A Taste of Olive

The only reason I ever came here in the first place was to escape a rainy day with my boyfriend. What started out as «let’s run inside until the storm settles down!» turned into a truly fun and memorable afternoon.
The salesperson was one of the friendliest ladies I have ever met. She taught us how to sample all of the olive oil properly (to maximize the flavors) and boy, there is no shortage of flavors here! You can find coffee, blood orange, cinnamon, pear, chocolate – anything you can imagine, there’s probably an olive oil infused with it.
As a self-​proclaimed kitchen geek, there are lots of other items to get excited about as well. They have all sorts of cute dishes, utensils, and tools. Plus, there is a huge selection of unique mustards, caramels, and even homemade pastas!
I come here to buy gifts for the whole family these days. You can find something elegant and special for anyone, I guarantee it.

Holy macaroni, I couldn’t have imagined all of the flavors of vinegar and oil that this place has. Blood orange, chocolate, etc. It’s intense.
Most things are pretty pricey, but I guess you’re paying for quality. They also have pastas and salts and peppers here, so you could make a nice gift set for someone. This is definitely worth a visit, even if it’s just to be awed by the selection.

Stores like this one make me want to actually use my kitchen for more than just to house water and to cook the occasional boxed spaghetti.
You walk in to dozens of international olive oil selections and cute little gifts for people who like to cook. You can taste test all of the oils, which is great.
I ended up purchasing blueberry butter, which is likely a strange item to buy at an olive oil store, but… it looked good. Also: Points to the salesperson. Very nice and we shared an affinity for summer fruits!

This place is awesome. A bit pricey, but absolutely fabulous.
It’s ridiculously fun to go in here and sample the oils and vinegars.
The employees are so friendly and helpful. They truly make a great experience memorable.
I love this place. It’s fun to shop here, and the products are top notch.
If you’ve never been to A Taste of Olive, you should go. Like yesterday.

Great olive oil and vinegar shop with a huge selection. We bought a bottle of garlic olive oil and a bottle of BBQ sauce. Unfortunately, the bf dropped the BBQ sauce before we could use it and it shattered on the floor, so I can’t speak to that. But I can say that the garlic olive oil was AWESOME. Really delicious stuff. Not cheap stuff, but I wouldn’t expect it to be. We’ll go back!

This place is like a fun house for trying olive oils and vinegars. Despite my extremely modest salary, I’ve purchase over 5 bottles of delicious varieties for myself and as gifts. The staff and owner have recommended pairings that were fantastic– balsamic honey vinegar and lime infused olive oil. The house oil, infused with pungent romano cheese was a perfect gift for my loving boyfriend’s picky parents and the harrisa oil, very spicy, was greatly appreciated by a friend. I’m so happy this place is around, especially now that the holidays are coming– I never have to stress over what gift to give close friends and acquaintances alike again.

This is the best place ever if you really like high-​quality olive oils and balsamic vinegars. I always thought that aged balsamic had to be expensive, but A Taste of Olive proves that wrong. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

While I never really identified with Popeye (especially that canned spinach… yuck!), there is one thing that we do share… a common love of Olive Oil.
Well, fans of that Mediterranean ambrosia will be right at home at A Taste of Olive. The shop offers dozens of different olive oils, from straight Greek buttery smooth to oils infused with hot pepper, tomato, chipolte, and a host of other ingredients. I picked up a silky smooth Greek olive oil for basic cooking, as well as two bread dippers: the house (infused with parmesan and tomato) as well as a Tuscan flavored with rosemary.
They also offer dozens of different balsamic vinegars, including high octane that we all know as well as a thick syrupy version to be used as a drizzle (hello fresh mozzarella and sliced tomato). There are quite a few flavored with fruit, from blueberry to peach to cherry. The options, like the oils, are almost endless.
The oils and vinegars are presented in big stainless pots, and you actually fill up your bottles, offered in several different sizes. There are small tasting cups near each pot, so you can blissfully sample these delicious concoctions before deciding.
The quality of the oils and vinegars is superb, but quality comes with a price: a 750ml bottle of olive oil will set you back about $ 32. However, once I dipped my bread into the House oil, it was easily worth the price.
This is one of those specialty shops that is worth the trip, even more so if you enjoy cooking. While I’ll pass on the canned spinach, all I can add folks is «I yam what i yam and that’s all that I yam.»

I was completely skeptical of this shop and its entire business model when it first opened. «What, an entire store devoted just to olive oil and balsamic vinegar? They’ll be out of business in 6 months»
Then my wife and I happened to stop in one day on a whim. Wow, they sell some good stuff here. It’s pricey, don’t get me wrong, but you’ve never tasted olive oils and balsamic vinegars like they sell here. Each different variety is in it’s own stainless steel urn and you can sample any or all of them using little paper shot glasses. I definitely recommend giving it a try — delicious. Don’t leave without sampling the 18 year old unflavored balsamic. It’s like a flavor explosion.
I’m still skeptical of it’s long term prospects, but I’ll enjoy it while it’s here!
