Specialties
Evergreen Lavender Farm hosts special events, workshops, festivals, and farm visits. The farm has its own product line of lotions, soaps, and sprays that is a treat for the skin and nose; like one customer said, «It stinks good!». Enjoy a picnic, an afternoon tea in the barn, a game of corn hole, or just come to stroll the gardens. The farm offers cut your own lavender and crafting workshops from the end of May through July. Lavender buds for sachets and potpourris are available, too. If you would like to visit, please call us so it can be arranged. We look forward to meeting you.

History
Established in 2002.
When the farm was built in the 1930’s, it was a chicken farm and sawmill. The house, barns, and out buildings were built during this time. We moved into our home, in the community of Evergreen near Appomattox, in 1999 and in 2002 used the fields to grow cut flowers for market and florists. After a visit to Oregon in 2008, I decided to grow lavender and have an acre of five different varieties. An acre doesn’t sound like much, but it is a challenge to prepare Virginia’s clay soil for lavender. We hope to keep expanding our fields every year. It’s not Provence, but everyone needs a goal.

Business Owner
I am a teacher in Appomattox Public Schools and my husband is a nurse practitioner in Campbell County. We have 10 acres near Appomattox, VA, which allows me to grow plants, especially lavender, which is my passion. It becomes a challenge at times to take care of everything with full time jobs, but we have a vision. We have two wonderful boys and they help us take care of what needs to be done.
