VERY friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Everyone really tries to provide a detailed description of what’s going on.

You have run a long day of errands. Now you are at your last stop, the dentist. Your fear begins to set in, you haven’t eaten all day and you are not caffeinated enough. At this office, you walk into a comfortable waiting area with great snacks and amazing coffee. The staff in the reception area are very professional and tell you about any costs you may incur upfront. Anxiety slightly alleviated.
Now the scary part, your name gets called and you have to walk out of the luxurious waiting area into the room of pain. WRONG. You walk into a bright sunny room and are given the tv remote to watch the broadcast of your choosing. Oooh cupcake wars is on!
You get your X-​rays and you hear the dreaded news about a cavity. Thoughts run through your head of the last dentist you had. The sound of the drill, the pain, the smell. WRONG AGAIN. Dr. B did an amazing job of ensuring I was numb enough to not feel a thing. He even uses an amazing technique to make the Novocain injection painless! The technology he uses is top notch!
I have never been able to leave a dental office satisfied until I found impressive smiles. I have had several appointments ranging from cleanings to fillings to crowns and all have exceeded expectations. Everyone is extremely courteous and respectful. Finally my fear of dental appointments have been alleviated!

Excellent services, staffs are friendly and they explain everything to you clearly. They would do the best they can to help you on any situations. Attention to details, I see a huge improvement after my first visit. Highly recommended for this clinic!

I lucked into finding Dr. Barsoum when I moved to the area. I have had bad experiences in dentist offices in the past and used to be terrified of getting any work done! The office is super clean and everyone is amazingly nice and professional! They are a step above anywhere I have been in the past and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new dentist! I ended up getting invisilines and the process was so easy and they helped me in so many ways! Even helped work around scheduling issues without any problem! Needless to say I have been there every six weeks for over a year and for the past few months every three weeks! I actually love going because they are so timely and so nice! I’m actually going to miss going so often because they treated me so well and made every experience pleasant; including filings and a crown! Let’s be honest that’s just impressive! I won’t change dentists and even if I moved farther away I would have to drive here to see Dr Barsoum because I trust him and his staff and that isn’t easy to find!!!

I simply cannot believe how great they are with kids! Dr. Barsoum treated me first and then I recommended my husband to see him and both visits the entire staff was so kind and knowledgeable. But when I decided to switch my kids from their «pediatric» dentist to Impressive Smiles I cannot believe the level of care they provided. Both of my kids were extremely fearful of going to the dentist (just for a checkup!) because of their last dentist. The entire team at Impressive Smiles took their time with my kids and as a result my kids actually said they can’t wait to go back! Way to go Impressive Smiles!

Impressive Smiles really is impressive! The staff is so friendly and professional, the technology awesome and the dental cleaning the best I’ve ever gotten. We left a dentist who was retiring after many years, and both my husband and I were a little nervous about finding a good dental practice. Let me assure you that Impressive Smiles is truly an amazing find. I thank Dr. Barsoum and his staff for a great visit!

I have been here for a chipped tooth and for a cleaning. Very nice office and staff. Clean, comfortable, and accommodating. They were gentle and did great work on my teeth. This will be my dentist of choice from now on.

If I was able to give negative stars, I most certainly would. First of all, I want to say, I’m no dentist, but I’ve volunteered for a very good one. So I do have some knowledge on a how a (GOOD) dentist works.
Here’s the breakdown of my experience:
Pros:

Cons:
1. Profit-​minded, rather than healthcare– oriented — WHY?
a. After my first appointment, they scheduled me for another appointment due to the hygienist’s recommendation – that’s fine. However, I told them I’m not sure if I can make it to the next appointment, but they decided to charge me for it anyway. (AKA – SHADY)
i. I am used to being charged AFTER the appointment that ACTUALLY took place.
ii. After a phone call and my persistence, they resolved this issue.
b. They charged me for some «goodies» they gave me –toothpaste and mouthwash (I never asked for it – but it was recommended). In the past, I have not been charged for these things, but okay, FINE.
c. After the hygienist cleaned my teeth, Dr. Barsoum came to «evaluate» my teeth. He said a thing or two, but where I come from, I’m used to dentists giving me a full summary of my oral health. He asked me if I have any questions (which is okay), but the truth is, I’m not a dentist, so I expect HIM to have questions for me.
i. Dr. Barsoum did not even ask me about that could possibly affect my health or his practice. Just because I filled out a form with those questions, does not mean that you personally don’t go through it yourself. My previous dentist did this (at least, he reviewed everything with his patients before continuing his work). It shows that you care for the patient’s well-​being and that you have a reputation for doing the right things for your patients.
2. They charge you if you cancel last minute.
a. My husband had an appointment on a Saturday but he was not feeling well so I had to cancel. They said that in the future, he will no longer be eligible to schedule on a Saturday AT ALL because those days are always booked for them and because he cancelled it for the first time .This is the oddest policy I have ever heard.
Oh – sorry he became sick! After all, we just love cancelling appointments for fun because we have nothing better do with our lives! Oh, give me break! Luckily, they waived it because it was the first time, but I am still appalled by their 17^th century policies.
3. They always need a reason if you’re rescheduling/​cancelling.
a. The REASON could be anything; it’s none of their business in terms of what the reason is. Obviously, there is a reason why people need to cancel, otherwise, they would not need to cancel in the first place. It’s personal to ask that question and very unprofessional. Shame on them!
b. Again, this is just another way for them make money.
4. I felt very rushed during my appointment and I felt as if I was part of an «assembly» line.
My husband and I will no longer be using their services. Overall, I do not recommend Impressive Smiles to anyone. Impressive smiles? Please! There is nothing impressive at all. This was my first appointment and it will be my last!!!

If you are looking for a dentist, search no more! the office is beautiful with the most state-​of-​the art equipment. Dr. Barsoum and his whole staff were exceptional from start to finish. Amanda was my hygenist and she took her time obtaining films and pictures of my teeth for a baseline. My teeth never have felt cleaner! I was worried I had an issue with my gums receding for one reason or another and Dr. Barsoum walked me through my condition and the different avenues of treatment. We are starting conservatively, but should I need additional treatment I know I am in the best hands. To top it all off, Impressive Smiles works with patients like myself without dental insurance. I am beyond pleased! Thank you so much Amanda and Dr. Barsoum! I am actually looking forward to retuning in 6 months!

This is probably the best dentist’s office I’ve ever been to. I’ve never enjoyed dental visits… especially because I have sensitive teeth. I also had bad experiences with my previous dentist… specifically with fillings that would break within a year.
I had recently moved from the city to the suburbs, and then changed jobs (and insurance) a few months later. In midst of all the chaos of house renovations and work, yet another filling broke. I looked up the dentists covered by my insurance that were closest to me on Unilocal and Google, and I think it must have been complete luck that they had an opening to fit me in for an emergency filling.
Right as I entered their office, I noticed the difference. It was almost spa-​like with the modern furniture, wall-​mounted flat screen TVs in each room, and high-​tech machines that make getting xrays and photos of your teeth easier. All of that in addition to the incredibly friendly staff has changed my mindset about going to the dentist’s office. They take the time to really talk to you and answer any questions you have. I’ve never felt like «just another patient» being rushed out of the office here.
I don’t think I’ll ever switch dentists again, now that I know it doesn’t have to be a dreaded and uncomfortable experience!

I am very obsessive about my teeth, and a quality dentist is very important to me. I have been to Impressive Smiles and Dr. Barsoum’s office several times this year. This is one of the most technologically advanced dental offices that I have ever seen, and his staff are happy to explain all of the technology to you and what exactly that it does.
What I appreciated most however was that they actually used all this technology to educate me on what I needed and how to prevent future problems, rather than other dentists that I’ve been to in the past who come in, do what they need to do, and don’t explain anything. Dr. Barsoum and his staff took care of everything for me on site (no waiting 2 weeks for lab work) and they are very detailed in their work.
They are very easy to find– on the south side of Rand Road in Arlington Heights– you just need to remember to come in from going east bound (towards the city) so you can make a right turn into their office.
Very friendly and helpful office. Definitely recommended.

Great dental experience, I went in to have my wisdom teeth removed, the procedure was pain free and very quick. They were able to work around my work schedule and worked with me to plan the procedure while I was out of town. The staff is very professional and very friendly, and Dr. B. sure knows his stuff. He took the extra time to explain everything to me from my point of view (as a diabetic) and took every precatuin to ensure my comfort. The staff was very clear in explaining to me the procedure and the process. It was a very nice environment with state of the art equipment, everything about this experience was pleasant. I would definitely recommend Impressive Smiles to anyone who needs dental work done.

Great dentist that does top notch work with a very modern office and great staff. There’s lots of things about this business which make it a great choice. The parking around the building is easy to access and plentiful, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, they have a SmilesPlus program which provides discounted (20%) and free services for a set yearly fee for those without insurance, they send out text and e-​mail appointment reminders, their website is up to date, each patient room has TVs and computers to help explain your situation, and many other nice perks.
Not only is the business run well but the work done is great as well. Teeth cleanings are painless and they take extra care to make sure things are not splashing out of your mouth. X-​rays are quick and easy with their modern equipment (and you can even see them on the computer screen right after). Root canals and fillings are surprisingly painless. They even take the extra step to use a rubber dam to isolate the tooth, vaseline to make sure your lips don’t dry out, periodic suction from an assistant for the inside of your mouth, goggles to prevent anything from getting into your eyes, and other things to make each procedure as painless and comfortable as possible.
I used to think dental work was painful and avoided going to the dentist but Dr. Barsoum has completely changed my perception of dental work. I’m now well informed about every procedure and know that my dentist is committed to making everything as pain free as possible. The website has a FAQ and blog that answers nearly every question one may have.
Once again, the most surprising thing was that the root canal that i had performed was completely painless.
