2 Da Rescue

Awesome rescue! THANKS to Karen and all of the other amazing volunteers at 2 Da Rescue, we adopted our most recent pup from 2 Da Rescue, Frisco. Frisco was rescued from underneath the foundation of a home, along with his 3 siblings… he was extremely fearful, but thanks to the wonderful volunteers and much love, Frisco came around. We fell in love with him immediately and since we’ve adopted him, he’s flourished into the pup we always knew he would be! I know firsthand how hard Karen and the rest of the volunteers work at 2 Da Rescue, they are constantly striving to do what’s RIGHT for those unwanted and neglected pups of ALL ages! Truly, if you want a pup who has been loved from the moment they were rescued… THIS is the place for you!

Having read the couple of negative reviews there are about 2DaRescue and Karen in particular, I have to comment and reassure people that this rescue shelter works very hard to provide dogs that have been homeless or abused or scheduled to be put down, with the care, attention and affection that they so disparately need.
My wife and I volunteer to walk dogs and clean their habitat at the shelter. We have witnessed the love and dedication that Karen and the others on her staff give these animals, some of which can be very demanding due to abuse. Karen has invested a lot of her time and money into building a new facility and the dogs are going to love it.
It is inevitable that, occasionally, a dog will have a problem after adoption which Karen would always work to rectify in best interests of the dog and the owner. We have seldom seen someone give so much time and effort to her cause and the dogs are her number one priority.
This is a wonderful shelter with some terrific dogs that will make great companions, please support them or even volunteer your time if you can.

Karen was a wonderful help finding a dog. But the next week When we took her to the vet we found out she had tapeworm, along with urinary infection and now we are taking her for blood work since she seems to have other challenges. Since tapeworm is contagious I called Karen to tell her, The response was you can bring her back not well, we’ll check the other dogs. Take her back so she’ll die since she won’t be treated? The dogs are obviously not checked by a veterinarian. Love our dog but on a fixed income this is becoming very difficult — just know if you get a dog from this rescue center — they have not been checked out.

When we were thinking about getting a dog I had a couple requirements: we had to adopt and I would not support a puppy mill type of shelter or a kill shelter. I found 2Da Rescue online and I could not be happier. Karen is absolutely amazing! We adopted our sweet girl in April and soon after she got sick. Karen took her in and nursed her back to health. She truly cares about every single pup and is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure these dogs live happy and healthy lives.

If there was a «0» stars I would have put that! Have you seen where they house these poor dogs? In some warehouse with no a/​c or heat, in small smelly stinky caged areas, there is no place for these poor animals to get out and run or play unless you include a small fenced in area in the corner of the HOT greasy parking lot.
As the other person commented I too was concerned about adopting a dog that was pit bull or pit mix and was told same thing and like he, I overheard a similar conversation about the breed of a dog at an adoption event.
I also witnessed Karen take a dog into a back room to administer a shot .not sure if that is legal or not but it is something to consider when reading the other posts and considering this place. .

Karen, the director of this rescue, does a wonderful job of socializing and loving these animals. She really cares and works hard to save as many animals as she can.

They really care about the dogs here and do anything they can to make sure they are healthy and happy.
Adoption is always a smooth process, and Karen always makes sure that you are happy with your dog.
I adopted a little puppy from them and the adoption fee was $ 200. It covered the neuter, the microchip, and all the vaccines. So happy with my little guy :)

Contacted Karen at 2 Da Rescue about a dog they had available for adoption and asked what the breed was of the dog. Told her we were interested in adopting with the only condition that it was not a Pit Bull breed or mix as we have very small children. She told us over email that it was not, She told us it was a boxer /​rhodesian ridgeback mix. We met the rescue group at a Petco adoption day and asked about the puppy, one of the volunteers informed us that it was a pit bull mix and when we finally saw the dog it looked 100% pit bull. Apparently Karen was there and overheard the volunteer tell us that and she immediately jumped all over him trying to quiet him and told him not to disclose that specific breed. Now I have had several boxers and have friends with rhodesian ridgebacks and am very familiar with the breed. The dog was of neither decent.
Beware when working with this group that they will Lie directly to you. After doing some more research about this group there are complaints from other people on
complaining about the unethical nature of the group and specifically Karen. Along with problems with the pets adopted from the group not being cared for properly and infested with ticks and fleas and the group is not taking care of these types of things. Very disappointing.

This is such an ethical and truly genuine rescue. They go above and beyond for their animals and it really shows. All they want is to give their dogs a wonderful forever home and they do everything in their power to ensure that.
Karen, the owner, is very responsive, thorough and helpful. She has devoted herself to these animals, which is amazing in and of itself. I worked with Karen as a foster mom for a beautifully wonderful dog. She coached me through the process, helped me get the medical attention the dog needed and gave me so much advice.
This rescue is filled with genuine people who go above and beyond. There aren’t enough kind things I can say about them. 2 Da Rescue all the way!
