We get take out from this place all the time, it’s decent Chinese food, nothing to write home about. I do very much enjoy their Orange Chicken, but, I do wish that they would make it «extra spicy» when asked, their Fried Rice is one of the bests from a small Chinese place that I have tried thus far. Normally, am a big fan of egg rolls but not so much with theirs, also the Potstickers aren’t good at all, quite disappointed with both of those, but aside from that it’s a good place for cheap!

Placed order on GrubHub, food was delivered 1.5hrs later(2x longer than GH predicted)! They seemed to think we would be picking it up, but GH confirmed that was not the case. Only offered 15% discount. Food was edible but not worth the frustration. Wont eat here again.

Terrible Customer service! I ordered my food at 6:40pm on a Friday. I got a call at 8:10pm that they delivered my food to the wrong house so they are cancelling my order! So let me get this straight, a family just ate dinner on my expense? And when I asked how they would rectify this situation they said«Oh well, theres no time to remake your order…» really? I just waited more than hour to feed a hungry crowd and get left with nothing. -$ 40 in the hole and nothing to show for it. RIPOFF!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to find a good Chinese place in Arlington Heights. This place was pretty good! Not greasy and very flavorful. The sweet and sour chicken is delish!

Great place for delivery or carry out. Generous portions, friendly service, fast, and the of course the most important, great food! Personally, I have ordered the orange chicken and upon a lot of reviews the honey walnut chicken. The Orange Chicken is flavorful has a thick creamy glaze sauce that contains onions, carrots, and peppers. You can actually taste and smell the hint of oranges with every bite. The honey walnut was good, but it wasn’t as good as some of the comments left behind. The honey glaze didn’t cover all the chicken so some of my bites were simply plain deep fried chicken. I’d also go for the lunch specials rather than eat here for dinner because it has a lot more bang for the buck. All in all, a great Chinese take out — you won’t be disappointed!

I ordered from here the day we moved into the neighborhood. My rating is according to category only. The food was very good for takeout and the portions were very generous. The menu is rather large and has great selections. I was a bit taken aback by the higher prices than I am used to from my old take out joint. But, I’ll have to admit, the quality was higher. The delivery gentleman was very polite as well. Speaking of that, there is an added delivery charge, too. From now on, we frequent a less expensive place nearby, but if we ever wanted to cozy on up at home and eat some Hunan shrimp, this is our place.

I’ve decided to update my review and give China Wok a 5. Ever since that first time two months ago that I ordered from here, I’ve ordered multiple times from here. The food quality is consistent, the employees are consistent with their niceness, etc. I’ve tried ordering a few different things but my favorite has to be the egg fried rice.

Wish I could leave negative stars for this restaurant, food is sub par, gristly and chewy meat and either lacking flavor or leaving such a bad after taste in your mouth! Don’t bother speaking to «management» or anyone else at this restaurant to discuss concerns, they could care less about customer satisfaction, instead they are rude as if «how dare you not like out food or service», ridiculous when there are so many fine dining establishments to choose from. BUYERBEWARE, you will not get a good meal here, and you may even get sick. Not one positive thing to say…

Horrible food. I love Pad Thai with chicken and this came with red noodles and was very spicy. The fried rice tasted like the cardboard box it came it. Also my pot stickers were not cooked all the way they were very doughy. I read all the reviews and everyone seems to enjoy this place maybe its the food i got or something but i will not be ordering form here again.

It could be because we’re hungry, but this place is GOOD! We ordered potstickers, crab rangoons, sesame chicken, and upgraded the white rice for fried rice. The food was delivered fast, and HOT! We will definitely be ordering from here again.

I’m not sure what people on here are talking about, the food here is sub par at best. The sesame chicken is like chewing fatty rubber with no flavor. The Mongolian beef is bland and tough. The amazing honey chicken that everyone is raving about is so gross, it’s like snot covered mush. I really hope it was just an off night for this place, but it’s bad enough that I’ll never order it again. Unfortunately, decent local Chinese is becoming impossible to find. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is bc the portion sizes are nice for the price, and the delivery driver was very polite.

I meant to order from a different China Wok in my area. Paid for it on my credit card ahead of time. 20 minutes after I placed my online order, I realized my mistake. Guess what? It was my best mistake all year. The tofu is awesome. The shrimp were huge and fresh. The beef, chicken and water chestnuts are incredible. This place is 6 miles away from my house but I will be back. And I have to mention the woman who gave me my order was so great! When I arrived to pick up my order(15 minutes late) she said happily«you are late». When I explained what happened(ordering from the wrong restaurant), she immediately put a bag of almond cookies in my bag and said, «I hope you like our food». We are so full and happy right now we haven’t room in our belly’s to even try the cookies. Those will be eaten in an hour or so. Seriously, the food was so fresh.

I’ve been looking for a good Chinese restaurant out here in the northern suburbs for over a year, and I finally found it! Some of my favorite dishes are the honey walnut chicken and the beef chow fun. I always walk in and place my order, so I can’t really comment on their delivery service. The people who have taken my order seem nice and friendly.

Good take out food. Reasonable prices. I believe it is family owned. Not as good as our favorite restaurant that closed in Northbrook but it is comparable and won’t disappoint. One thing I recommend is checking your order before you leave. I have had to go back on more than one occasion for something missing from the order. But they handled and fixed. Give it a try.

First time ever writing a negative review(this is purely based on service). Order Food an hour and a half ago. Finally called to see what’s up & the lady apologies saying her daughter sometimes answers the phone and the order was not processed … are you F’n kidding me? When the household erupts we finally decide to cancel the order and call to say so. Expecting some sort of empathy, we receive ‘OK … click’ … terrible. Get your $hit together!

I wish there was an international organization that monitored how won ton soup was made by Chinese restaurants around the world. This organization would have certain guidelines for wonton soup. If you go to three Chinese restaurants and order wonton soup, you’re gonna get three different wonton soups. If any restaurant were to write the guidelines for wonton soup, China Wok should be the restaurant. The broth is right, the wontons are right, and most importantly(and should be rule #1 in making wonton soup) there’s PORK in the wonton soup! Not chopped up into little cubes pieces of pork, but SLICES of pork… a generous portion. Wonton soup SHOULD have sliced pork in it. Just my opinion, but I’m pretty sure most everyone would agree. If I order wonton soup from a restaurant that I KNOW doesn’t include sliced pork, I will order the barbecue pork appetizer and throw that into my soup. China Wok, bless them, puts sliced pork in their wonton soup. And yes, the broth is delicious, and the wontons are tasty, light, and just the right consistency. I am knocking off one star for the egg rolls. A bit greasy… not as crispy as they could have been. Everything else I ordered was delicious. The Mabo(or Mapo, Ma Po, Mahpo) Tofu was excellent. Silken soft tofu, a delicious sauce… really, really tasty. And the Chicken Fried Rice is very good too. Good amount of chicken and veggies… not too greasy, great consistency. All in all, for a small operation, they crank out some really good Chinese food! Highly recommend!

This has been our go to joint for over 26 years, tonight we reviewed all competitors, and said why change. So we’re ordering now. Update 3÷1÷13 ordered Honey walnut chicken, it was awesome! I am so full, I can’t finish this review.

Finally somewhere good through GrubHub! Not only is China Wok good, but they have Honey Glazed Walnut Chicken for $ 8.95! I”m kinda sorta obsessed with the gooey goodness of honey chicken and the dish at China Wok is perfection. The chicken was moist and fresh and the sauce was on point. The Sesame Chicken Lunch Special is a huge portion for $ 5.75 plus it comes with an egg roll or crab rangoon. It’s a bit spicy and I wouldn’t call it amazing. It’s just A-OK. I’ve also had the Orange Chicken Lunch Special, again for $ 5.75 with an egg roll or crab rangoon. The orange chicken is a little spicy, as well, and very orange tasting. There are thin slices of orange throughout the sauce as well as onions. I’d skip the various lunch specials as I found them uninspired and run of the mill. However, I’d recommend the honey chicken and plan on getting it every time I get China Wok from now on. There is a $ 5 delivery charge which seems a bit much in my opinion. I’ve only ever had delivery from China Wok so I can’t comment on the dive-ness of the location. They always deliver in a lot less time then they promise which makes Hungry Sarah very happy.

This is my favorite Chinese dive EVER! Please understand this is NOT a fancy Chinese cuisine restaurant, this is your standard takeout joint complete with off-color menu pictures, broken English, and young son of a worker playing puzzle games on the«company computer». The first time my wife and I found this little place, it was our 3rd or 4th try in the area. I walked in, noticed the above as well as boxes of takeout boxes, plastic ware, sauces, etc. stored in the WAITING area. I knew this was the place for us! I realize that all sounds sarcastic, but nothing could be further from the truth. Their food was awesome! It’s been a guilty pleasure for us for years going as often as once a week! And even though they’ve done some remodeling and the waiting area is now MUCH more professional, it’s still the same divey place in our hearts. We now live in Cary, IL and miss our little Chinese shop. But we do occasionally pick it up and come back to Cary. Yeah, THAT good! The people are so nice! Helpings are generous. And the young daughter that actually DOES speak clear English is just a sweetheart. GOHERE! Eat the goodness. Love the family. Thank me later. Enjoy!
