I went to Dr. Scanlon because of menopause issues. I found her to be caring, a good listener(so important!) and efficient in her handling of my issues. I particularly liked the fact that she didn’t jump into extreme treatment and instead, after discussing it with me, recommended we take things one step at a time. It wasn’t the usual«take HRT and go home» approach. Also, her staff was very pleasant and accommodating.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Scanlon, she was incredibly rude. I went for an annual exam and her instruments were getting a little painful. I requested if she could please reduce to a thinner sized instrument, and she replied«you’re not a virgin anyway, it doesn’t matter». I couldn’t believe how unprofessional she was. She continued on with the appointment in the same rude attitude, being snappy with her replies to my questions. Some questions I couldn’t even finish asking because she would cut me off. I was very close to walking out of the middle of the appointment(I’ve never done that before). Was she having a bad day and took it out on me? That would be the only reasoning I could possibly come up with for having one of the worst doctors appointments(and doctors) I’ve ever had. I will never be a patient of Dr. Scanlon again. I switched to Dr. Farhi, who was in the same office for The Women’s Comprehensive Center, and she was great. Dr. Farhi was very accomodating to my comfort and concerns as a patient, she is the best.

Dr. Scanlon is beyond a doubt the most caring, compassionate doctor I’ve ever come across. She has been treating me for nearly 15 years, after diagnosing severe endometriosis in my early 20’s. Dr. Scanlon always treated me like a member of her own family, tirelessly working to manage my condition so that one day, I’d be able to have children. She laughed with me, cried with me, listened to every hope & fear I had about my future family. And now I have 4 beautiful, healthy children, all without needing any fertility medications. Today, Dr. Scanlon is still taking great care in the treatment of my endometriosis, carefully crafting a protocol that fits the life of a very busy mother of 4 children under the age of 5. I cannot say enough about the respect and faith I have in Dr. Scanlon. I have recommended her to a close friend who is also battling endometriosis, and I would feel absolutely confident in recommending her again & again.
