twice now I’ve arrived on time and waited in a room for an hr over my apt time before the doctor walked in. They should give their doctors the same late policy or at the very least give their patients a heads up. Other than that the doctors, treatment, and service is good.

Terrible for maternity care. You have to pay to park and MOST of the time parking lot is full then you have to pay extra to valet which also is full. Then wait one hour to see someone other than your doctor. Every wellness visit takes at least two hours where you see a variety of people all for nothing. I would see a different doctor each visit where I would hear different things from each one.

Terrible! They kept me for 48 hours for nothing, giving me «possible» diagnostics based on nothing and left without an answer anyway. The doctors and the rest of the staff were awful! So rude and inconsiderate. I come from a third world country and I have never been so poorly treated in a hospital. I guess all they say about hospitals being only money making businesses and no care for the patients is true when it comes to this one.

This place holds a couple of my happiest moments on earth. I delivered both children here and both times it was a fun, relaxing and special experience. Not just the delivery days, but the whole 24 months(prenatal and post delivery care). To this day I feel majorly appreciative that we have such an awesome hospital in Ann Arbor. People from all over get transferred here! I’m not trying to gush… I know that no establishment is perfect but this place has done a better than average job caring for me and my family(and tolerating me when I am made to wait more than 20 minutes in a waiting room). On my «labor days» they didn’t have any rooms left with bath tubs so I treated myself to a nice epidural both times. They were both great(and if you think I’m weak for doing it, your right. And I’m not at all sorry). The nurses pampered me with Popsicles, broths, and cranberry juice. They were polite to all my guests and understanding to my husband(he had no problem laying down the law). I’m not telling my birthing story because I never enjoy hearing anyone else’s in detail but they were just very caring. The lactation consultants were super helpful and the breast pumps looked like something Henry Ford built. The visiting nurses, pediatricians and birth certificate people were pretty accommodating about letting you rest or eat when you needed some time and give you space and privacy to do so. Glad we went with this hospital. It felt like a bed and breakfast with state of the art hospital equipment.

Saved my life at least 5 times n 25 years. Surgery staff amazing. Rooms comparable to a hotel. Drs are amazing thorough and actually care. Pharmacy has very. Comparative pricing actually surprising low prices and obvious has hard to find medicines. DOnt go at the end of the month Or he first of the month to the pharmacy if you be prepared to wait a bit extra if your dropping your script and waitin for your medicine. If your able to call it in its the shortest wait time jus. A few minutes.

First of all, I have no idea why there are separate billing departments for doctors and hospital services. I’m sure there *is* a reason, and it probably even makes sense. I kind of wish they explained it on their website. Even if it makes sense internally to have the departments separate, it seems like it would be in their best interest to present a more integrated face to the outside/consumer/patient world. They seem to have the same mailing address, so why aren’t their communications smoother? All I know is that it sometimes just leads to double annoyance. If I have a problem or a request, I often have to talk to folks in both billing dept. s, and they don’t seem to have transferring calls or communication down very well. Several times I’ve ended up with the first operator telling me the second line is simply too busy, and to call back later. Since talking about medical billing or sitting on hold are not my favorite hobbies, I wasn’t particularly thrilled at the fun prospect of calling again, though of course I did(had to!). Here’s the secret, though, folks. I think I may have found a better way to track down receipts, and potentially solve weird-looking things on your bill. Here’s the trick that saved me at least 30 minutes and a lot of aggravation. If you have a receipt to request or an otherwise simple issue, just use the online form/email here: I got an answer within two workdays, and it was clear, concise and understandable. Thank goodness! So, as long as I can keep my transactions this simple, A-OK. If I have to go back to the phone monkey business, I’m not sure I can say the same!
