Dr. Wallis is most thorough and attentive optometrist I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I am sick of doctors rushing me through the exam and not taking the time to care for me. I see other people have left reviews because of the staff, but the staff is less important to me than a doctor who finally helped me see clearly! I definitely recommend this optometrist.

Dr. Wallis has become like a family friend, always asking how work and life and kids are doing. Importantly, he works diligently to ensure I have the most precise prescription and customized eyewear. Friendly helpful staff, convenient location, comfortable office and a perfectionist of a doctor. Two thumbs up.

Dr. Wallis is great. I have a Five year old daughter that he has been so patient with. We have gone to him for two years now and he has spent so much time with her, it is amazing. He want to makes sure she is seeing perfect. The whole office staff is friendly and attentive there is also never a long wait. The best doctors office of any kind I have ever been to.

When I lived in Newport Beach, I had an old-​school optometrist who took care of my check-​ups and prescriptions. I thought that moving to the desert might force me to go to Sears or something, but fortunately my first call was to Dr. Wallis’ office. What a treat. I get the same (or better) treatment as before, and Dr. Wallis is great on a personal level, too. He never pushes anything on me, and is always very patient and meticulous during examinations. I was very happy to see him move from the Felony Flats location to the current location in Desert Knolls, but I’d go to him no matter what part of town he was in.

Great office and staff! They took time to make sure my glasses were perfect, and made adjustments when my husbands frames were bent.

Dr Wallis is my favorite optometrist by far. He is incredibly patient and kind and always makes me feel at ease. He is not the typical optometrist who rushes patients in and out as quickly as possible, but rather takes his time with each person. He is meticulous and has fantastic work ethic. You can tell he’s an expert at what he does, and that he genuinely enjoys working with people.
Marcia is wonderful, as well. I’ve had a lot of difficulty getting the perfect contacts. My eyes are extremely sensitive and I have to sacrifice vision for comfort and vice versa. Marcia is my go– to gal. She is very helpful, efficient, and reliable. Marcia has maintained a wonderful attitude despite how difficult I’ve been with regards to my eye care. I think it’s time for me to just get Lasiks and save myself the hassle of contacts, but honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better staff than that of Dr. Wallis. Best overall in the high desert.

Lovely office. Our family had been long-​time patients of Dr Wallis. He is probably the BEST Optometrist I have ever had, and I’ve worn glasses for over 25 years. Patient, detailed, even great with our children (of which we have several who wear glasses). We’ve spent quite a bit of money there over the years, and have been most happy to do so.
However, 2014 has been the «year of change» at this office. Our favorite optician is no longer there, and the gentleman who was handed our cases has been polite, but not terribly timely. It should not take 6 weeks to get a replacement pair of glasses for a child who needs them for reading. So many stupid excuses, something we have never heard before.
The final straw however, was some new girl, I am guessing she is the «office manager»? Her treatment of me is inexcusable and her lack of care for losing 6 long-​time patients baffles me. In fact she more or less ordered me to take my business elsewhere and shove it.
Which is exactly what I intend to do. The atmosphere in Dr Wallis’ office is not what it used to be, the service is terrible, and the majority of the new employees (there is one remaining who’s been there forever, Marsha, and she is FABULOUS) seem to be individuals determined to be rude, make patients angry, and demand payment where payment is not due. Farewell Dr Wallis, I shall be taking my $ 5,000 (roughly, between my co-​pays and what my insurance pays) a year in business somewhere else. From the lack of patients waiting my last few trips in your office, it appears others have called suit.
It makes me terribly sad, but I will not tolerate being told off by someone whose paycheck is funded by my business.

Gorgeous facility, it reflects the efforts of the doctor and his team. The intellect and perseverance of Dr. Wallace and Marsha really surpass most optometrists abilities and my expectations. The mood sometimes feels tense, but it’s really a reflection of their dedication and hard work. Our entire family has been coming to this office for years.

Been going here for years. It is obvious this doctor demands excellence from himself and staff. Very clean facility. Friendly staff.

I went to Apple Valley Family Optometry because they were listed as a premier provider on my eye insurance. My son needed new glasses and contacts so I figured I would give them a try. They requested that we arrive 20 mins prior to our appointment. Ok, that’s no problem, that is pretty standard for a doctor right? We arrive our 20 mins early and fill out the necessary paperwork. Then the wait began. We waited for over an hour before he was called back for his exam. The receptionist apologized for the wait. I asked her if this wait time is typical and she said that it is. After the exam we then had to wait for the one and only person who was working with patients who were picking out glasses. He was with another patient so again we were waiting. I’m not sure why they didn’t have other employees to help with picking out and processing orders for glasses. There was another employee in that area, but she wasn’t doing anything to help patients. After all was said and done we spend 2 hours and 10 mins in this office. I’ve been to plenty of optometrists before and have been in and out within an hour. I was supposed to make an appointment for my husband to get an exam, but after this experience have decided to find another optometrist for him, one that will value their patient’s time.

Ever since I was a little kid, I always came to Doctor Wallace. He is by far the best optometrist in Apple Valley. He is very good and very understanding and polite. Not to mention he is a veteran. Great guy and his clientele are the best also.

I have been having my eyes checked since I was 7 years old, and I have seen many different optometrists throughout the years.
With that said, Dr Wallace is without a doubt the best in the Desert, and he’s the best that I have encountered. I take both of my kids to him, and my wife sees him as well. He always does a very thorough check, and will identify any potential issues early on. If he doesn’t specialize in a certain condition (even if it’s not eye related), he will give you the information that you need or refer you to the right people so that you are properly cared for.
His office is always very clean and well kept. He has an outstanding office staff who’s always kind and extremely helpful.
He has a very large selection of different glasses, and I’ve always found the perfect pair of glasses here.
I will see Dr. Wallace until I have no further need for an Optometrist, He’s it for me.
