My husband and I got married nearly 3 weeks ago, and it feels like it could not have happened without the help of Jen from 2hands. If you are planning an event, here is my advice: stop reading this review, pick up the phone, and call 2hands. We didn’t utilize them for planning every last detail, though I’m sure if we did it would have been utterly fabulous. We were planning everything on our own. Then, about 2 months before the wedding, I started to stress — — there was so much that we needed to have organized and figured out and I had no idea where to begin! Sure it’s easy enough to decide on the«big» things like venue, photographer, invitations, etc. But it begins to get really crazy when you start thinking about the schedule, things like microphones and basically anything involving technology, how things are going to be brought to and from the venue, and so on and so forth. When I realized I had no answer to these questions and likely never would on my own I gave 2hands a call, at the recommendation of my florist, and spoke with Jen. The rest, as they say, is history. We utilized Jen for the month and day of the wedding, and that was the most peaceful, calm month of our entire year and a half long engagement. She met with us a month beforehand and already had a binder with all of our contracts. She took the initiative to contact each of our vendors and fleshed out final details, kept track of when payments were due and created the schedule for the day. She joined us for our final meetings with our DJ and with the venue. She came over to our apartment a week before the wedding to get all of our decorations and items that we needed her to bring to the venue, and the next time we saw them they were at the venue, at our wedding, located and looking perfectly. While we were all getting ready and then during the ceremony she was in the reception hall making sure everything was as it should be. When I needed anything all I needed to do was look for her and there she was, like Mary Poppins! Time to change into my «comfortable» shoes? I asked Jen and then suddenly there they were. When one of my bridesmaids felt sick she was with her making sure everything was okay. When my mom needed her reading glasses she found them right at her seat. And when it was time to clean up at the end of the night Jen was all over it, having everything packed, organized, and ready to go. My mom said to me, «you know, I don’t think we could have pulled that wedding off without Jen and 2hands». That is so, so true. I initially thought that hiring a month of «planner» was a luxury but having gone through this whole wedding planning process I can honestly say it is NOT. It is a necessity. What’s the point of spending so much money if your event doesn’t run smoothly, or if you’re stressed out and trying to run things yourself the day of the party? It doesn’t make sense to do that! Take it from me, this is one of the best phone calls you will make when it comes to your event and you will not regret it even for a second.
