We offer exceptional customer service and access to local skilled installation professionals.

We have an extensive selection of name brand products with samples that you can check out and view at home including carpet, prefinished solid and engineered hardwood, laminates, vinyl and area rugs. We also carry many green products including cork, wool, sisal & linoleum.

We stand behind all of the products we sell so if problems arise, you will have a local contact to resolve any issues rather than trying to deal with someone at a far away 800 number.

Our 38 years of successful business is the result of our numerous loyal customers who come back to us over and over again through the years and who recommend us to their friends.

History

Established in 1971.

The Wholesale House was founded by Aptos residents Paul and Dorothy Loughrey in 1971 as a membership buying group for public employees. Over time, the store evolved into a retail store offering a wide variety of products at low cost. In 1981, Steve and Ellise Mills of Aptos purchased the business and they continue to own and manage it.

The primary focus of the store is now on providing excellent customer service and an extensive selection of quality floor covering products. We are fortunate to have excellent staff who can assist customers with product selection and technical questions. Heidi Bartell and Gail Mizuki have each worked at the store for over 12 years.

We offer service, selection and value to our many long-​term customers in a low pressure comfortable environment. We are successful due to the many referrals made by our customers. They are very satisfied with their experience with us and they tell their friends. We work hard to maintain that loyalty.
