I made an eyebrow appointment here because my aesthetician from the other salon that I go to was picking up some days here and it is closer to my apartment. A few days before my appointment, the receptionist called to confirm my appointment. On the day of my appointment, I went to the salon and when I got there, there was no receptionist inside. I waited and waited and finally she showed up. She asked who I was seeing and I told here, and she told me that the aesthetician would be right out. I sat there for 10 more minutes and then the receptionist told me that my aesthetician wasn’t even in on that day. Keep in mind, this was after the salon had called me to confirm my appointment a few days before (obviously knowing then that the aesthetician didn’t work there on that day.), and it was after the receptionist checked me in and said she’d be with me in a few. I had to cancel my appointment and reschedule, after I had rushed home after work to make sure I’d be there in time for my appointment, and waited there. The receptionist barely even apologized and just asked, «want to reschedule?» I told her I was very frustrated that no one could have called me to tell me this so I could have rescheduled BEFORE getting there, and rather it was just the opposite and someone called to confirm my appointment. All she said was, «Yeah…I’m sorry.» They did not offer me any credit or anything towards the next appointment. Considering this was my first time at the salon, you’d think they’d try to make it up to me and keep my business.
I went back for my rescheduled appointment but will not be returning. The salon smelled like smoke and the staff (aside from my aesthetician) were not particularly friendly.

I purchased a groupon for a cut and color service, thinking I would be «one & done» at Edge. However, I am now about to book my 3^rd appointment. I can’t say enough good things about Wanda. She did an awesome job translating my ideas from a few pictures and long-​winded description into reality. She was not afraid to follow through with what I wanted, which involved a major chop (over 10″) and color process and even simplified the color process, which saved me time & money. I get so many compliments on my hair and am happy to recommend Wanda & Edge to anyone.

I made my appointment for 1015 on Saturday, showed up beforehand, when I arrived the doors were locked and lights off… obviously not open. So, called to leave a message, and could not even do that, because the inbox was full. So, went next door for a cup of coffee to wait a few more minutes. Finally, about 1045 someone called me to explain that the stylist that was supposed to open had been in a fender bender on I-​495 and would not be in. They could book me with someone else at 3pm later that day… but that would not work for me so I made an appointment for the next Saturday.
The next Saturday I arrived on time, my stylist was running late. I am starting to see a pattern, here. So, she comes over to meet me and brings me to the chair. I don’t think she even told me her name. I had a Groupon for full highlights, cut and style and informed her of that, so she started to work on my hair. While putting in the highlights, she asked if I had had my roots done earlier… and I said, yes, I did them myself. (I color my roots myself to save some money… using professional products from Sally’s. I have done this for many years, and many stylists compliment me on the color.) I told her I did it myself last week just before my original appointment with her. I mentioned that the manager said she was in an accident, etc. she looked at me and said, «I had car trouble»…I told her the manager who opened last week indicated that she had a fender bender… she didn’t respond. Then, she told me that I should get my roots done at the same time that I get highlghts??? I told her that I had planned it that way when I had the appointment the week before, when she had «car trouble». There was no mention of an apology to me about the inconvenience of rescheduling, etc… no attempt to explain anything. I totally understand if you have car trouble, and I was very understanding when I rescheduled the appointment with the manager… these things, happen, right?
now, comes the worst part: the parking meters outside the salon are for only 2 hours. When I asked what time it was, and found out that my time on the meter outside was about 1 minute over already, I told the stylist that I needed to feed the meter. Since some of my hair was still up in clips, because she was blow drying it by this time… I was asking if someone in the salon staff could use my credit card, put another hour on the meter and put the parking slip in the car. She said no I would need to do that myself… so I went outside —WITH HAIR CLIPS AND AN APRON AROUND MY NECK to feed the meter… what a humiliating experience… running outside looking like that to feed the meter. If I had it to do over, I would have just gone home at that point.
My finished hair, looks ok, but she used way too much bleach… and today, the next day, it feels like straw… very dry and damaged.
I will not go here again… there are far too many good salons around here to go back to one that not only has poor results in my hair cut/​style/​highlighting, but has such bad manners and is not helpful at all… horrible experience.

worst hair experience of my life. I went here to get highlights, I have medium brown hair, and I like to get highlights to turn more towards a light brown color, I had highlights in my hair already just needed a little touch up on my roots… ended up leaving with DARK BROWN HAIR. she completely changed my color by selling me on this «toner» service that was allegedly going to make my hair more even looking and ended up making my hair darker than when I walked in there. I could not believe what happened and how the communication had been so lost.

I’ve been to Edge four times. Twice for brow waxes, once for a trim. The waxes had been great, the trim was basic but just what I asked for. I went back last week for my fourth (and FINAL!) appointment there, for a brow/​lip/​brazilian wax and massage. It was the week before my wedding so I kind of went all out, and it was NOT worth it.
Brow: You wouldn’t even know my brows had been waxed a day later. I did tell the technician to leave them thick, but to clean up the bottom and in between my brows. She made me bleed, criticized my natural eyebrows (they’re kind of patchy), and unsolicited in the middle of the wax took out her own personal makeup and started filling in my eyebrows. I was livid. After asking her to stop putting makeup on me and just complete the wax, she seemed miffed.
Lip: Satisfactory at the time, noticed she missed a patch when I got home.
Brazilian: OMG. I’ve had these done before and I’ve never been so miserable. She criticized my hair growth (usually technicians want you to have ¼ to ½ an inch, so I did, and she kept telling me it was «dirty» looking), my skin bled, she squirted copious amounts of MASSAGE OIL on the area to «soothe» my skin post-​wax. She kept all the waxing cloths in a really beat up looking tupperware container and the whole experience felt unsanitary and definitely not worth the $. Also, I explicitly asked her not to wax my behind and she did it anyways. When I got home, I noticed she missed several patches.
Maybe I’m just used to a higher quality spa for waxes like a Brazilian, but I was shocked at the whole experience. I debated walking out almost the entire time I was there, but it was 2 days before my wedding, and I really also just needed to get it done. Either way, I’d avoid this place and this waxer in the future. The quality was really poor and the way I was treated was inexcusable! I should have said so on the spot but really just wanted to get out of there.

I’ve been getting my hair cut at The Edge Salon for over a year. Great location and service. Josh always does a great job. Great music too!

I was looking for local salon since my beloved stylist is in North Carolina. This salon was recommended by a client, boy was it wonderful! I was a little unsure about going to a total stranger, but John was my stylist and he did such an amazing job. I left feeling like I had just paid the normal $ 325 that I pay in North Carolina for $ 90. I highly recommend. John was fab. Cut and color on fleek for sure.

I purchased a Groupon for a facial and set up my appointment. My technician was excellent and personable. I really enjoyed the facial and she even wrote down her recommendation for an exfoliate for me!
They also offered a deal on two additional facials for the price of one, but I was unprepared to dish out another $ 110 for that, so I wish they would just extend it to first time visitors for whenever they book their second and third facials!!! I will still take time to visit again, as I enjoyed it!

My appointment was at 11:30 am on a Sunday, but the doors to the salon didn’t open until about 11:50 am… I stood outside wondering if I had gone to the wrong place. I guess the receptionist never showed up to work that morning…
I got the groupon for a shampoo, cut, style, and full highlights all for $ 67, which was an amazing deal and saved me a lot of $$. I of course brought in a few pics of what I wanted my hair to look like (balayage/​ombré color with bangs) and although my hair does look nice, I can’t confidently say it matches the pictures I brought in very well. I don’t like to complain but I do wish it was closer to what I really wanted.
They gave me a complimentary $ 20 gift card to use on my next visit since I was a first time guest but I have mixed feelings as to whether or not I’ll be back.

I got the Groupon for partial highlights, cut and style. Scheduling the appointment was easy. Whomever I spoke with on the phone was very professional.
I was scheduled with Wanda, and I love what she did with my hair. She listened to what I wanted, repeated it back to me to confirm, and checked in during my visit to make sure I liked what she was doing. She was thorough, and I walked out LOVING my hair. Wanda is really sweet, too. She’s personable, but not too chatty if she knows you want to read or something. She’s friendly and courteous. Talks if you want to, doesn’t if you don’t. Very professional.
The salon itself was clean and spacious. They offer cold water and coffee (and maybe more), which I was glad to sip on as we waited for the color to set :)
The price of the Groupon was $ 69, and since the regular price is around $ 150, I gave her a $ 30 tip. Color, cut, and style for under $ 100? Pretty good! I will probably go back even w/​o Groupon. I highly recommend, especially with Wanda!

Went to Edge for my first time this past weekend.
Parking was a bit of a pain. There is a free garage very close by, but it’s only for 30 mins. I lucked out and found street parking, but it was by one of the old meters that doesn’t accept a card. Luckily I had a couple of bucks on me, so I made change at the closest retail store and rushed back.
You may only tip in cash. I guess this is becoming more of the norm for beauty services, but it gets annoying. If I get a $ 33 pedicure, sure, I usually carry around enough cash on me to tip on that amount ($ 7 or so). But if I’m getting a facial valued at $ 110, I may not have the cash on me. I happened to have it this time, thank goodness. I wish places would remind you of this when you call and make an appointment, whether it may be considered presumptuous to some or not.
They currently have a Groupon for a 60 min. facial ($ 53 vs. $ 110). Great deal. Claire performed my facial and was wonderful. Soft-​spoken (in a good way — since I was relaxing & all), gentle, calming, kind, knowledgeable. The facial was great. I left feeling instantly less stressed and healthier/​cleaner. She also gave me a list of suggested products I may want to try for my face.
Upon leaving, I received a $ 20 off voucher/​gift card (on any service $ 60+) since I was a first timer! So, I will be back… :)

It was my first time here. I used a Groupon. Lisida did my cleansing facial. She took me early. It was relaxing. She complimented me on my skin. She told me I only need to get two facials a year. I definitely would go back.

My excitement about this salon after a positive experience three months ago has now withered away. I was gifted a Groupon here the first time I came here and saw that it was still listed as a Groupon. I called the salon and explained how I understand there is a one per person policy but since I was gifted the first deal and was willing to purchase this one myself and for myself, I asked if the salon accept it. The receptionist assured me yes and said it wouldn’t be a problem at all. So I made an appointment for cut & partial highlights for that upcoming Friday.
When I walked in for my appointment and checked in at the front desk I restated that I was there with a Groupon deal so she was fully aware. She nodded and told me that my stylist was running a little behind and would be with me shortly. I told her who she just mentioned was not who I was scheduled with. She quickly corrected herself however there was all this fuss over it for a while (with whispers and comments) after my appointment started which made me feel uncomfortable. Minus the fact that I felt my appointment was rushed and that the products/​hair dryer that was used sucked moisture out of my hair, I was pleased with how my cut & color turned out.
The situation that has caused me to decide I won’t return was went I went up to the front desk to present my voucher. My stylist tells me that they decided they won’t honor the Groupon and I have to pay full price — which is DOUBLE what I was planning on spending with the voucher. The stylist adds, «Do you know how much we get with the Groupon deal? Nothing.» (Then why offer it in the first place?) If you, the stylist, had a problem with the Groupon being used and wouldn’t accept it — don’t tell me AFTER you’ve already done the service. If she had told me before my appointment that she felt that why then I could have decided for myself whether or not to hold the appointment. Plus, I don’t feel that I was «taking up their time for little compensation» as the stylist stated, since it was only myself and one other person being taken care of when I was there plus one coming in. The receptionist decided to escalate the matter and she called one of the managers. I was a little upset by the fact that she described the encounter to them as «there is a fight going on.» Not that I disagree with that statement but in front of the person coming in and another stylist. It was embarrassing. After she explains the situation to her, including «she told her this after service» which sounded more/​less in my camp, my stylist ends up taking the phone from her and walks away with the phone. A couple minutes later, she comes back saying that they’re going to do as the stylist had originally said and I need to pay full price. I resentfully do. I ended up telling my friend that I recommended the salon to after my first visit here about what had just happened to find that she too experienced a very similar situation where she was told one thing at booking/​arriving and then told another at checkout which caused her to pay more out of pocket, which she wasn’t planning on.
Following this stressful encounter with the salon, I left the salon feeling ripped off and insulted. Or, you could say, I left the salon on EDGE.
*Note: I called the salon two days later after cooling off and asked to speak with the manager about my experience. She called me back two days after that offering what they called an explanation of how they can’t predict gray area cases like this from happening. They offered me a $ 25 gift certificate… towards my next purchase of $ 65 or more. Essentially, I have to pay more to get «something» back? Yeah, right. So, for the record, I did give the salon/​management the opportunity to redeem themselves before I moved forward in posting this review.

I can’t actually rate their salon services but I will share my experience.
I bought a groupon for highlights and cut and I wanted my base color done too. I called and got a same day appointment for 2:15. At 12:30, the receptionist calls and asks if I can come in at 1 instead. I head over and make it by 1. The salon was empty– I didn’t see one other customer and it was a weekend. I started to get suspicious. My stylist, Wanda, introduces herself but wasn’t super friendly. I showed her photos of what I wanted– she gave me a lot of hmmmm, then asked me what kind of color was already in my hair– I said I don’t know what brand of dye my last salon used– and really what does it matter? A professional should be able to color over previously dyed hair. It didn’t really seem like Wanda wanted to do what I wanted but we settled on a brown with reddish highlights and she went to mix up the color. Twenty five minutes later I was sill sitting there and I got up to find Wanda– she was outside smoking a cigarette. Now I don’t mind if a stylist wants a smoke but can you at least get my color started first? I went to talk to the front desk person because I wasn’t having a great experience and was getting uneasy about letting this person who was not acting in a professional manner cut or color my hair. The front desk was empty. I just grabbed my purse and left. I hope groupon will issue me a refund because I would not go back and give this salon a second chance.
Also– the salon itself is dirty, wand as station was not clean– bottles toppled over, scissors weren’t in solution, hair was on the floor.

I came here with a Groupon for one cut, highlights and style.
I’m tempted to give 2 stars but my stylist, Wonda, was friendly.
My appointment was at 3:30 p.m. but I was not seen until 3:50 p.m.
I’m not sure if this was an issue with overbooking or bad time management from the stylist.
I was offered water.
Foiling for my highlights took longer than they have for other places, but I was very happy with the color, natural honey/​auburn looking.
The cut was simple because I just wanted a trim and reshaping of my layers. I have long, thick hair so I always expect my salon visits to take about 2 hours. By the time she was done blow drying my hair it was about 6:30.
I never expect to be at a salon for that long. I also wasn’t wowed with the blow-​dry/​styling either. I had to ask her to redo the crown portion because it looked like a blow dry job I would do at home.
Overall, it wasn’t a horrible experience, but they didn’t win me over to be a regular customer.

This would have been my first time trying Edge salon. I purchased a groupon for cut, partial highlights and blow dry and was looking forward to the appointment all day. I was originally told over the phone that depending on hair length, there may be an additional charge. Once there I was told it would be $ 40 extra. That would have brought the amount to what I normally pay at Blown, which I love but they’re often quite busy and you need to schedule in advance.
I primarily wanted the highlights and said I would forego the haircut. The manager offered only the highlights with no cut or blow dry for the groupon paid amount. Needless to say I walked. Who wants to walk out of a salon with wet hair?
Both the manager and stylist were polite and professional, but isn’t the point of a groupon to try a new establishment at a discount so they are able to strum up business?

Just an update-I’m addicted to Edge! Mayra has done an amazing job with my hair time and time again plus the staff is just soooo friendly that my experience every single time just can’t be beat!!! If I could afford a weekly blowout there I would and at this point I’m never going anywhere else! You will step out of that place looking and feeling amazing! Thanks Edge for your wonderful service!

Went here for a Groupon that I received as a gift that included a massage, manicure and pedicure. Was so happy I did! Liseta did a great job on all three services. No skimping here because it was a Groupon. When I was done, they gave me a $ 20.00 coupon for my next service, as I was a new client. Looking forward to another relaxing trip back!
The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 was because I had to wait 25 minutes for my appointment.

I bought a groupon for edge for a hair cut & highlights.
I went in today and Jessi was my stylist. SHE’S AWESOME! So nice & funny.
I hadn’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. She took me from dark to light ombré with bayalage highlights. I absolutely love it!
It did cost me an extra $ 60 because my hair is really thick and long, and she also used a toner so it wouldn’t turn out brassy. She put in so much time and detail into making sure my hair was great.
I didn’t get much cut off because I like my length, but she did a new side part (which I love) and made sure I wanted my layers cut short, which she could tell I’d had with my previous haircuts (which I do prefer).
It started snowing really really bad a few minutes after I got there. Jessi said she was worried about getting home (I was too, it was crazy!), but she didn’t make me feel rushed or bad for keeping her there.
When I was all blow dried out, she made sure I was happy with the tone of my hair, and said that it can kinda be a shock going from so dark to so light, and that she can make me darker or lighter if I want to later.
I have been wanting to do a hair color like this for years, but was always too chicken to really do it. Now that I have I’ll definitely be coming back to Jessi for touch ups!
I saw Mayra, Callie, and Josh all doing multiple clients while I was there, and everyone seemed very happy with their finished looks.
I highly recommend Jessi & the spa in general!
