Comcast Service Center

First off, let me say that I dislike Comcast as a company just as much as the next guy. Their ridiculous fees, terrible DVR and cable reliability, and inept phone support are just part of the reason that they are one of the worst companies to work with.
BUT, this review is for the actual physical location in Clarendon. The support center is convenient. I recommend getting there when they open at 8am for quick service. Everyone in there was helpful and I was in and out of the location in 5 minutes when I needed a replacement modem. If you are experiencing problems with your modem or have billing issues, I strongly recommend going here. There is ample parking directly next to the building. I find it a bit ridiculous that people use this Unilocal page to bash Comcast’s online support, phone support, and channel selection.

I exchanged a router and they forgot to give me back my power cable so I had to go back the next day. THE WORST! their service is shoddy anyway. Get verizon

they are the worst in every way. The signal is poor. Service is worse. The voice mail prompts you for all the wrong choices. Then they want to reset your modem! eventually you may get a person. Lovely but english is not their first language! Hard to understand and inpossible to have a high level conversation with. I am sure Dan Burke is rolling over in his grave.
FInd another provider — any provider but not them!!!

The service in my apartment complex is a joke. While attempting to watch a show on Netflix i.e. waiting for it to buffer, I had enough time to download the Unilocal app, confirm my email address, and write this review. My internet connection is atrocious so please learn from me don’t sign with Comcast. Thanks for making a 30 minute show take 45 minutes or longer to watch. Thank you for making all of my smart TV apps appear blurry. Thanks again I’ll be counting down the days until my contract is up since I’ve had zero effective help from your company to fix this ongoing issue.

Due to a website glitch, I had to visit the Comcast Service Center to switch my service. The rep (Vincent, I think) quickly solved the issue, honored the pricing I was quoted online, and set up my service. The whole interaction took less than 10 minutes. Very pleased (and pleasantly surprised) with the service at this location.

Awful customer service, even by the low standards of cable companies. Calling their 800 number sends you into a maze of promotions and surveys. They clearly think the customer’s time is worthless.
It’s now 12 days later and, after four calls that have taken over 45 minutes each, I still don’t have my phone service set up. My mistake for sticking with Comcast.

I’ve been here a few times now and I have to say, I have never had to wait long and have been helped but someone nice, courteous and competent. I came ten minutes before closing on Saturday and was out the door within 15 minutes with 5 people in front of me. The woman was very helpful and I had no issues exchanging my box for an X1 (we had recently moved).
As a side note, I know this is not related to this store in particular but Comcast has been nothing but great in this moving process. I was contacted by a very knowledgeable employee after putting in my move request online and he helped me find a cheaper plan and got all my services transferred over smoothly. I hope these last two experiences represent a change in Comcast’s approach to customer service in general and that I continue to be surprised!

Absolutely the worst service we have ever had. We had verizon dsl for years (our only other choice) and it was slow but at least it worked. This is ridiculous cannot run my business with all of these crazy outages for hours at a time. With no explanation either. No storm. Nothing. I’m going to add verizon dsl as backup because I cannot rely on this

Came here after the UPS driver left a package unsigned outside my place and of course it was stolen. That was not entirely Comcast’s fault but they likely should have had a signature required for delivery. Comcast’s phone system says this location is open until 9 PM on weekdays but the website says 8 PM. Unfortunately as I found out as the associate closed the door on me at 8:00 PM on the dot, this location does in fact close at 8 PM on weekdays despite what their own phone system says. As I pleaded with her to let me in and even explained that their own automated phone system says they are open until 9 PM (which I double checked and confirmed — it does indeed say that) she proceeded to lock the door on me. Great customer service as expected from Comcast.

Walked in 20 minutes from closing and was still helped quickly and happily. Very refreshing to deal with people in person and a competent person as well. Vincent was the man. These guys catch a lot of flak — some deserved, some not — but the good never seems to get highlighted, so here’s me doing my part.

The technician showed up one hour past the promised time frame to install internet. He chose on his own, the outlet that would be activated for the modem (apparently Comcast only activates one outlet and the modem cannot be transferred to other coax outlets). He failed to install completely and left promising me that I would have internet access in about an hour, which I didn’t. I called in and they were able to complete installation by phone (noting that the technician didn’t complete his job).
To add insult to injury, I noticed that the outlet cover was not replaced correctly. Two of the four screws holding it in place were on the floor along and the outlet opening was further into the wall.
Long story short, Comcast continues to be a difficult company to do business with. It is a shame that we don’t have but two choices for internet service. It grieves me to do business with such an incompetent company.

I’m giving them three stars just because the representative was very kind and helpful but everybody already knows that going to Comcast is a hustle. The line is almost like in DMV, so prepare to wait for a long time. I prefer to do things via phone but even that way didn’t help me resolve my issue which was $ 20 more charge monthly!

Disgusting!
First installation only for Internet was okay, however they will call you night & days for an upgrades.
When upgrading to Double Play (+Cable Service).
Nothing went right!
Sent me wrong remote controls, did not tell me the right amount of payment.
Even when you call for support, they will keep asking you for upgrades. No one will have a straight same answer to the Qs.
Looking up at the internet was more helpful than calling the support desk, or going to a local access point.
BTW, my On Demand Service is not working for 3 month now. I am giving up. lol

I actually might be the only person giving Comcast a positive review, but I truly did have a good experience with them. Here and there there were some hiccups, but it was much better than Cox cable, my current cable provider, which is ABSOLUTELY THE WORST! Seriously, at least the Comcast cable platform looks attractive, is user friendly and looks like it was made in the current era as opposed to something that looks and acts like it was made in the 1990’s where every single ON Demand has to load from 0% to 100%. Cherry on top? Paying the same amount for less channels than Comcast. Guh.

This is my review for the each department of Comcast.
Install of Comcast was crazy. After going thou the installation of cable and internet. After Reference out the kinks. It was great.
INSTALLATION ONLY GET 2 START. Happy got the hight speed internet.
Customer Service. After taking out the local service and switch them to a 800 service. It just tick me off. After you get the call you have up to 7, 20 and up to 40 min of waiting a person to answer.
On Demand should get 4 stars. Even I miss out on my show. Comcast is kicking it show on replay.
All other wonderful stuff Comcast has with the smart pad, phone and shows you can watch online get a 5 star.
P. S. Dont’t move and Comcast will be your friend to the end. :)

Horrible, horrible, horrible. I was a Comcast customer for about three and a half years and finally cancelled my service when they couldn’t correct the problems with my internet service. In a three week period I had technicians come to my place six times and it would work for two days then it was stop again. I’m not talking about slow internet service, I’m talking about no internet service. Working from home it’s critical that I have internet but they couldn’t fix it and I’m not sure if it was incompetence or they just didn’t care.
So anyway I cancelled my service about a month and a half ago. When I returned my equipment they didn’t give me a bill but said they would mail it to me, which they did two or three weeks later. That means I got the bill three weeks ago, max.
Today I go to my mailbox and there’s a letter from a collection agency for my Comcast bill, for a fee that was given to me three weeks ago. No second notice was sent.
So I can’t say strongly enough, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH COMCAST!

If after reading all these horrible reviews, and you are still unsure of whether to go with xfinity (that’s if you have the choice), then trust me… DON’T DO IT!
I have never hated a service provider with such a passion. I live in Alexandria, where FIOS is not available, and I am stuck with the monopoly of xfinity. The cable service is horrible, the on demand menu is antiquated and takes forever to respond. The playback sucks, you can’t go back to the previous menu once a show is over. The boxes barely recognize the remotes. And it’s expensive! A month ago, we got a bill saying the price we were paying was «incorrect» and we are now being charged $ 16/​box more per month. For what? It didn’t even explain. It’s just robbery.
If we ever get FIOS in our neighborhood, I’m switching immediately.

Internet was so spotty for about a month or two– finally had time to call a technician out. Tech doesn’t show up first time– I call and complain; they say they will give me $ 20 credit and will reschedule for the next day right away. The next day they do not show up again. Was assured I would get $ 20 dollars credit and a tech again. Finally tech shows up the next time.
A couple weeks later I check to see my bill. No credits– instead I got charged 40 $ in tech charges. I call to complain– I had no idea I would get charged for this, they never bothered to tell me. All the service rep tells me is that because it was not «comcasts fault» we were getting charged. I’m not sure HOW it’s not– but a warning before sending someone out would have been nice. I also complain of how I got no $ 40 dollars credit– she says nobody sent our credit for approval. Wow… I’m so done with them.

This is a review of the Comcast office, NOT Comcast itself. We all know Comcast deserves negative stars.
I got there before they opened to be first in line. The woman helping me was friendly, professional and seemed genuinely interested in helping me quickly so she could get to the next customer. I’m sure this place is a nightmare during peak hours, but at 8:00 AM is was much more pleasant than I expected.

Comcast is a terrible company.
But the Clarendon service people are OK.
