Fish Net Family Restaurant

I had very high hopes. I love good catfish and we pass by here often in our travels.
The catfish has flour breaking which I like and it was cooked expertly.
My problem was that I ordered the boiled shrimp as an appetizer and they had SO MUCH spice that my taste buds were fried. No warning on the menu that the shrimp were SO SPICEY
The shrimp were cooked WAY too long and were very tough.
We will not be back.

Excellent and friendly service. Food is always very good. The problem is that when I finish eating the «setup,» I am always full. I regret never have room for the delicious looking desserts! This time I had the small catch, and it was plenty.

Ate here with my family I would say my meal was terrible. The rest say theirs was okay. Nothing special for fairly high prices. Expected more.
The crawfish appitizer was terrible. My strip steak was like eating jerky.
The pinto beans and green tomato relish is good, the cole slaw and hush puppies not very.

Always love visiting here. When I was a kid, my great grandmother always went out of her way to take my whole family out to Fish Net. Even when she got older and couldn’t leave the nursing home, she always made a point of giving us some money so we could all go to fish net.
The real unique thing about fish net is «The Setup», some homemade hush puppies, beans, cole slaw, and I think some sweet pickles (never cared for them). The hush puppies are the best I’ve ever had, they have a nice, distinct flavor and are always hot and delicious. Beans are basically some pinto beans with some great seasoning. Cole slaw is great and homemade.
The catfish is always superb, seasoned well, flaky & flavorful. I usually get it fried, but grilled is great as well. The fries are a bit unique, they seem to be battered lightly & have a good flavor to them. I’m not a big fan over traditional fries, but still good.
Atmosphere is nice and friendly, place is usually packed around dinner. Always make a point of going here whenever I’m visiting family.

Excellent catfish & frog legs! So glad we stopped at this casual family-​style restaurant after a long day of interstate driving.

The people are nice! The prices are too high. The food is alright. When I came in was told to pick my own seat. All in all the prices do not much the place.

Service was great. Food was fair. Not worth the price of admission though. Family of 5 ate for $ 75+tip.
Next time we’ll drive on by.
