Futurelink School

DO NOT ATTEND THIS AFTER SCHOOL if you are concerned about your child’s safety!!! Their driver for their after school pick up drives reckless and does not care about your child’s safety. I have seen their driver disregards and violates traffic laws, numerous times. Please think about your child’s safety before you enroll.

Futurelink is an excellent school and after school program. It places an emphasis on academics as well as individual student development.
Before choosing Futurelink, my husband and I had visited other schools in Arcadia, but none were comparable to Futurelink according to our observations. There was always something about other schools that we were not happy with, such as dirty restrooms, small recess playground for kids to play, multi-​grade levels sharing a classroom (which causes distractions, making it difficult for students to focus), admin staffs didn’t speak English fluently which makes it hard to communicate. Not until we set foot into Futurelink were we happy. We immediately liked what we saw; the administrative staff were nice and friendly (made us felt welcome); restrooms were clean; the play area was big; each grade level get their own classroom and the admin staffs spoke fluent English and Mandarin, which is a widely spoken Chinese language in the world and the official language in Mainland China.
Principal Marie is the most wonderful principal and is always available to help and assist with our numerous questions and concerns over the years. Do you know of any principal that would cook homemade meals for her students? I do, Principal Marie, out of her caring heart, will sometimes cook heathy meals for her students. The teachers at Futurelink are well educated, knowledgeable, caring and patient.
Futurelink offers excellent academic programs. Their reading/​writing and everyday math programs are key strengths of their academics. Their academic programs are aligned with what the schools in our case, arcadia school district) are doing. Their reading programs support the common core in English Language Arts. Not only does Futurelink make certain that my son’s school homework is completed daily, they also take their time to review, check and go over the mistakes with him. Besides classwork, Futurelink also assigns daily and weekend homework to their students. Sometimes, my son learned new lessons in Futurelink before he learned it in his regular school. I truly appreciate this, because by the time the district school teaches him, he is at least familiarize with the topic if he did not already master it.
As working parents, we struggled with getting off work promptly to pick up our son from Futurelink. There were times we were late, but Futurelink was super understanding and compromising, Ms. Marie would stayed extra late to be with our son until we get there with no extra charge!
We are now in our third year with Futurelink and my son absolutely loves it. We highly recommend Futurelink.

My daughter and I love Futurelink! Not only is Futurelink affordable, this is also the first buxiban she actually looks forward to going to and she has many friends in her class. The atmosphere is very warm and the principal and her daughter are some of the kindest, most responsive people I’ve ever met. Whenever my daughter needs extra help principal Marie ALWAYS call her into the office to work with her individually. Who can ask for more? (Esp with the price??) I want her to excel in school but I also want her to be around GOOD people. I’ve heard other afterschools lock their kids in the a room for punishment? Or shame them??? I would never EVER want that to happen to my kids.
But that does not mean they do not have high standards. Her homework is always done. I never have to worry about it. And she learns some things at Futurelink before she learns them at school. The packets they work on are extra practice, and they do not just «throw a packet» at the kids. Also I don’t know if other afterschools put such an emphasis on reading but they have a great program just for that and i REALLY appreciate it. (They have a nice library too!) Her reading level has gone up in the last year and she likes to read more and more! The reading program seems to be their strongest point.
I don’t know if I agree with the last reviewer about the teachers. Futurelink does have one or two teachers who look young but I think they are actually working on their masters? Maybe instead of making assumptions about the teachers you should talk to them if you have a problem with their teaching…
The school is easy to miss on Live Oak… it’s right across the street from the Arcadia Senior center and Goodwill.

Do not use this after school program… for the last couple of years, this place has gotten worse because most of their good teachers have left. They recently have been hiring really young kids who look like they’re from high school. My kid has not received a thing from being in this program… they guarantee that homework is completed, but I had some occasions where my kid’s homework wasn’t completed. I complained many times, but it always happens again. All they do here is throw a packet at your kid and expect them to do it without showing them at all how to complete it. If your kid does not know how to do it, they will not really spend much time with the kids so they’ll just end up sitting there doing nothing pretty much the whole time. Unless you want a babysitter for your kid afterschool… this is pretty much what you will be paying… my son has not learned a thing using this afterschool program. I also noticed that most kids have left Futurelink lately and turned to other programs in the area. so stay away from this place! You have been warned parents!

Do not be fool by the fake reviews who are giving Futurelink 5 stars. There was no
review for Futurelink until I posted this bad review. The reviews are probably by either them or their friends. Would you believe a 5 star review who seems pretty biased or would you believe a 1 star review from someone who has put their kid in the program and got nothing out of it. Save your money parents because there are better programs out there. Go somewhere else!
And here’s my response to Jane W. review… maybe you should not assume that I didn’t talk to anyone there. I have spoken to Mrs. Marie many times about her teachers, but nothing is ever done about it. So don’t assume yourself.
