I have been going to this gym for about 18 mos. I expected it to help me get into shape, but what I DIDN’T expect, was the incredible support of the coach (Lennon) and my (5pm) class. They have all become my best friends and biggest cheerleaders. I have gained so much confidence in my abilities as a person, not just a crossfitter. I cannot say enough good things about this place.

First, there was no advertising anywhere on the building indicating there was a crossfit gym. Second, during the WOD, there is no music… if there is, it’s so quiet you can’t hear it. I had a great, challenging workout, but the environment just was not like the crossfit community I am accustomed to.

I’ve been CrossFitting in Houston for about a year and a half, and anytime I get the chance to drop into a new CrossFit gym, I jump at it like it’s a 20″ box. My best friend is a regular here and has brought me with her a couple of times. The space and classes are both small, but coming from a bigger gym, it was refreshing and a nice change of pace. The owner, Jamie, is really cool and makes you feel totally welcome.
Whether you’re just dropping in for a visit or thinking about joining– do it! You won’t regret it.

I have been attending since April 2012. I was so nervous about trying the workouts after watching some crossfit videos online I thought there is no way I can do that… WRONG. The coaches were nice and welcoming. Any question I had was answered. Even the other members here are great to workout with. Everyone just wants you to get better and are really motivating. I have lost weight, toned up and can tell I am gaining strength everyday. I can’t say enough about this place and how much it has changed my life!

Whenever people hear that I do Crossfit, they say «Oh that’s some kind of cult» followed by some snarky remarks about counting almonds. Crossfit North Arlington is far from a cult. It’s simply a place where people better themselves through the assigned workouts. There’s no macho attitude, there’s no cult-​like behavior or rhetoric, there’s no «if you can’t finish this you’re weak!» The coaches are very willing to scale the workouts and are extremely patient with new people. I was intimidated at first, but Jamie, John, Phil, and Danny have all made me feel like I belong. There’s a ton of positive reinforcement. I really enjoy going to CFNA because WODs (Workout of the Day) are very rarely repeated and there’s a sense of camaraderie among the people that take the classes.
