Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. So here is what we got: Beef fried rice Singapore chow mai fun Shrimp with cashew nuts Lemon chicken The food was absolutely horrible, especially the fried rice. For some reason the beef had a bitter after taste, almost like soap. It was just those pieces of bitter beef, yellow tinged rice and a few squares of onions(no egg, carrots or peas). The lemon chicken was overfried as well. We had it delivered and there order was on time… but that is the only thing that they did correctly. Avoid ordering from this palce

Not horrible food but for me I don’t care for the really thick doughy spring rolls. Service was good and quick though.

So this place was 1 of 2 Chinese delivery joints my family would order from(up through my high school years)… and for the first time in years I ordered: Gen Tso Chicken, Shrimp fried Rice, and dumplings. The delivery guy showed up on time, they got the order right, the prices are good, and we ate all the food, so why the 3 stars? The food has changed. To elaborate, the Gen Tso Chicken was largely comprised of breading, has less meat than other places, and not very succulent. The Shrimp Fried Rice is no longer cooked with corn, carrots, peas, soy sauce, or egg. Although the amount of shrimp was plentiful. The dumplings are a little low on meat and aren’t too memorable but did satisfy my cravings. All and all, the food was average, delivered in 30 min and cost less than $ 30. The next time I order Chinese I don’t think i’ll order from here again, unless I want to save a few bucks.

Tried this again at the urging of my kids. My nanny gets Combination Mai Fun for them here, and they love it. My second experience here was marginally better than the first, so I’m bumping it up one notch. This time I combed through the positive Unilocal reviews to figure out what dishes are good here. Recommendations seemed to be the Ta-chien chicken, the fried rice, the beef broccoli and the shrimp rolls. They didn’t have any shrimp rolls prepared, and we’re not big on rice, so we skipped those. We ordered the Ta-chien chicken, beef broccoli, Mai Fun, healthy menu chicken broccoli and the Spicy Noodle Soup. High points: kids love the Mai Fun(personally, I’m indifferent), the spicy noodle soup is a winner, and the healthy menu chicken broccoli is pretty good. Low points: Unfortunately, we just did not like the Ta-chien chicken. The meat was dried out and chewy, the broccoli was undercooked and the sauce was too sweet. Did not like the beef broccoli either. Too light on sauce, and the broccoli was undercooked. And we noticed that the sliced meat – whether chicken or beef – in almost any dish is rubbery and chewy. The unusual exception to this is the healthy menu chicken broccoli, in which the meat is good(and the broccoli is even cooked about right). I recommend sticking with the shrimp. So all in all, still a mixed experience, but there are a few good items here.

A mixed bag from home delivering through the Unilocal Eat24 app I ordered Peking Duck Rolls, Hot and Sour Soup, and General Tso’s chicken. The duck and chicken were recommended. The restaurant and the soup is my bellwether dish for any Chinese restaurant. Delivery was fast, well under the promised 45 minutes, The chicken was hot, the soup was warm, and the duck rolls were cold. That’s OK about the rolls. The Chicken was good though they missed my request to make it spicy. The duck rolls were… OK and a bit over sauced. I poured the thin and foul tasting soup down the drain after a couple sips. I’ll definitely use the Eat24 app again and maybe even order from this place. But I’m sure going to stay away from the soup and duck rolls.

They must use a ton of MSG because I had a bad reaction like I get from large amounts of MSG after eating there. I will say though that if you don’t mind MSG, this take out joint will do for standard Chinese food. The taste was fairly good.

Seriously? I ordered chicken fried rice. The chicken was like rubbery gross soft chewy pieces of garbage. This place used to be decent too and apparently has just gone to crap. No way I’m ordering from them again. DISGUSTING

Exactly what you’d expect from a hole in the wall takeout Chinese place… but my fiancé and I really like it. Don’t know that we’d go out of our way(we live across the street) but its not overly greasy and we like a lot of the dishes. I do find that the chicken tastes a bit rubbery in dishes like chicken and broccoli but we enjoy the noodle dishes, soups, steamed dumplings, and General Tsos.

Great carry-out food. They are quick and hospitable. I’ve ordered from them several times and have never been disappointed.

I’m gluten-free. That means, no doughnuts. No bagels. No pasta. No toast. No pie. No cake. No pizza. No pancakes. No waffles. No soy sauce. No beer. Definitely no shrimp rolls. Basically, anything that tastes delicious, forget about it. After several unsuccessful attempts to go truly gluten-free, I haven’t cheated in two years. I’d been tempted, believe me, but I managed to stay true. When I relocated back to NOVA last winter, after living in Southern Arizona for six years, old memories of the delicious magical shrimp rolls from Grand Hunan began dancing in my dreams. That crispy, crunchy shell, those tiny little shrimpettes, that shredded cooked cabbage?(not sure what the filling is, but it’s good), all came tumbling back into my mind. I’d pass by quite frequently, with longing in my heart and yearning in my soul. It took one particularly stressful week and I sought refuge in an order of four of these perfect, delicious tasty delights. I haven’t come to regret it. Nope, not at all. And I’ve been back for more. So, take it from me, GFree, if you like shrimp rolls, these go the distance and take away all of your stresses and worries. Now I can say I’m gluten free except for shrimp rolls. ;) Hey, no one’s perfect.

Revolting! I ordered chicken lo mein and the texture/shape of the«chicken» pieces was downright scary. I’ll never order from them again. It’s a shame, I had their food a couple of years ago and it wasn’t half bad then.

We ordered two dishes for delivery, beef lo-mein and general tso’s chicken. These two are probably the most popular dishes to order when you order from a Chinese take out place, which means, the chefs should have nailed both. The lo-mein wasn’t bad, nothing to complain about. What bothered me was the general tso’s chicken. I’ve never eaten such small pieces of general tso’s chicken in my entire life. What I ate was general tso’s BREADING, not chicken. Each piece I had was maybe 80% breading and sauce and 20% meat. I do not appreciate restaurants scamming their customers by charging them for chicken but selling them fried breading. I would go elsewhere if you’re craving general tso’s chicken.

The number of «best Chinese food» comments scare me. Really?! The BEST Chinese you’ve ever had?! What restaurants are you using to compare this place to? They are on par with similar takeout/delivery Chinese joints, lots of oil in the cooking, celery/carrots/bamboo fillers, — serves the purpose if you are craving meh Chinese food.

We got delivery from here. It was timely and hot. But one of our two dishes was a chicken entrée. It was horrible. I really hope they accidentally sent tofu instead because that was really bad.

Great food! Fast service! Not Pricy! Every time I order from here the food is always good no matter what I get. Personal fav. is the Fried rice, any combination.

I’ve been a fairly regular customer for about two years now, ordering once every couple of months. The good news? It’s cheap run of the mill Chinese food that’s perfect of the one night you«need» Chinese food. That’s what it gets stars for. With that being said, I’m writing this review after ordering my last meal with them. I have serious concerns with the food quality… My Kung Pao chicken smelled so strongly of ammonia this evening that it burned my nose and caused me to tear up. Google suggests meats only smell like this when they start to break down and ferment.

I think I’m too spoiled by authentic Chinese food but everything was kind bland yet I felt like I ate a ton of salt. Just to clarify, this is not a restaurant, it’s a carry-out. For anyone interested, Grand Hunan is on GrubHub — good deal for those looking for quick eats. I’ll be skipping on the take-out from here(the universe is telling me to put the fork down).

Food was excellent, but customer service was so-so. The driver called me when he was nearby but because he had a very thick accent, I couldn’t understand anything he was saying. I just assumed he was saying he was outside and I said okay and walked out, and sure enough he was… but man, I couldn’t understand the guy at all, even when I talked to him in person outside. The fries are surprisingly good and the beef with broccoli was fantastic. I’ll order from them again but I might just go pick it up to avoid something like this again.

General tsos chicken is delicious. Everything else i’ve had is only slightly above average. Still, my go-to take out place in the area.
