We provide our customers with the finest wines we find from our world travels. We supply the most memorable wines, artisanal cheeses, artisan spirits, premium craft beers, chocolates, coffee, ice cream, along with handmade pastas and soups. We have the highest respect for our customers so we pride ourselves in providing hard-to-find wines and other delectable goods for prices that are competitive and often the lowest in the country. This is what creates Arrowine’s real value.
Our knowledgeable and dedicated staff will cater to customers at any level of interest, consulting alongside you to select the perfect wine to fit your taste, meal, and budget. We enjoy providing the best foods and drinks for your book club, wine-tasting club, dinner at home or to the cellar for years. If you have a special order you would like to place, just ask!
We invite you to consult our website for a comprehensive introduction to the amazing things happening at Arrowine & Cheese!
Join us for complimentary tastings every Friday and Saturday! We sample different wines from around the world. Winemakers, importers, and distributors come to Arrowine to show off their new collections and offer insight into the vast world of wine.
History
Established in 1999.
At Arrowine, we set trends — we don’t follow them. You won’t find Veuve Clicquot or varietals from Kendall Jackson here. In fact, we take pride in that you may not even recognize many of the products that we carry. This is because owner Doug Rosen visits the growers, tastes the wines and make his own selections rather than simply trusting a wine salesperson.
Our goal at Arrowine is to foster a welcoming environment that encourages people to explore. It’s a place to learn, enjoy, and have fun. Our products need to offer real value and taste good. And we work harder than our competition to bring that to you!
Meet the Business Owner
Doug R.
Business Owner
Doug started his wine career in 1977 working at Cheese and Bottle, in the very spot where Arrowine is now. He has worked for most of the leading wine shops in the area, Pearson’s, Central Liquor, Larimer’s Market and Morris Miller. While at Morris Miller, Doug developed over 20 exclusive winery relationships, bringing such wineries as Au Bön Climat, Qupe, Babcock, Rosenblum, Nalle, Claiborne and Churchill, Storrs, Hop Kiln, Lazy Creek and many others to the D.C. market.
Doug has made Arrowine a destination for wine and food lovers. He travels at least three times a year to wine-producing countries to find high quality and value wine, many of which are exclusive to Arrowine. He has been quoted in the International Wine Cellar and has been a guest on WAMU’s «Kojo Nnamdi Show.»
