Once upon a time, two little girls dreamed of a park in a distance land — one you actually had to get in a car to go too. Instead of the around the corner convenient standard park, this place was all the way on the other side of their little town — and it was magical. Completely made of wood, there were castles and bridges and forts you could climb under to hide from scary little brothers! Then one day, some evil … something or other, tore it down. In the old days of the Antelope Community Park, the place really was a wooden fortress unlike any other. As a kid we called it the«special park», and would have to put in specific request to go there. We were disappointed when it got torn down to build the new equipment, but looking back as a kind-of adult, that thing was a splinter fest waiting to happen. Anyway, the new park now has solid equipment that still makes it the best in Antelope(also the newest, cleanest, and probably safest). They’ve got the tire swings, teeter totter, and solid swings to sit on at three am when you need a life talk with your best friend. There is also one of those huge spider web looking things, which is perfect for both climbing and laying in when you need to get above things. Overall, one of the best local parks I’ve been to. Whether it be the child that hid under the wooden drawbridge or the teenager that sat on the swings when she was upset, this little place holds a piece of my heart.

This is such a beautiful neighborhood park right off Elverta and Palmerson Dr. Next to the water park. They have a playground for kids 2 to 4 yrs old, but I’ve seen older play in. On top of the playground is a baseball field, and to the left of the playground is a BBQ area with plenty of benches. There’s plenty of space to set up a picnic or just sit around in the grass on a summer days. I’ve seen people use the trees to hang up piñata. There’s parking on the streets, and a cement walk way that leads to the playground and the baseball field. Occasionally you will see random children of all ages in the playgrounds or riding there bicycles on the walk ways. The grass is well kept and free of dog poop. There’s not much liter in the grass as much as there is in the playground. It would be nice if the had put a little pond area by the trees, and some more trash can noticeable for everyone who eats or sits near the playground. Speaking of the playground, I can’t understand the age limit that children can play in, when they have a 30 ft web of wire or what ever it’s made of for children to play in. My kids made that remark, as I’m backing it up for them. Other then what I’ve seen, as how many times I’ve been here to take the kids here to burn off some energy. It’s exceptionally great place from my kids experience as they love coming back here. I hope they might try to add maybe even a volleyball area or maybe crochet.
