Town of Apex

Kelly Road Park is located just behind Olive Chapel Elementary and for those of you who live near of around the park you will often see a neighbor or school friend playing at the park. We lovingly call the park the «Castle Park» because most of the play area is taken up with a huge wooden castle that offers climbing, crawling, slides, balancing, and much more. The play area is appropriate for kids of all ages. There is a section that offers smaller slides and baby swings. There are also tennis courts, baseball fields, wall ball, basketball, and picnic tables so that all can enjoy the facility. We love this park so much my son actually had his five year old birthday party in one of the picnic shelters. For only about $ 35 we rented the facility for two hours and children could play and eat (which is very cheap compared to some of the other parties that he has had). My only complaint involves the YMCA after school program at Olive Chapel uses the park in the late afternoons which usually means 30 – 40 elementary school kids (big kids) swarming the park. Though the councilors make sure that the kids are having fun it often makes the park just too crowded for my daughter. So I usually try not to go the park after 3. I recommend this park to so many people. If you live in or around Apex it is a must try!
