It’s one of our first coffee specialty shops. So I have an affinity for it. They still make a great cup of coffee. Service is typically good. It hadn’t changed much over the years. Quaint and comfortable to meet a friend for a cup of Joe and a nice visit.

Nice little coffee shop. Great Panini’s. Great coffee. Good music. Very nice covered outdoor seating area. Not sure but it seems owner operated. Very comfortable.

I’m always excited to see new, independent coffee shops in the high desert, but I do regret paying over $ 5.30 for a small latte here. First, the service was slow. It took 10+ minutes for a simple flavored latte even though the café was near empty. So the coffee had better be rockin’. The coffee was crap. It tasted burnt and the syrup in it was overwhelming and sickly sweet. I would have liked to support an independent coffee house, but not this one. If you’re going to charge more than Starbucks then at least master the coffee.

I once waited over an hour for a sandwich and drink. The person behind the counter was training and the owner was sitting outside smoking away with her friends. I also had a friend who worked there at one point and she would come home crying because the owner was mean.

The tropical peach is delicious as well as the Seattle freeze. The customer service is also very good.

Service – OK, but slow Quality – fair, 70% of S-Bucks Price – 30% more than S-Bucks Atmosphere – quiet and comfortable When in the area stop by, but know that you are paying a premium for the features noted above. Keep your expectations a bit lower than normal, and you will be just fine here. When I overheard an individual, who arrived with college texts, notebooks, and a laptop inquire about WiFi, the initial response was not, «Yes, we do,» but«Only for customers.» I thought that this is no longer 1997 with roving bands of WiFi thieves, and maybe a positive approach would win more customers. BTW – tap water is $ 1.80

I love the atmosphere of this little coffee shop. The customer service has always been great and the pastries are amazing! The Seattle freeze is a favorite amongst most but is a bit too sweet for me so I usually get an iced mocha or iced latte.

Lovely place. Very nice since the minute you walk in. It’s a good environment. The prices are fantastic. It’s a small hole in the wall that you can’t really get to unless you’re really looking for it. They have a nice little checker set that you can play around with while you’re enjoying your drink or food and the employee that works there was really nice and welcoming. Come and get a good coffee drink and enjoy some good company here!

I’ve been coming here for years, the Seattle freeze is the best in the west. Anyway, Allene is usually there in the evenings and really knows how to make up a tasty drink and make an excellent grilled chicken wrap. Keep up the good work.

This morning was the first time I visited. Coffee was very good and I had a sample of the Seattle Freeze… yummy! The Barista was friendly and very helpful, and I also met the owner, she was nice as well. I will be back. Thanks ladies.

Wonderful coffee, wonderful service, and the atmosphere is what one would hope for in a coffee house. Step inside and be transported to somewhere other than the desert, perhaps Portland or Seattle, as you play checkers, sip a latte, or enjoy one of their amazing panini sandwiches. A true gem hidden off HWY18.

Perks makes a decent cup of coffee, but… it always seems like they have a hard time getting my order right. Always something wrong: too much milk, coffee seems not hot enough… or way too tongue-blisteringly hot! I like a café au lait… but it just doesn’t seem to happen for me at Perks. You might have to wait a while sometimes: maybe the coffee isn’t ready yet… maybe there are a couple of sandwiches that need to be made… maybe there’s someone’s friend in there that is talking to the barista… Inconsistent, at best.

This coffee house is okay. The coffee and prices are fine, it’s not the best coffee and espresso, but it’s not bad actually, especially for the high desert. When I went there, it was one barista, 4 people sitting on the couch with a pizza(nothing purchased from Perks), and a couple huddled in the corner. I am giving only three stars because of the ambiance and lack of inspiration. I think that coffee houses(although most are on the more liberal side) should offer a neutral environment upon entering, however this one had some political signs near the front door. I really thought the pizza guys shouldn’t have been inside taking up the couches while watching some political banter on fox news(sure, I’m biased). There was plenty of space outside for them to eat their food. Inside the coffee house are 3 really drab blue couches, 2 office lounge chairs, two café chairs, a few coffee tables… the way it was organized created a sort of sinking and boring feeling. It would be better for the business to get rid of two of the couches and put in some decent, more traditional café style seating and tables; they’d have more chairs, plus, more privacy, which means people will be more likely to stay and enjoy their time … which creates repeat customers. One thing I particularly liked about this place were the three stools against a high counter so you can enjoy your espressos and cappuccinos at the«bar,» just like European style coffee houses. There was very little decoration in the coffee house; it could be because they just moved there? I’m not sure when they moved, but hopefully it was recently so in the future I have some eye candy on the walls to distract me from the TV. There’s not a lot of environmentalism here; no recycling bins, etc. Free wifi is good. Community involvement is NIL. I wonder if they have live music or other events? With their awesome outdoor seating and their distance from residences, I think it would be great to have a band outside in the covered patio!
