Pirate Adventures On the Chesapeake

This was hands down the best experience I could’ve dreamed of with my sons. My boys are 5 and 8 years old, and had the time of their lives. The ENTIRE staff is exceedingly phenomenal. Everything from making the reservations by phone, to scouring the sea for Pirate Pete, was just over the top perfection. The staff so clearly adores what they do, and are amazing with the kids. It seems they even tried to familiarize themselves with the kids names before arrival. They’ve covered every little detail that makes this a true voyage of imagination. They single handedly made our kids’ story books and movies come to life. I can’t thank them enough for what they do. I’d hug every staff member if I could.

Aye aye! What a fun event! My husband and I took my 5yr old niece with her teenage cousins. We all had a blast. First, dress up and face paint like pirates. Next Rules given to all the kids in a fun way that makes them a listen. Once on the boat kids are part of the adventure to find the treasure. The captain and his mates are perfect imaginarians and weave the tale so all kids are hooked. Best adventure ever!

My 3-​year-​old and 6 — year-​old both had a wonderful time… and I did, too! The «crew members» were energetic and funny. They kept the kids engaged. They were patient and organized. We knew basically what ti expect, but there were still a few fun surprises. A great time for the whole family!

Was a kid-​friendly experience! Far exceeded our expectations for an inexpensive family friendly afternoon on the water! Attentive crew,“authentic pirate gear”, a water cannon battle at sea, a treasure hunt, «tattoo artists», dancing, music, and grog just for kids! Thanks Patches, Skully and Rusty you were a great crew!

My 4-​year-​old had a wonderful time on this pirate adventure. The best part was the staff, who were just wonderful with the kids. My son was a little shy at the start, but they had him enthusiastically participating in just a few minutes. He didn’t come over to me even once during the ride, he just enjoyed being with the children and the other pirates. The staff were kind and engaging from minute one.
The show was also a lot of fun, especially when we blasted a rogue pirate with water cannons while «Sabotage» by the Beastie Boys blasted in the background. Awesome.
For the adults, it was a lovely, cost effective cruise, and for the kids it was a blast.
Would definitely do this again.

This is a great experience for kids and adults alike.
Kids get to dress up like pirates and get their faces painted before the voyage.
Throughout the outing, kids are entertained trying to read treasure maps, finding treasure, blasting water at the bad pirate…
Adults get great tour of Annapolis via the water. Cruise out of Spa Creek, past the Naval Academy, and up Ego Alley. The main pirate who leads the kids is absolutely hilarious and might have more energy than all the kids combined. You will be laughing the entire time.
If you need a family friendly outing in Annapolis, this is it.

I recommend these guys to anyone with kids. Took my 3.5 year old son and we had a blast! It was his first time going out on a boat and he crew made it enjoyable. 75 minutes on the water and they managed to keep all the kids entertained the ENTIRE time. Will be doing this again next time we are here!

We went on this adventure tour today and although my daughter is a bit older (10) she LOVED it «Crazy Eyed Kiya» as they named her the actors/​crew were so entertaining for both the kids and adults alike!
Very high energy from start to finish and KUDOS to the person that played pirate Pete my daughter actually jumped back when he tried to climb on board it was her favorite part of the adventure worth every penny recommended age 3 – 8 or anyone young at heart :)

What a wonderful adventure! Our 4−½ yr old grandson was made welcome from the moment we walked onto the premises. The staff definitely knows how to keep their young pirates engaged. Our grandson loved the water canon and shooting the «bad» pirate overboard. His share of the treasure was a special treat to bring home. He wasn’t wild about the «grog» but a bit of refreshment was a thoughtful addition.
We did the first-​of-​the-​day 9:30 sail and learned that one is often less crowded. I was surprised that we went nearly to Greenbury Point before a very smart advertising-​wise return down Ego Alley at the city dock.
For everyone’s enjoyment, I’d suggest you wait until your child is a mature 3 at least.

This place was great… half hour early for face painting and costumes. From start to finish crew was energetic and engaged with the kids. It was a nice boat ride for the parents while the kids got to play. We had Rusty, Ruby, Spike and Coral and they were awesome. Well worth every penny. On mothers day mom’s go for free. Can’t say enough about this place.

One more positive review. We took our 4 year old twins today on an absolutely picture perfect May Saturday afternoon in Annapolis. The staff was fabulous and the kids had a great time. I can’t believe we hadn’t heard of this before.
Unless your kids are afraid of the water, this should be huge hit!

Absolutely amazing! Trystan’s favorite part was shooting the pirates with water. Staff was great, they even allowed my son to come back and «drive» the boat for a quick picture! Will definitely make this a part of our summer adventures again. FYI * they host birthday parties as well.

Can’t say enough great things about Pirate Adventures. The staff bends over backwards to entertain the kids, the activities are well thought out and perfect for *ahem* shorter attention spans and spending an hour plus on the water while you’re kids are fully entertained ain’t bad either.
Agree with others on how reasonable pricing is compared to anything similar. We hosted a small birthday party and it cost less than a comparable party at a kids activity center.
So happy found this place! A big thank you to all the staff.

We celebrated my granddaughter’s fourth birthday on the Pirate Adventures ship. This creative group entertained a bunch of kids for an hour and a half with everything from a treasure hunt to searching for mermaids to shooting a pirate with water canons… nothing was overlooked. The kids were provided with costumes, face painting &
was a great value. All of the pirate paraphernalia in the shop was very well priced and affordable to families. Kudos to the staff of Pirate Adventures for a job well done. clearly they all like what they’re doing. We parked on the street but there was ample parking in the lot the day we were there. A great lunch was had a short walk from the site at The Boatyard Bar & Grill with a good kids menu.

My daughter still has her purple diamond treasure from this pirate ship (4years later) and reminds me and others of «the time we went on the pirate ship». She had a blast.

Amazing! I was worried based on some pictures that my kids (6 and 7) would be too old but it was the perfect age. Flint was our crew member and he was so enthusiastic and wonderful with all the kids. Not too long, a little over an hour out on the water — get there a few minutes early to make sure you get a spot in the very small parking lot. I would also suggest making an early reservation (9am) and getting out on the water before it gets too hot. There is shade on the boat for adults but your kids will be in direct sun on the bow for the entire time.
The kids got to shoot water canons, help find a treasure using a map and a message in the bottle (that they pulled out of the water), dress up with pirate costumes and tattoos — bring sunscreen and water.

So, Pirate Adventures seemed like the perfect day trip for my little girl.
First off, they are extremely friendly and make sure to speak to each and every child. Our crew consisted of Dagger and Crabby. Both of them were excellent! I particularly appreciated the fact that they noticed my little girl was the youngest one (3 years old) and made sure to include her and guide her along with the older children.
I highly recommend this outfit if you want to spend some time on the water with your little one misbehaving like pirates!

Arrrrrgggggg! We had a BLAST on our Pirate Adventure! Pirate Adventures on the Chesapeake is great because you can tell the owners and employees love what they do. It seems to be a family owned business. They truly go out of their way to make you feel welcome and to make your whole family have fun. The kids loved looking for treasures in the bay and fighting off other pirates. I am a total helicopter mom and even I let guard down. To think I felt that my children were safe and we were out on a boat is just unreal! They captain and the mates took the time to learn the kids names and they were genuine when speaking to our kids. It wasn’t rushed and they took their time with our young children. They made it seem so real and exciting. It was the best money we spent on our kids in a long while!!! Thank you Pirate Adventures on the Chesapeake! We will definitely be back.

What a neat idea for something non-​standard to do in Annapolis. The second you walked up, the pirates (aka actors) were engaged with the kids. They got dressed up like pirates, were taught some pirate words, and got painted up before going out on the boat. We spent 1+ hour running around the bay looking for treasures and grabbing stuff out of the water (cleverly placed treasures). During the entire boat trip, the parents were free to sit and have the kids occupied by engaging activities with the pirates. They even came up on a bad pirates in a little boat and blast him with water canons.

This is THE Best Kids’ Activity in all of the DMV. Not an exaggeration.
Where else can you take your kids to sail the seas, search for treasure, scoop up a message in a bottle from the water, find the X and pull up a treasure chest, shoot down the bad guy pirate and drink pirate grog? Nowhere, I tell ye. Not in these parts.
This was probably the best $ 18/​person I ever spent on a kids’ activity.
The staffers running the show were absolutely great at entertaining the kids, from painting «tattoos» to getting the kids’ best pirate «ARR“s and getting the kids to «shoot down» Stinky Pete.
While the kids located the treasure and shot water cannons at Stinky Pete, us parents got to enjoy the lovely breeze of the Chesapeake Bay on the other end of the boat. Since it was July 4, there were a ton of other boats out on the water and we hit some rough waves occasionally but overall it was smooth sailing.
Highly highly highly recommend. Probably the best for ages 5 – 7, but I think younger and older kids would like it too.
