History

Established in 1943.

Our Quilt Shop and Veggie Gardening Center was begun by Grandfather W.R.Gable in 1943 with funds he saved from working for the W.P.A. building nearby Lake Murray. The feed & seed business is now bulk garden seed and organic soil amendments and the grocery part is now QUILTING and all things sewing related. We also sell Brother Sewing and Embroidery machines. We’d love to have you come visit us in our historical building!

Stan learned to butcher and run the grocery business from both his father, Bob Key, and his grandfather W.R.Gable. Stan can communicate with anyone and loves to share fish tales, cattle stories, and any history of «our part» of downtown Ardmore.
