Tommy’s Deli

EDIT (10÷11÷10): Tommy’s Deli is now closed and will re-​open soon under new management, according to the owner.
Tommy’s is open for breakfast and lunch in the same location that used to host the Blue Rain Café and then Giovanni’s Sandwich Shop. They’re right next to another favorite of mine, Paradise Pizza.
I’ve been here twice, so far. The first time I had an Italian sub, and the second time I opted for the NJ/​NYC-​style sloppy joe (rye bread, ham or roast beef, cole slaw, russian dressing). Both sandwiches were huge, but the sloppy joe was a little more special since it’s something unique that you can’t really get at any sandwich shop in this area.
If you don’t want to eat inside, then I’d recommend ordering over the phone and picking up at their drive-​through window. It’s a bit of a wait if you’re simply getting something to go.
It’s a good, honest sandwich shop that I hope manages to stay afloat in a location that hasn’t been very good to previous owners. If you’re in Apex or south Cary, it’s worth trying out.
