Their Peruvian chicken is delicious! Always my go to when I’m craving some, which I usually take to go. You can tell this place is good because there can be a wait. I really like their yellow and green sauce here because it’s not too thick and chunky like some other similar places.

Came here right after the Blizzard of 2016 because I needed comfort after shoveling 2 feet of snow. Honestly, I come here anytime I feel like crap and do not know why. I really like their food. The chicken is decent, but I like the white rice and french fries more. I usually order the quarter dark because I am not a fan of dry chicken meat. This place gets quite busy, especially during peak lunch and dinner hours. You can call ahead and place an order, IF someone picks up the phone… otherwise, get in line my friend!

Good little local chicken place in Annandale. My family always grabs chicken from here. The service was quick so long as you don’t come at peak hours. The line can go out the door. I’ve had their chicken several times over the years and I can’t complain. They also have different dishes you can try like lomo saltado, asado, etc. Pricing is pretty normal for peruvian chicken. The only gripe is your 2nd side with a whole chicken can only be salad or rice. I want 2 yucca sides dang it. Give it a try, if you can find parking.

When I have a crave for Peruvian chicken, this is where I’d prefer to go to. This little place can get busy around lunch time but the waiting time is pretty reasonable. I usually get a quarter or half of a chicken depends on how hungry I am. The skin is so good because it absorbs all the flavor. The meat is usually tender and juicy enough. Never been dry. Oh! Yuca fries are always crispy!

This is my absolute favorite place for takeout! The chicken is delicious and tender — you can just pull it off the bone! If you’re a fan of the skin its worth having, it isn’t hard or crispy but soft and flavorful, almost melts in your mouth. I always get their ceviche, tangy and doesn’t fill you up so you have room for the pancita(tripe). Their yuca and fries are to die for with the white sauce they give you. Take home a horchata as well, its wonderfully sweet and authentic. The only downsides are the parking is pretty tight(noticeable as soon as you turn into the lot) and the line is long but the wait time for the food is very reasonable, maybe 10 minutes at most. The cashier is bilingual so the line flows at a steady rate. Despite those shortcomings I definaty suggest you try this place out! You’ll probably see me, I go once a week.

Writing this in contrast to my previous review. These people know how to do Peruvian Rotisserie! Hands down one of the best in the are. Always fresh, never dry. Ample portions and great customer service!

The food is great, but there costumer service? At time it’s great and at times can be the complete opposite. Just make sure you do not go during the weekends especially on Saturday’s that’s when you will receive poor service.

Had to wait half an hour for my order while they gave food to 20 people who ordered after me. I asked the guy what happened to my order and he looked at me like I was being impatient(my number was 99 and they were on order 117). Waited another 10 minutes after speaking to the cashier lady again and she told me they lost my order receipt and I had to wait a couple minutes to get my food. After all that debacle they didn’t even offer even a free drink. Food was ok.

The best place for Peruvian Pollo A La Brasa. This place always delivers. The chicken is always fresh off the rotisserie and they seem to have the seasoning just right, sometimes when I was in Peru I would be eating chicken from a restaurant and think«Chicken Pollo is better than this, whoa» the sauces are soo good too, I can’t lie they aren’t very consistent with their green(sometimes really spicy and sometimes not at all) but delicious nevertheless. I love their salad and dressing it’s so simple but so crisp and good! Ah chicken pollo is just #1 for chicken in this area and trust me, I’ve tried many others! I can’t speak for their other plates cause I’ve basically only stuck to the chicken these pay years, I’ll probably never try anything else but hey why fix something if it’s not broken? ;)

I absolutely love this place! I’ve lived in the Annandale area my whole life and nothing beats it! The prices are reasonable and the food is always delicious. I usually get it to go because there isn’t always seating inside. Highly recommend!(Get extra yellow sauce).

I would never have imagined going to Annandale for Peruvian Chicken. But the truth is, I found one of the best Peruvian chicken places! Their chicken was much more flavorful than all the other ones I’ve had(and mind you, those were pretty good already!) and very juicy, very tender. A lot of times, only the skin was flavorful and not so much the meat itself. This place, however, was for some reason able to make the meat underneath the skin flavorful! A+ They don’t have a huge variety of sides, so this is the only upperhand that Super Chicken has. Speaking of sides, Chicken Pollo’s rice is ADDICTING! I don’t know what they put in it, but it has this delicious flavor that I just can’t get over. I am committed to this place for life… if they keep up the quality :)

3 Steamed Baos sitting there looking ready to be eaten. (Quick review checklist): [X] I’d eat here again. [X] I’d recommend this to someone [ ] One time deal, wouldn’t come back Order: ½ Chicken Chicken is good… not much else to say. They do charge for extra sauce and they are stingy on green sauce… ½ a chicken and you get 1 yellow and 1 green sauce. Tip: Place gets packed so be prepare to wait for your order. Call ahead if you know what to order.

I wanted to try this place because a friend recommend it to me. My original impression was it seemed very small and kinda like a hole in the wall. But don’t let this keep you from coming here. The service was excellent and the food even better. I had the chicken of course it couldn’t have been any better! If you haven’t tried it yet I recommend you do.

I love this place! One time they forgot to put 2 sauces extra sauces with my meal and the cashier personally went and got me 2 for free to make up for it. The chicken is delicious, fries are good, and the rice is good. The only thing is the portions of the sides are kinda small for the price. I love this place, I come here at least once a week sometimes twice. The girl cashier is incredibly nice and friendly and it’s an overall good environment. You can also place orders over the phone for pick up so you don’t have to wait for the food to be done. Even though it usually doesn’t take more than 15 minutes to wait, calling ahead is still nice. Love this place.

Sometimes you just need some hot, juicy chicken that isn’t from your grocery store’s hot food section. Chicken Pollo is always poppin’ — the lines can get quite brutal, especially around dinner time. My parents have been coming here for years, and it’s just one of those reliable places to go if you’re not in the mood to cook. I see most patrons taking their orders to-go, but they do have a seating area around the back of the restaurant for those that want to dine in. For as long as I’ve been eating Chicken Pollo’s food, I can’t speak to anything on the menu except the chicken and the fried plantains. I would say that the chicken can be a hit or miss here. On some days the chicken is so juicy and flavorful, but on other days I have found the chicken to be on the dry, flavorless side. The fried plantains aren’t my fave; they can be really coarse and difficult to swallow. I’m aware that plantains are naturally starchy in texture, but I can only eat the plantain’s at Chicken Pollo if I cut them into tiny, bite-sized pieces. FYI — extra green & yellow sauce costs 25 cents each, but if you’re a heavy sauce user, I highly recommend paying the extra 50 cents for them.

3.5 stars I visited Chicken Pollo on a Friday around 5 P.M. to pick up 2 whole chicken’s for dinner. 1 Whole chicken w/out sides is $ 13.99. Parking here is pretty limited so I would not recommend coming at a peak hour, you probably would have to wait awhile for a parking spot to become available. At 5 P.M. the line was not too long and I was able to place my order pretty quickly. I believe I waited around 5 minutes for my order to come out. I don’t usually eat Peruvian Chicken too often so I am amazed at how juicy the meat is. I usually eat Rotisserie chicken which is dry most of the time. Besides the juiciness the chicken is also very flavorful, dipping it in the sauces provided for you(green and yellow salsa) ensures a salivating experience. Having only ordered the chicken next time I want to try out their sides due to the variety and authenticity. Since I have only had Peruvian chicken at this one establishment I am not sure if this is the cream de la crème of pervuian chickens in NoVA. My girlfriend has had other places and she claims this place is the best she has had, however I want to be the judge of that. So for now, this is my go to place for Peruvian chicken unless I can stumble upon a better spot in the near distant future.

I’ve gone to this place several times over the past few years and have never really been amazed by them. However, last night will be the last time ever going there. 1. Customer Service — SUCKS 2. WAY Overpriced for mediocre chicken 3. Messed up my order So, my friends and I had a get together and I was to pick up 2 chickens with sides. I called in the order — 2 chickens, plantains, 2 yucca and salad(as 2 sides come with each chicken). Prior to making the call I checked their website — to see what their prices and sides were. Cool. $ 14.99 each chicken. First sign I should have listened to was the guy taking my order couldn’t care less — but hey, it’s 5pm… everyone wants to go home. When I arrive to pick up my food, the cashier rang me up. Of course we know we want extra sauces so I check with the cashier and ask her how many sauces come with the chicken. She said 2 yellow and 2 green for each whole chicken. UUUhhhhhmmmm… WHAT?! If I order ¼ chicken I get 1 yellow and 1 green. WHY would I only get 2 of each for a WHOLE chicken? Which I asked her. And she just gave me a blank look and said that’s what comes with it. Each additional sauce is $.25 each. Fine… I just want to get to my friends. I order 5 of each… what a rip of $ 2.50! Then she gives me the total $ 38 and some change. WHAT?! My quick math tells me something is wrong and ask for the print out of the charges. 2 Chickens $ 33. I asked the cashier why is she charging me so much for the chicken. She said the price for each is $ 16.99. I said no, I checked the website before placing the order and even showed it to her. She said, «Oh really? Hmmm. Well that’s not the right price.» and continued on with the next customer. So now, I just got jipped $ 2.00 for each chicken? So I just spent $ 6.50 more! Now to put that in perspective — that’s almost 1 hr pay for minimum wage workers, another chicken meal or 2 tanks of gas! I asked to speak to the owner. One of the guys said he’s «over there» and pointed towards the closet door marked«office». However, when knocked no one opened. By this time, I’m done. No one gave a crap and just gave me a shoulder shrug. I leave but just don’t think it’s right. I call and ask who the owner is. The worker said Walter White. — Ehhh. Ok. Then I get the Assistant Manager which I believe is Gustavo. Nice enough and said he would have the owner call me. He’s sorry that the customer service was so poor and that the website wasn’t updated but he’ll be sure to get the owner to call. It’s been 17 hours and no one has bothered. To top is off — when I get to my friends — I don’t have plantains but a side of french fries! =( Way to go Chicken Pollo. You officially suck. Pics of their website and menu board included.

Chicken Pollo Restaurant is family-owned and operated and is located in Annandale, behind Le Matin de Paris. Their menu offers a selection in Peruvian chicken(¼ chicken, ½ chicken, whole chicken), chicken soup, lomo saltado, anticucho, ceviche, fried rice, and sides(rice, beans, yuca, plantains, fries, tortilla, corn with cheese, etc.). My husband got a ½ chicken with 1 side to go(steak fries), that came with a cup of lettuce. He also tried the ‘Corn with Cheese,’ which was Peruvian(really big kernels!) with 2 slices of thick cheese. The chicken itself was roasted and had the familiar spices. The aji sauce was more on the thin/watered-down side, and had more of a mustard flavor to it. I wasn’t a fan of the fries as they had a weird aftertaste(maybe it was not cooked in clean oil?). I was glad I was able to finally try this place out as this place is always jam-packed with the locals. +aji was a little watery

Came here after working out at the gym and was sooooo hungry I ordered a ½ a chicken, which I should have just stuck to the ¼ white. You get salad plus a side dish(french fries or yucca), but I ordered double salad. I also ordered a side of plantains and I have to say these were the best in the area. I’ve tried many of the Peruvian places in the area: Super Pollo, El Pollo Rico, Edy’s, Chicken Place, Crispy & Juicy etc. so I can say that this place ranks in the top 3 of Peruvian chicken places. You first order at the counter and if you want to eat in, they told us to go ahead and take a seat and they would bring the chicken to us to the table. The food didn’t take that long and I personally scarfed my food down while dipping it in my favorite green spicy sauce because after working out, I was starving Marvin. I actually shared my plantains with my friend, but could have very well gobbled them up all by myself. The chicken was really moist and the skin was nice and crispy on the outside. The plantains were cut in good chunk sizes and were cooked to perfection. They were not greasy at all unlike some places in the area. They were perfectly delicious. I would totally recommend these for anyone that likes plantains. They also serve other dishes such as carne asada and lomo saltado, so I’ll have to come back and give those a try. Overall, a quality place to get some good Peruvian chicken. I’ll definitely come back for those plantains and try another dish based on my experience here.
