Loanne B Tran, MD

I’ve been going to dr tran since probably I was in middle school and I’m 31 now. So she’s been my primary for a very long time. She’s very informative and is concerned about her patients well being. I’ve recently been having issues w sleeping because I work night shift so I went in to see about sleeping meds. We looked up a few medications and the side effects, drug interaction etc. It is refreshing to see a doctor that doesn’t just hand you a bunch of prescriptions. She was concerned about not wanting me to end up being addicted to sleeping meds and then have to up the dosages. So with that aspect I’m glad she is actually concerned. I will continue to see dr tran as long as she is practicing. Oh and Miley is great too. She’s always nice and energetic and helpful.

A couple fractures are what brought me to Dr. Tran ten years ago and she’s been my doctor ever since. Seeing her was never a burden. She’s professional, straightforward, and sets realistic goals. If it came down to an ugly situation, I know Dr. Tran would be there for me.
What makes her unique is her ability to love what she does but also have a unique interest in the needs for the patient. If she doesn’t have the answers, she researches them. When I was bout with a diagnosis many years ago, Dr. Tran assured me she’d do everything to make treatment a breeze. She did and I’ll always be thankful for her care.
Her office is nestled in a very busy medical plaza right in Arcadia. Though I’m sad some of her staff has come and gone, Dr. Tran has been a positive force in my life and unequivocally the best doctor in the San Gabriel Valley. She rocks!

My adult child went to Dr Tran recently for an immunization but received the incorrect vaccine.
I said to the MA that it was a MEDICATION ERROR but the MA said that Dr Tran said it was ok my child got the extra dose. Honestly it was a MEDICATION ERROR but they didn’t admit to it. Luckily, my adult child only had sore arm from the two injections but imagined if the patient was an infant or child. What would happen if it was a different medication… its a scary thought… Make sure your child gets the correct immunization… double check and ask. Im very doubtful how competent are the MAs and Dr Tran.

Dr. Tran is one of my primary care Dr’s. She takes her time and gives quality care. I particularly like that I am able to make a same day appointment for a physical, at least the last two times that I visited. She is very thorough and will even take out literature and research to explain things. I appreciate her taking the time to help me take care of whatever I come in for. I recommend her if you need a primary care physician.

Dr. Loanne Tran is friendly, detailed, and a great doctor!!! She cares for each patients and is very attentive to ensure all her patients are healthy & happy. Kids get sick all the time and it happens randomly, including mines, but I can count on bringing my kids in the same day (the friendly staffs know how important for parents to seek medical treatment whenever possible). Great doctor and great front office staff/​nurse is the best combo!!! Maile (pronounced as Milley) is super!!! Maile is super friendly, welcoming, and makes everybody comfortable!!! Whenever you have any concerns or need any referral, Maile is detailed-​oriented and on top of everything. She will discuss my issue to Dr. Loanne Tran to ensure it is addressed and do whatever that needed to be done. You will not go wrong with this doctor office, especially for pediatric care!!!

Dr. Loanne is our family doctor, and she really takes care of us. My dad has diabetes and she’s worked with him relentlessly to the point where he is controlled. He’s no longer on injected insulin and he’s living a way healthier lifestyle than before Dr. Loanne.
She doesn’t sugar coat anything or goes around the bush, she tells you things straight forward and helps you find permanent solutions not temporary fixes. When it comes to our health we forget that’s what we need– permanent solutions. Its a bummer that she’s no longer in my insurance network but my dad still goes to her even tho he moved further from Arcadia.

Dr. Tran had been my doctor for 5 years and I feel quite foolish for keeping her as my doctor for so long.
I have had an neuropathy since age 2 (I am now 29) which means I need to be seen by a lot of specialists.
Pros:
1. She generally writes your prescription in a timely fashion
2. She generally granted most of the my requests to see a specialist (I initiated)
3. Miley the receptionist is kind and easy to talk to.
Cons:
1. She is poorly staffed… she has no nurses and nurse practitioners on her staff and she is the only doctor.
2. She has a tendency looking at her watch consistently and making you feel rushed.
3. After five years of being my doctor, she knew nearly nothing about my condition… Which she actually admitted to when I brought it to her attention after we decided she would no longer be my doctor.
4. During the course of five years she only initiated that I see a specialist once. All other times I had to initiate the process myself. It is clear that I have a physical disability and should be seen by several different specialists. My current/​new doctor since September 2013 has initiated me being seen by several different doctors which lets me know that I did not have unrealistic expectations of Dr. Tran.
5. Due to the nature of my physical disability I requested that the doctor request of the insurance to run a specific test. Dr. Tran told me that I probably had nothing to worry about and the insurance most likely would not authorize this request because I am young. I kindly and patiently explained to her despite the fact that she was my doctor and could clearly see that I have a physical disability that my circumstances are clearly not of someone typically in their 20s. After going back and forth with her, she put through the request and insurance with no problem at all authorized the request. Dr. Tran should be ever so grateful that I requested this exam because the results were what I expected and had I not had the exam and something had happened to me I could have sued her.
6. As it was nearing five years, I honestly informed the doctor that after several years she knew almost nothing about my condition, almost never initiated that I see the specialists or have any special tests run, she seemed not to be invested in my care, and that I could have complained to the insurance and a written bad review about her. Instead I wanted to tell her face-​to-​face because I believe that is the fair thing to. She thanked me and instead of saying she would try harder, she simply said that it was great that I was invested in my own health care. I in no way expected an apology because I understand that as a doctor she clearly feared being sued by a patient if she admitted to a mistake. Unfortunately, her care towards me as a doctor went downhill and I had had enough.
I have never in my lifetime written a bad review about a doctor but I wanted to prevent someone else from going what I went through. I am happy to report that I currently have the most amazing Dr. and I highly recommend doing your research beforehand and finding yourself a good doctor.

She explains and answers questions. she is a very pleasant person. she is also a good doctor.

I wanted a simple referral to an occupational therapist for my child who has difficulty chewing solid food. Dr. Tran refused, claiming «let the kid go hungry, he’ll eat». She just have the utmost disregard of my parental concern. What effort does it take her to do a referral? She also argued with me that my kid’s weight is «normal», despite my 3.5 year old weighs in at 25 lbs and has not gained weigh in more than a year! Dr. Tran tends to have a combative attitude and has no basic «customer service» mentality, let alone a warm, caring attitude you’d expect from a doctor, especially from a female pediatrician! Lastly, her office opens 10−4pm weekdays only.

Dr Loanne Tran is our family doctor, and my son’s pediatrician as well. She’s very attentive and to the point, making regular checks for my baby short and sweet. Highly recommended.
