My dog was groomed here for the first time today, and they were great.
The haircut itself looks great. The groomer obviously knew what she was doing. She left just the right amount of hair on my Cocker Spaniel’s legs and tail. I can tell that she tried not to cut his eyelashes, but that’s very difficult with him, so they got cut — but — here’s the great thing — not entirely removed. In the past, when a groomer cut his eyelashes, he/​she snipped the rest of them off entirely to correct it. Not this time! The eyelashes are evenly groomed, meaning that she took the time to see how much eyelash was accidentally removed and carefully matched that on the other eye. I don’t fault her for cutting them and I really appreciate what she did once one was cut. (I know this may sound silly, but if you have a Cocker you understand).
The place itself is quiet and relatively calm, as a salon should be. I’ve been to other groomers where there are ten dogs sitting in crates barking. Not here. There was one other dog there, who was free to run about behind the gate. No chaos.
Why were there no other dogs? Because they sensibly schedule their appointments. It’s amazing.

Just got my mini schnauzer groomed here, and she came out looking amazing. I’ve been to a few other groomers around the area and Unleashed has significantly done a better job than the rest. Everyone was extremely nice and caring and the woman who groomed my pup (I’ll have to get her name next time) was awesome. I was glad to see my dog was in good hands. Parking was no problem at all, and she was done in such a quick amount of time it was surprising (where other places have taken 4+ hours of waiting). Suburban square is literally a 1 minute walk down the street so you can shop and eat while waiting. Anyway, great job Unleashed pet spa!

To Unleashed: I appreciate your response to the incident. However, I indeed called your place of business about an hour after the appointment and discussed my dog’s condition with the groomer who worked on him. She said nothing had happened. My pet did not encounter anything sharp after leaving your facility, driving in the car or coming home. There was only one place he could have sustained this injury. My veterinarian did not contact you. I will do so plus will attach his bill for veterinary treatment.

My dog got his first haircut here and he looked adorable! They even put a bandana on him. Super fast and affordable!

I came to Unleashed to use their D.I.Y Dog Wash. I have a large dog and do not have the capability to wash him at home. I got there around 1:30pm on a Saturday and they were closed. I drove a half hour to get there. Their website lists Saturday hours from 10 – 6. Thinking maybe they were just closed for lunch, I stayed in the area for about an hour and checked back at 2:30pm. Still closed. Thank you Unleaded for wasting 2 hours of my time.

It’s a shame because it isn’t easy to find a good groomer. After a few good experiences I thought this might have been it, but, alas…
I brought my dog in for grooming and when I picked him up and brought him into the car, it wasn’t long before a pungent odor hit me. My dog was saturated with stinking, cheap perfume. I called back to make sure my dog’s profile indicated no perfume for any future grooming, and was offered, politely, by the groomer (who said if she had only known…) to return so she could re-​bathe him. I declined since I was well on the way home and said I would just do it myself. When I got home I noticed that the car and my own clothing reeked of this perfume. Nevertheless, I figured I would give him the bath and be done with it. I dropped him off and first ran a few errands and then returned. I then saw that his nails were still long. I left a message for the groomer to complain and to say I would have her re-​bathe the dog after all.
When I got back to the shop, the groomer was at the counter and, while she never bothered to call me back, she clearly got my message since she immediately excused the nail job by saying she couldn’t cut them down too far since they could bleed. (Anyone knows that.) The problem is the nails were done there before and were never left this long. I told her that it was a bad job and I wanted it fixed. She called me rude and ignorant. Bizarrely, she informed me that my dog was good, as if his behavior had anything to do it. I handed her the leash and she began to drag my dog to the back pen area but then stopped when he resisted. I actually had to come over and picked him up and carried him to the pen. I waited there until he was done.
What an utter waste of a day.

Appointment setting was quick and easy and staff was friendly. I was even able to use my Unilocal checkin discount for my Morkie. We’ll definitely be back.

What an amazing place! I felt welcome and my pooch was so happy. She not only got a great grooming, she got to play with the other dogs, so it was one of the few times, she has NOT been traumatized for a day after leaving the groomers! Great work and I highly recommend this team!

Love them. Take my two dogs there. They are REALLY good and kind. They really love animals.

Had such a hard time finding a good groomer for my golden retriever, Finn. I took him here about a month ago for his summer hair cut and it was great. Before making the appointment, I emailed the owner to ask him a couple questions and he immediately responded. We will definitely be back!

— NO cages … there was NO barking (even from Sandy) when I was in there. It was a VERY calm environment. They are not into the hard sell for merchandise or services. They have do-​it-​yourself facilities as well.
I have tried 6 other service providers — even including someone who comes to the house and this is the BEST by far … if you love your pet, go to Unleashed. So close to Suburban Square you don’t even have to go home — you can shop or eat or stroll … although it only took a little over an hour because they only schedule one dog per session.

Called last minute today and promptly received a call back. They fit our puppy in and couldn’t have been nicer. Treated our pup extremely well and made good suggestions about maintenance between visits. She looks adorable and seemed comfortable to be there. Was very pleased and will return.

I’ve been searching for a groomer for the past 2 months since adopting my schnauzer. Tried Unleashed on Friday, and although the store was closing, and the owner had an appointment — he was extremely helpful in getting my little guy washed and dried. Very nice boutique, clean, without that ‘animal’ smell (you know what i mean, lol). No cages, which was nice also. I’d definitely go back! Thanks George!

I really like it here. It’s clean, had no smell and the front area is like a little shop for treats and doggy clothes. They are great about answering the phone and scheduling things. They are also flexible about cancellations or re– scheduling.
My dog doesn’t look worked up or scared before or after the grooming, which means he’s not traumatized… Always a good thing. He looks really cute and no corners were cut (ears cleaned, nails trimmed, face perfectly done). If you want to stay, you can watch him get groomed from a distance. And the price is unbeatable. They gave us a great price for grooming and in between maintenance for just the face. I’m very happy here!

Left our long-​time groomer in Havertown after she yelled at my dogs and was heard muttering to «get them out of there» (they were not loud or doing anything to warrant her anger). George and Jennifer were the complete opposite of this woman. So kind to the animals. And the grooming was great as well. I will be back for sure.

Just took my dog to get groomed at Unleashed Pet Spa & Boutique in Ardmore. AWESOME! My boy seriously looks amazing. It was also about $ 15 cheaper than where I took him last time in the area.
AND they were so nice! They really took time to make him comfortable, which I appreciate (we’ve only had him just under 6 months so dropping him someplace new is a bit nerve wracking – for him and me!). They asked lots of questions and really went over what I wanted. At the last place I took him, she just took him from me and went into the back… no fuss. But, with my boy, I LIKE a little fuss!
I’ll definitely be going back. Really nice owner and cute stuff at the boutique too. Got a sample of food to go also.

Finally! After moving here from California in 2006, we have been looking for a DIY dog wash place like they have in the west coast to wash our lab mix. We discovered this place while driving to Trader Joe’s and we couldn’t be happier!
It cost only $ 10 to wash your large dog in a stainless steel basin equipped with a ramp to help your doggie get into easily. There 4 different shampoo settings to choose from which come out already mixed with the warm water with unlimited amount of usage. You dry your dog with the towel that is provided and then, there’s a super efficient blowdryer to finish the job.
I have to say that they charged $ 10 in California 8 years ago and there was a timer on the shampoo and blowdryer cycle so I hope this place makes it. I now plan to take my dog every month to save me from the mess at home!

Friendly, clean, affordable and knowledgeable. Lots of grooming options, so prices fit your needs or be really cost efficient without a mess in your home, just do it yourself the unleashed shop!
Also, a great spot to get presents for your favorite animals! Highly recommended.
