Chem-Dry of the Foothills Carpt and Uphlstry Clnng

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience and shocked! We’ve used this company in the past for carpet cleaning. It is a family owned business and the owner and his son would come and clean your carpet. They were very courteous and did a great job.
Assuming to get the same service, we called them again when we needed carpet cleaning thinking we would get the same service. Two young men came and started their works for the carpet. Within 20 minutes they were 75% done with their job. I thought it was strange since the last time they were here, they took around 3 – 4 hours to do the job which is around 2000 square feet of carpet. When I went to the rooms to check the carpet, it seemed like it was only cleaned «surface-​wise» but they never cleaned under the tables or bothered to remove the objects aside to clean. I remember very clearly that they would do that because the previous father and son crew would move the coffee table and they would even put a protector paper at the foot of the table to prevent any staining. I told the staff that I would like them to make sure they move the tables and he said that he already cleaned under the table. How do you say that when the rest of the carpet was wet and the areas under the table, bench, sound plants were all dry? He told me «areas under the table and bench dry off the quickest first». I gently asked that he redo those areas as there were dirty spots under the table which was clearly not cleaned at all. He then told me that their company policy tells them to not move anything and if we want it cleaned we have to move it. The lady who took our order had clearly told us to move all our smaller objects aside and they would move the bigger items. I followed the instruction and moved all the smaller items away except for the bigger sizes furniture. I told him that this was not what the lady over the phone had instructed. Honestly had I know we were to do all the work ourselves and still be left with dirty carpets and a bill of $ 795, then I might as well not have my carpet cleaned! I told him that we could call his office to clarify the situation but that in the past we had enjoyed their service and that is why we called them back. He claims that he was the «other son» and it’s still family owned. He just left with the job unfinished and I was left with dirty wet carpet and wasting my time having moved all the items aside to get my carpets cleaned that day. We called the office and advised the situation. She said she would call us right and let us know… but they never called us back either.
I can just say this is the WORST experience I’ve had with a professional service! You’d think after being in business for a while they would continue to value their returning customers and do a decent job to keep themselves in business. All I can say is that I feel really bad for the father who started the business and let his son ruin the business he worked hard on.

I can not say enough about how wonderful these people were. I know that it is a franchise but I can only speak about Wayne and Lori. They were so helpful and accommodating. The crew was friendly, informative, hard working, great conversation! They removed stains I really didn’t think would come out. She put me on a cancellation list and after confirming with me I cancelled twice they still came out last minute to help me. There prices were fair and crew arrived early and worked late. Their van was neat and crew appearance was very nice. They were absolutely positively wonderful to work with!!! Would absolutely use them again. They were the definition of service with a smile and they saved me butt last minute.

I called Chem-​dry hoping to get a large area rug cleaned. In our conversation I decided to add on my love seat and mentioned that it was chenille and an almond color. Lori mentioned that she had chenille on her couch and their technique cleans it well.
As my review suggests, the experience did not go well. Lori called to cancel last minute because she got a «big job». I was told that all furniture, which wasn’t much, would be removed and it wasn’t, and on top of it all they ruined my couch and then denied everything, trying to blame my dog saying the stains were already there. I assure you they were not. The material is stiff and flat and now doesn’t match the chairs.
I will never be using this company again, and would not recommend them to anybody. I am now back where I started and need to find a company to fix the damage this one has done.

I’ve lived in Glendale for 7+ years and have used Chem Dry of the Foothills at least once a year for carpet and upholstery cleaning. They are the best!
Each Chem Dry is a franchise, so the level of service and responsiveness varies.

A friend referred Chem-​Dry of the Foothills to me.
We have carpet laid over hardwood floors, so we didn’t want to use a company that steam cleaned. I called Chem-​Dry of the Foothills on a Saturday. Laurie (Lori?) was very informative about how the Chem-​Dry process worked.
We were originally going to clean just one room, but found that the better deal was for 3 rooms. So, that’s the package that we asked for and booked it for the coming Tuesday. Laurie told us that Steve and Jeff were to arrive between 2−3pm. By the way, we called and added a 4^th room.
They arrived about 2:15p! Awesome, right? They were both very professional in their mannerism and appearance. Since we had cleared out the majority of our furniture, Steve said it was only going to take about 30 – 45 mins. I had to run a couple of quick errands, so my hubby stayed and watched the process. By the time I came back (about 35 mins later), they were just about finished! These guys are multi-​taskers– they can both work and talk simultaneously! Lol! They explained that the carpeting is a bit damp, and to give it an hour or so to dry before we replace the furniture back in their places.
The carpets look great!
Recap: 4 Rooms– They vacuumed the rooms when they arrived, they removed all stained areas, cleaned using the Chem-​Dry process, they can work and talk simultaneously, and they explained how long to wait before replacing the furniture; all for a reasonable $ 175.00 + tip!
