I ordered the grilled chicken and onion and if it weren’t for the onion it would have no flavor what so ever. The waitress would also rarely check up on us. My mom ordered some chicken gizzards and they weren’t that good either. But the breakfast seemed much more appetizing than the lunch menu, which was the one we were given.

Usually good but the service today was terrible. We had to finally flag down another waitress for tea refills even though our waitress was bussing tables nearby. We ordered a lunch special from the board, but they were out. Mashed potatoes were room temperature and obviously from a box. The other(and only remaining) special was salmon patties but no cocktail sauce in the house. On the positive side, the veggies were hot and tasty, especially the great northern beans. Biscuits and cornbread were so so but the sweet tea is fantastic(if you can find anyone to bring it to you.) My advice, skip the lunch and only go for breakfast. Disappointing.

Great country fried steak and smoked pork chop for breakfast. Their slogan, «home away from home» truly describes their menu.

It’s got a cute feel to it. But the food most always is room temp. I have a feeling most of the food is cooked earlier in the morning and reheated. If you want extremely good diner food, try Argo’s up near Hunt Club. Robinsons is classic, but sometimes you just want to have all around good food.

Not a bad place to eat for breakfast. The prices here are relatively cheap, the food is good, and the service has been good each time I have gone. I like how they typically have one waitress walking around and refilling the coffee. When you are in Apopka, and want to avoid a chain restaurant, this would be a decent option.

People either love it or hate it. Yes, it’s very outdated and dingy inside but that’s part of the old Apopka charm. If you’re in the area and need a good bowl of grits, Robinson’s is where you want to be. And it’s so cheap too. Go and have a good old time!

I absolutely love this place! My boyfriend and I come here just about every time I’m in town… which is several times a month! Our favorite waitress, Quynn, is as fun and friendly as they get. She’s been there for 34 years… yes, 34 years… she knows what’s she’s doing! Food is excellent, as close to mamma’s cooking as you can get! Service is super fast and food is always hot! If you haven’t been here… go today!

Simple, affordable, and super-quick. Robinson’s has become one of our favorite places for breakfast on the weekends. Definitely a locals-sort-of-place, the décor is circa 1960’s? 50’s? Old. Dingy. Outdated. But the food is good and the waitresses are(mostly) friendly and efficient. It’s a great place to see what ‘real’ Apopkans look like… Oh, CASHONLY in this establishment. We made that mistake the first time. Oops!

I don’t get it. Why is this place rated high? It’s dirty, old, simple. Restroom was real bad. I will not be returning.

Robinsons has been a family favorite since I was a little runt. I’ve been eating here for years. They’ve gotten me through my childhood years with the family, through my skipping days of high school, and through many an early morning hunger pains. The memories are long and dear. That being said, I must say they’ve gone a little down hill over the last few years. It can be really hit or miss with the service. Some of the servers really do a great job, but some really don’t. On my last visit I actually had to listen to two servers argue about which one my table belonged to. That was very unprofessional. The food is still pretty descent, with the occasional mishap. They really need to learn that over medium means done whites and slightly runny yolks with no burnt brown. Get it right people. I also wish the menu was a little nicer to the pork free crown, but I’m not pitching a huge fit about it. They still have a good hometown feel, and usually deliver a pretty impressive overall breakfast, but after 17 years of doing business with them I’d have thought they’d discover a credit card machine by now. CASHONLY and their aren’t any ATM’s close by. You were warned. I still recommend it if you are looking for homely country breakfast with a low price. However, you really shouldn’t expect a gourmet experience here.

If I’m ever in the area during breakfast, this is where I’ll make a stop. This is a mom-and-pop restaurant and you can definitely tell by the outside of the building. Exterior and interior are nothing fancy. The always full parking lot shows how much daily business they get by the locals. The menu items are very cheap and be sure to have cash on hand, as it is cash only. Ask for freshly baked biscuits and top it off with a drizzle of honey. Amazing!

Needed a good place for breakfast before hitting the Corn Maze in Mt Dora, so I picked Robinson’s since there were 10 of us meeting from different directions. Like other reviews have mentioned, this is a no frills joint that serves up good(unhealthy) grub(I actually walked right past the entrance when I got there bc I couldn’t tell it was the door!). I had the Western omelet with rye toast(extra 35 cent charge) and home fries with onions(yes, you have to tell them you want onions on it). The omelet was average, but I really enjoyed the home fries. My husband had the 11oz country fried steak with hash browns. That thing was huge, smothered in gravy, and totally yummy! Others in the group ordered the regular sized country fried steak(I think it was 4oz) and all loved it as well. This isn’t a place that I would make a special trip for, but if you’re in the area, then it’s a great place to eat. Just make sure you’ve got cash. A few people in our group had to make an ATM run! BTW, the bathroom is pretty clean, but it’s absolutely tiny, so if you’re claustrophobic, you might want to limit your coffee/water intake ;-)

Cash only, but you won’t need much of it!!! Been a customer for probably 20 years. 95% of my visits have been for a good/cheap breakfast with fast and friendly service. Prices are bargain basement, but so is the décor and the overall facilities. This is a road side diner, so lower your expecations… this isn’t a corporate First Watch with fancy smoothies and pancakes. This is mom and pop southern diner food.

Robinson’s is a favorite Apopka standby for breakfast. Although the place is definitely NOT anything to look at, the full parking lot tells a different story. As with most breakfast places the food comes out quick and is cheap. Although this isn’t fancy fare the food is decent. The inside might look scary but I actually checked them out with the local food inspectors and found only minor, non-gross, violations common to many restaurants. One violation I remember was that there wasn’t an «Employees must wash hands» sign in the restroom. I can live, and eat, with that. **CASHONLY

If you’re looking for some down home comfort food in a no-nonsense environment, Robinson’s is the place for you. They only serve breakfast and lunch so get there before 2:00. And they only take cash, so stop by the ATM first. This place has been around forever and the building and décor reflect that. But who cares when the food is this good, and always fast. Add to that the fact that you can get away with a GREAT breakfast for two for $ 10 – 14 and you’ll return at least once a week. I do.

Fresh from Texas you are safe to assume that I know what a good country fried steak should taste like. Most notably I frequented a place called Massey’s in Fort Worth, TX which had their Country fried steak featured on the Travel Channel. On to Robinson’s. After noting that their parking lot was constantly overflowing with cars I decided to stop by with my father-in-law. This is a family-run, no-frills family joint with great home-style cooking. Their country fried steak was nothing short of phenomenal. If my mother cooked country fried steak like this when I was growing up, my name would have probably been ‘Bubba.’ It is as tender as can be, packed with great flavor. The eggs, as simple as eggs over easy are to cook, were perfection. Although I haven’t eaten lunch their yet, it is safe to assume that their home-style cooking will make you go home and slap your mama. Yes, it is that good. We walked away entirely full with a whopping bill for two people of $ 10.75. This is no joke. We felt so bad about such a low bill we over tipped our waitress who gave us amazing service.(Cash Only)
