I’m so glad I found Larisa to do the alterations on my wedding dress! Planning a wedding is such a stressful time, but I knew my dress was in good hands. She was quick to respond to both email and phone calls and it was easy to make appointments with her. She did a great job making sure my dress was perfect for my very special day. My sister, who had to help bustle my dress at the wedding, keeps complimenting how easy she made it to bustle and how much time she must have put into creating it. Beware if you are not the sample size! I went to this store after making an appointment with my grandparents, two aunts and some friends. We were ready to begin our dress shopping day and have fun. Larisa, the owner brought that to a screeching halt when she said that I COULD NOT try on any dresses because she only had ONE SIZE in the entire store. She then said it would be impossible for me to try dresses at ANY bridal store which was just MEAN and if I had not had a strong support group with me Larisa could have ruined what should be a really fun day for a bride.
In short, if you are not the size of a super model don’t waste your time with this store! I just had to make a review of this place because all the other reviews are good and they didn’t prepare me for the rudeness and nastiness of this store owner!

Larisa did a fantastic job on my wedding dress. I had found a beautiful dress that was exactly my style, but there were some issues with the fit. The bodice of the dress was too long on my short torso so it just sort of hung unattractively on my upper body. Larisa shortened the bodice, which included a lot of delicate work moving beading but maintaining its lovely fern pattern. She also added cups so I didn’t have to wear a bra (yay!) which also gave the dress a much smoother line in the bust. And of course she added a bustle. On my wedding day, the dress fit perfectly and was much more flattering than it had been off the rack. I got a LOT of compliments and felt gorgeous.
However, I did take off one star because the alterations were VERY expensive. I had found a dress that was gorgeous and well-​made, but relatively inexpensive ($ 600). The alterations cost as much as the dress again! I was shocked and disappointed at the cost, although I appreciate the delicate & difficult work that went into some of the changes. It was well beyond what I expected – my sister got married in DC and her dress had to be altered from a size 12 to a size 2 to fit her, and her alterations still cost less than half of what mine did! I wish I had been able to shop around, but there are not many bridal seamstresses in the Triangle and I did not want to entrust my dress, with its delicate lace and beadwork, to an inexperienced person.
In the end, I was very happy with my dress but be prepared to lay down a sizable chunk of change. If you are on a budget you may want to go elsewhere.

Larisa was the most amazing find during the wedding planning process. To understand where I am coming from… I was dreading dress shopping, to be honest. I get overwhelmed shopping and I am a short, but plus sized woman. I didn’t have a huge budget for the dress and so I couldn’t afford to go to the high end bridal boutiques where all dresses start at $ 2K. I also have never had a positive David’s Bridal experience and didn’t want to go there again. Larisa was willing to work within my budget and has a lot of different options– from inexpensive bridal gowns to designer bridesmaid dresses in white & high quality fabric — to incredible gowns well out of my budget, but maybe in yours :) She also designs and sews her own gowns… and is known as the BEST in the Triangle for gown alterations. Hint: If you get your dress at David’s, go to Larisa for your alterations… She knew immediately what would work for me and I only tried on 3 dresses. I could have tried on dozens more, but that wasn’t what I wanted. The second dress I tried on was IT. The Third dress I tried on would have been it if I had gotten married in a different setting. The entire thing was so relaxing in her quiet boutique… and just a wonderful experience. She added some elements to make the dress more me by my request… and was so quick with working on it. We met up 2 more times… once after the alterations and then again the week before the wedding. She was always so sweet, supportive, & excited for me… and happy to do what she could to make me feel beautiful. Larisa is kind of like a fairy godmother when it comes to wedding dresses. I loved the entire process… stayed within my budget — and got to support a woman who is running her own local business. Definitely check out her store!

My wedding gown was incredibly intricate with a lot of beading and lace detail. Additionally, it had a chapel length train that I was nervous about bustling. First off, I must say that Larisa is one of the kindest and most professional people I’ve ever met. She did an AMAZING job altering my dress. Everything was completed in a timely manner and her bustles are the best — they aren’t just practical, but beautiful! My gown had three layers and she numbered all of the ties for ease of bustling. Not only is Larisa a seamstress, but she is an artist. Her work on my dress was immaculate and if I had to do it all over again, I would definitely go back to her! Thank you, Larisa, for being so easy to work with and for being the best at what you do.

Larisa did a great job on my gown. I needed it pretty quick and she came through with having it ready in time. I suppose you pay for what you get, Larisa is expensive! Like I said, she did a great job, but plan on spending several hundred dollars. She is nice as can be and makes you feel really comfortable and at-​ease through the whole process.

I went with my daughter to get her wedding dress altered and ended up buying my mother of the bride dress here. Larisa listened to what I was looking for then made suggestions. After trying on a few dresses, I was a able to order just what I wanted in my choice of color. (so easy!) She even found a matching jacket to order as well. The dress fit PERFECTLY due to the excellent job in taking my measurements without any alterations! My daughters dress alteration was perfect too. I highly recommend.

Having just moved to Raleigh, NC from the West coast, I needed to find a top-​of-​the line seamstress to alter my wedding gown. My couture designer gown is intricately embroidered with tiny Swarofski crystals and pearls completely covering the bodice and trickling down the organza skirt. My gown has so much beading and delicate details that it is extremely difficult to alter without damaging or completely ruining the dress. My point is: very few highly skilled professionals can do what Larisa was able to do to my gown – and when she was done — perfection! My gown fit me like a glove and looked impeccable. Trust me: other than finally saying «yes to the dress» the second most important part is to find a true professional to do the alterations to your gown. She was able to take it in and reconstruct my gown to fit perfectly.
Larisa is not only exceptionally talented; she’s also very welcoming, comforting and has the ability to put you at ease, which really helps with the stress of wedding dress fittings. She’s truly a kind and lovely person and makes you feel very comfortable which is great. She listened to every comment and concern I had about the fit and gave clear solutions on how she could make my gown fit how I wanted it too and then delivered.
She was always flexible with me and would welcome me to come in at any time – even last minute (which was very nice) and she always honored all of my requests graciously. I would highly recommend Larisa with any alterations you may need and especially for designer/​couture gowns when only the best will do – you will be in good hands!!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND for wedding dress or formal dress. So I began my search while I was out of state and kept finding people that had a ridiculous waiting list and limited availability. My mom found Larisa because her store is located in shopping plaza in her development. I contacted her and she was great off the bat. I brought my wedding dress, a bridesmaids dress for my cousins wedding, a dress for my rehearsal dinner, and another dress. She helped with everything from straps, to length, to adding bra inserts. My dress looked amazing and she did a perfect job. What was also great was she didn’t question my dress choice as it was simple because I wanted a simple beach wedding. So many people questioned my simplicity and she didn’t. She made suggestions but didn’t over talk like some people do. Even when I had a bad «bride dream» and was afraid the dress was too long she let my mom and I come in at the last minute for an extra fitting. Her availability was great. The pricing was high but on a wedding dress and formal dress I wouldn’t expect anything else. I will def recommend her to brides and anyone with a formal dress. She does custom dresses as well.

Larisa worked with me a few times during my wedding dress alteration process. First was minor stuff but very intricate with my delicate lace dress. Her work was flawless. Due to my body changing so close to my big day, I had to do major last minute alterations. She was so professional and great to work with. I felt that she cared about making me happy, which I was! I recommend her alterations to anyone that is looking for a seamstress for a wedding/​special event. She was reasonably priced and seems that she would be willing to work within your budget.

Phenomenal work, Larisa is always professional and is known as the BEST for bridal and formal alterations… as well her personal designs and dresses are beautiful and unique. I felt very comfortable leaving how I would on my wedding day in Larisa’s skillful hands.
