Snyder’s Bootery specializes in Men’s and Ladies Sperry Topsider and Sebago shoes for boating. We also carry a many styles of Men’s Cole Haan, Clarks, Merrell,
Chaco’s, Teva, Florshiem, Timberland. Also a large assortment of ladies casual and casual dress shoes.
History
Established in 1900.
The Bootery was once owned by the Lipman Family who also owned a quality goods store located one door up the street. Morris Snyder, father to Biz Snyder, began his career in 1936 as a stock clerk and later purchased the business at the age of 35. Biz has worked in the store since the age of fourteen. His wife, Cindi, also works in the store and has for twenty years.
Morris passed away in 2005, at the age of 87. This location on Main Street
was his only place of employment. He carried a solid gold shoe horn that was inscribed, «If the shoe fits, buy it».

My father in law, Mushie Snyder, began working at the bootery at the age of fifteen. My husband, Biz, has been in the store since he was fourteen. It is a family environment and much fun is had by most when purchasing a pair of shoes. A loyal customer, Carl Jones, worked with us for many years after retiring from the USNA, and still stops in to greet customers from time to time. We now employ Tricia Lovell, a twenty five year veteran from Riordan’s. We are a happy place. Busy beyond belief at times, but a very happy atmosphere. Stop in when you are on Main Street. We have many styles of Sperry Topsider shoes in both men’s and ladies styles. Even crying babies at times.
