Went here for karaōke, and even though the price per hour is expensive it was fun. The reason why I’m giving 5 stars, because the customer service was very good. The guys checked up on our room to make sure we were doing fine and before starting our session they thoroughly explained how to use all the controls in the room. Exceptional manners from staff, would definitely come back again.

I’ve been to Dain twice now with groups of friends and have always had a good time. I made a reservation for a large group, which got larger as more people joined throughout the week, and the friendly guy whom I always spoke with on the phone was very accommodating. I wasn’t sure exactly how many people would end up being in the party, and he was very flexible accommodating our group into a large room($ 60/hr). If you’re not used to the setup of Noraebang bars, there are different sized rooms containing big couches, remote controls with countless buttons, and TVs that have the most hilarious background dancers you’ve ever seen. Dain’s song book hasn’t been updated in about 4 years, but if you need your Iggy fix, they do have newer songs available by searching by artist or title directly on screen. Once you get the hang of using the remote(searching by title/artist is the easiest way to go), it’s simple to put together a playlist of all the songs you and your friends want to sing your hearts out to. Ben, the friendly young guy who took us to our room, went out of his way to show everyone how to use the the remote and set up their playlist, which was really nice. Dain has a good setup, with working microphones(sometimes that’s a problem at other places) that you can turn OFF when needed. This is actually a really good thing, so that there’s no weird echo if only one person is singing. I discovered this time that you can also change the tempo and key of songs, which is loads of fun to do to put your friends on super-speed singing! One of my favorite things that reminds me of Korea is the yeogiyo button, a little red button you can press at any time to call someone in so that you can order things. If your place doesn’t have a button, it’s not legit! Their drink menu is fairly priced and has more options than I would expect at a noraebang. They also have a cooler with soju, if Korea’s national distilled beverage is your taste(just don’t get Chamisul – it’s the lowest quality and has a really sharp taste). Keep in mind that there’s an 18% service charge automatically applied to the bill, BUT it is included in the $ 60/hr price for a large room or $ 40/hr for a medium room. Tax, however, is not included up front, so be sure to factor that in. For our two hours and our group of just under 20 people, it was only about $ 9 per person, which is a good price. I’m itching to try Café Musé around the corner and see how it stacks up!

Definitely always have a great time here!!! Private rooms, prices aren’t bad at all, servers are kind not rude at all, very accommodating. Sucks they already charge gratuity on the check, but that’s a minor issue, also they need to provide more English and Spanish music.

18% service charge for the following: 1. Answering yes there are rooms available. 2. Walking to your room with you and two others. 3. Checking you out and giving you your bill. They CHARGE18% SERVICEFEEFORTHIS!!! 18% SERVICECHARGE??? I will be definitely contacting the Fairfax County and the IRS. I can’t see this as being legal. Ending up paying close to $ 15 in service fee. Ridiculous.

I absolutely love Dain Café & Karaōke! Among all the karaōke places I went to. This is the best one of all! Great place for party! Music are all updated ! And drinks and service are super! This is going to be one of my regular karaōke hang out. :)

Lots of a good things here: reasonable rates, good private booths, fairly limited but ok drink menu. A HUGE selection of songs in Korean(which is great) and a much smaller selection of songs in English(not as great). Service was fast, not super friendly, but not rude either.

Karaōke — Love the sound system they have in the private rooms. I think they recently upgraded. The bigger rooms have 2TV screens in the room, so people who want to stand up and sing can face the people who are sitting down. They also have colored lights that flash around the room, which creates a club like ambiance. Service — The young guy who waited on our room was pretty rude. For spending a few hundred dollars there, I expected better service. The bad service is the reason for only 3 stars. Alcohol — They sell liquor by the bottle, beer and soju. The liquor bottle is not allowed to be left in the room, so the waiter put it in shot glasses for us and refilled them as needed. We ordered a bottle of Johnny Black, which comes with 2 free hours of karaōke time. Hours — I think they stop serving alcohol between 1:30 and 2:00am like all other places. But the karaōke rooms are open way into the night.

I went to Dain Café & Karaōke after having dinner at the Honey Pig next store on 2÷14÷15 with some girlfriends. I was not looking forward to it(and when it was suggested and I thought about bailing). I am really glad I choose to stay. I had never been to karaōke bar with separate rooms. It made the karaōke experience so much better(I felt a lot more comfortable acting like a fool with people I know instead of in a bar). The drinks(although a little on the pricey side) are really delicious(and it was funny to order the drinks with some of the more crazy names). It brought my friends and I some laughter to watch the Korean videos that play with the songs you select. I also would have liked the option to turn on more lighting in the room to take some pictures. However those are relatively minor complaints and if I have the chance to go with the right group of people(i.e. friends that won’t judge my inability to sing) I would go again.

Clean room and bathrooms. Pretty good selection of songs. They didn’t have every song, but a good enough variety to keep our group of 40 year old Americans happy for 4 hours. We didn’t eat here, but the mixed drinks were strong and the beers cold :)

Dain was awesome! Went there to celebrate my 40th birthday and had a blast with 8 of my friends. The karaōke selection was good(we stayed for close to 3 hours with plenty of songs to sing in English. The service was great in the beginning but tapered off as the night went on, but that’s OK just went to the bar to order drinks. They had beer and mixed drinks, something for everyone. The private rooms were nice and clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were nice and clean. Overall I would recommend this place although it was pricing drinks and room for 8 people was $ 341 split equally.

FINALLY found a karaōke«box» place around here ! Most karaōke places I’ve seen are bars, and everyone sings around each other. Dain offers private rooms, so you can go in there with parties as small as 3 or as large as 10(I think). The English song selection is kind of small, but then again, this isn’t designed to cater to English speakers. They had mostly Korean songs, and a decent selection of Japanese songs. It’s kid friendly as well, and my daughter had a blast dancing to me and my wife singing(sometimes struggling) these songs. The rooms are cool, with disco lights and all, and the system is fairly modern; you search for and program your songs in with a remote control. Overall it was nice to find karaōke like this here, but don’t go in expecting the quality and variety you’d find at a Shidax or Big Echo club.

This was my first official karaōke experience. I had a fun time, but I think a huge portion of that had to do with the people I was with. Each party gets their own private room, which is nice if that’s what you’re looking for. Upon stepping into the café, we were escorted to a room. The host did not even care to explain a single thing. We did not know what we were getting ourselves into, nor did we ever get prices. It was nice that there was a service button available whenever we had drink or food requests, but other than that, the host seemed uninterested and kind of angry for doing his job. The experience itself and song selections were not too bad, but I prefer to go elsewhere next time.

Believe it or not, I actually was raised on karaōke. My parents loved singing karaōke at home(yes unfortunately they have the equipment) especially at Asian dinner parties and I would have to participate. I actually knew more old Chinese songs than modern ones because of this. Therefore, I’ve never been to an actual karaōke bar. Some friends arranged to sing karaōke at Dain one night. Amazingly, we didn’t all eat Honey Pig beforehand although I think since they share the same lot, Dain is a perfect post-Honey Pig excursion. After dinner, we met up at Dain for drinks and karaōke. It’s dark inside and there’s a bar when you first walk in. The karaōke rooms are all down a long hallway and it’s all individual, private karaōke rooms. These rooms are all soundproofed to the extreme so you can’t hear your next door neighbors trying to belt out a C4 note. In the rooms, there are cushioned benches stretching along the perimeter of the room, a table for drinks, a TV, and some audio equipment. There’s a buzzer in each room that you press when you need to call a server in. Songs are predominantly Korean but there’s a selection of English ones too. You certainly won’t get the entire repertoire but it’s a sizable amount for a couple hours of karaoking. They even had the Motto by Drake. You can search for songs while people are singing their renditions and add them on the TV. There’s a binder of songs and artists you can peruse or you can use the on-screen menu on the TV to do it. Service was fast when we ordered drinks. Whatever drinks we ordered though were a bit too sweet, but I knew I wasn’t coming here for the food/drinks but rather for the karaōke experience. Even though I don’t regularly go out to karaōke bars, I think this experience was a fun time with friends and definitely something new. Parking can be difficult sometimes since Dain does share the same lot as Honey Pig, which everyone knows can be a nightmare.

Simply, I like this place. The bartender Jennifer was always there when I went and she’s on top of her game. For a bilingual place I’m glad that English is the dominant language here. While some servers speak Korean and English, I’m just glad that I was understood here! Drinks we’re good. I don’t like heavy drinks so the bartender even offered to make something more fruity for me by altering a recipe they have there. I got the peach crush; a little pricey, but it’s peach, sprite and something hard added to it. For food I got the pizza pot-stickers. Truth be told my second time going here I went back just to eat those pot-stickers! They are GREAT! Though, I talked to someone there and apparently they have food off the menu so make sure to ask the Bartenders for something else you might be interested in. They might just have it available. The place is a little small, but I like sitting around the bar so the fact that the bar area itself is big enough to seat a few parties is convenient. Never tried the Karaōke yet. Why? Because every time I come here I always meet someone new who I can talk to for hours without wondering what time it is. It’s a great place to meet people. I’ve never had any awkward encounters so far. I’d come here again if I ever just wanted to chill and meet someone new. heck, maybe next time I’ll try the Karaōke!

Probably the best Karaōke /Dive bar/SPorts Bar/Closest Thing to a Club in Annandale. The owner and the staff, once you get to know them treat you like family. It took me a few trips to get to know them, but once they know you by name its a complete VIP treatment. The Atmosphere is absolutely electric. I love the DJs on the weekends playing at the main bar area. It is packed every friday and saturday night. It is just amazing how many people talk negatively about this place and yet, STILLCOME every single weekend. The Bartenders absolutely work their a$$ off to make you feel welcome. The wait staff took a while getting used to. However once you warm up to them, maybe hook them up with a «pre tip» $ 20 or so, they definitely go all out. Treat people like you want to get treated and it’ll come back double, Good or Bad. Food here is just ok. But then again, who comes here for the food? If you want food, go next door to honey pig. This place is a place of PARTYING. Don’t complain about the food at a karaōke bar~ lol Bottom Line: Definitely, Come here, Tip your staff well, it’ll come back. Get to know the people that visit here and work here. And Most importantly Have an amazing time. etc etc.

Since I don’t do karaōke unless I’ve consumed a significant amount of cocktails… and I didn’t drink anything that night… I can write this review completely objectively. Dain is a great karaōke place… various sized rooms to fit your crowd. They soundproofed the hell out of the rooms so you surprisingly can’t hear the peeps next to you belting out Bohemian Rhapsody(oh wait, that was us). The servers are responsive and nice. They have a huge book of songs but the only downer is only a small portion of it is in English. And that section is organized by song name and there’s no section organized by singer/band…so you have to do a lot of Googleing since I can’t remember song names to save my life. Good times… probably would have given it 5-stars if I’d been drinking.

I would actually give 3.5 stars. I recently went here with a group for a bachelorette party. For the most part, things were good. We rented a medium room, and it was available right away despite being during popular hours. The staff came in and helped get us set up. The screen was in Korean, so he helped switch to English. The mics make you sound great. The English song selection was pretty good, though a few key karaōke songs weren’t a choice. No Pour Some Sugar on Me, really? The Strawberry Shortcake shot was also yummy, and this from someone who doesn’t do shots often. However, it was disappointing that no one ever came to see if we wanted food or drinks. My friend had to go to the bar to order anything we wanted. After buying at the bar, she tipped the standard gratuity. Unexpected was that despite never coming to check in on us or get our order, we got charged an additional 18% gratuity when we paid for the room. Had they provided service, I would have been ok with that, but no service should mean no additional gratuity added IMO. Overall, I would probably return because the price per hour is better than most around. That said, I’ll make them earn the extra tip in the future.

Walking into this place was like walking into a strip club in Vegas in the middle of the day. It’s dark and there’s lots of flashy lights and it’s got an empty-ish feel, but the music is pumping. We saddled up to the bar and ordered a couple of beers. Happy hour lasts until 9:00pm. They also have an extensive cocktail list. Happy hour beer prices were $ 3 to $ 4. Note: There is a $ 20 minimum for using a credit card. There were tons of signs about not drinking beverages, particularly of the alcoholic kind, from other establishments. You will be prosecuted! I guess that must b a problem here. Oh, and there was a sign in the ladies room to put toilet paper in the trash and not flush it. That’s a new one. We didn’t actually karaōke here as we just stopped by for a quick drink. This is more of a private room karaōke spot. I kinda digged the strip club vibe. It’s an interesting place.

Fantastic! I’ll never forget my friend’s expression as we popped his Korean karaōke experience cherry. I’ve been to Dain a bunch of times now since it is our default karaōke venue after our KBBQ gorging. And maybe it’s because I’m usually coming off a bulgolgi stupor or already drunk on large bottles of Cass, but I always have a great time at Dain. The best part about any of these types of places is the complete mismatch between song lyrics passing across the screen while some generic Korean tragedy is playing in the background. And once you build up your list of songs, then just warm up those pipes and let it rip.

The bfff is in town so… We usually hit up various karaōke private room spots $ 30/hour — usual average price within area Friday night and the karaōke rooms are gettin’ packed Remote accompanied with english instruction sheet Appreciated using remote to locate english songs Search by singer or song — very convenient The system rates your performance(if you care) Sound in our room was spectacular Hot green tea caffeinates our performance — at $ 3.50 each it better Both mics performed well during 3-hour fest When stuck in traffic I veg to various contagious/annoying tunes You know how traffic is ’round here — I had many to belt out… Pestered the bfff’s ears with«I Wanna Go» by BS Settled for Korn’s version of «Word Up!» since Cameo was m.i.a. They’re good in my book for english-speakers Parking lot packed but plentiful Over age of 21 welcome — sorry kids You’re in our rotation now
