I’ve just had the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life in a medical office. Dr. Guidi evidently hates women & has a God Complex where no patient should show up with MRI results in hand — to this monster it is apparently an incidendiary device. I have a shoulder injury and I made an appointment with Dr. Guidi & had it cancelled the evening before the appointment. A MONTH LATER — after going to a physiatrist & literally begging for an MRI, I learned I had an insertional tear of the supraspinatus — from the anterior & posterior supraspinatos tendon fibers, along with a SLAP tear of the Labrum resulting in Tendinosis, joint effusion with debris & synovitis in the axially joint recess — and tenosynovitis. This arrogant doctor kept me waiting for over an hour. When he finally entered the room, he said asked me what has been going on? When I tried to answer he abruptly interrupted me & told me he didn’t want to know the history of a car accident that I thought might have contributed to this — or the fact that I had taken levofloxacin that is known to cause tendon ruptures in the shoulders & achilles tendons! (BTW — I should NOTE I saw his colleague Dr Ochiai for the initial injury a year ago who REFUSED to order MRIs of my shoulder or my knee, and informed me I needed a knee replacement –which another knee guy told me that was an extreme response to a severe sprain & tear injury). Dr Guidi then launched into what can only be called a profanity laden attack on my seeing a physiatrist to beg for an MRI. He told me — I don’t give a fg rat’s ass about your MRI, if you want to know the results of it — go back to the physiatrist who ordered it — I’m not going to even look at it! AND HE DID NOT READ THE MRI during the meeting. A GOOD DOCTOR WOULD HAVE read the MRI & made some effort for pain relief & treatment until further tests could be done. He told me I could find another doctor or go back to that physiatrist because he blankety blank blank blank wasn’t that kind of doctor to read an MRI ordered by a physiatrist@!! (more cursing). This was the FIRST TIME I EVER SAW THIS man! He spoke to me so harshly & disrespectfully — within less than seconds of stepping in the room — «I ask the questions — & you answer them». Well I didn’t get a chance TO! He Is the rudest crassest person I think I’ve ever encountered anywhere. His arrogance was outrageous! Then he wanted me to have XRAYS — without his reading the MRI — to PAD his expenses for an in office visit. This is a soft tissue Injury & he knew it because I told him what the MRI said — with him interrupting me the entire time! My exit strategy was to to get a prescription for the X-​rays to be done by the hospital — as I had an appointment I was late for due them being so late in seeing me — (truthfully it was also that I wanted A RADIOLOGIST to read them, who does not have a conflict of interest, which obviously this horrible man has). I would not let this Revolting person touch me — if he treated me with this much disrespect to use profanity & to attack me for getting an MRI by a physiatrist when he cancelled his appointment at the last moment, kept me waiting a month & then — over an hour in his office — HOW COULD ANY PERSON TRUST HIM WITH A KNIFE? I left there paying for a visit where I was attacked with profanity & disrespect where I got NO MEDICAL intervention AT ALL. I would say he should be ashamed — But Narcissistic sociopaths like him don’t feel shame or remorse! I thought his colleague Dr. Ochiai was pretty terrible — but I have to say — this guy tops any horrible person I’ve ever encountered after 30 years in banking & believe me I encountered thousands. Truly Horrible man. If you want medical care — go to a doctor who has respect for you & doesn’t attack you for seeing another doctor out of desperation — when he cancels on you at the last minute. AVOID NIRCHL ORTHOPAEDICS. I loved Dr. Nirschl when I was younger & took my high schoolers to him for soccer injuries — but he sure has chosen some horrible people to be his in office colleagues. As a person with brothers, sister, dad & children as physicians — I’m clear profanity does not belong in a medical office — especially when there was ZERO provocation — I didn’t have TIME to provoke — he was horrified that someone ordered an MRI that he didn’t! You know the difference between you & God Dr. Guidi? God doesn’t pretend to be a doctor! I fully intend to report my experience to the Virginia Bureau of Medicine — because I feel this man is a medical MENACE!

This man is a miracle worker. Absolutely tops in his craft. I have suffered pain in several different areas — heel, shoulder, back — and every time Dr Guidi has taken a methodical and prudent approach to healing. My rotator cuff surgery was difficult but so little pain afterwards. Same with the bicept repair surgery. I have just had a platelets injection to help heal my plantar faciitis. He has had great success with this treatment. His pleasant demeanor and interest in each patient is sincere. He doesn’t rush. He takes time to explain everything. His PT unit is on the same floor and I have tried many other PT groups but this one is truly amazing. I know many people who are his patients, several recommended him when I was looking for a good orthopedist. I understand the practice has many top doctors. His staff is also excellent. I wish I didn’t need an orthopedist, but I do. Dr Guidi is truly great. I enthusiastically recommend him.

I’ve seen Dr. Guidi for a couple of issues (knee pain and tendon issues in the arm). Dr. Guidi takes the mystery out of treatment — he goes to great detail to explain (in fairly underrstandable terms) what is causing the problem, and what needs to happen for the problem to go away. In both cases he’s prescribed physical therapy that has done the trick (after some time and effort). My only regret is not going to him sooner.

I have been a patient of Dr. Guidi’s for 10 plus years, seeing him for various sports injuries. I incurred a meniscal tear about a year and half ago (my first joint issue) and discovered through an MRI that I had arthritic changes and reduced cartilage in my knee. I was having pain under my knee cap because of this… the meniscus tear was small and not very noticeable to me. Dr. Guidi suggested Hyalgen injections which are natural synovial fluid that provides an increased cushion between the bones and it worked like a charm. The tear got worse so I decided to have arthroscopic surgery. Two and a half months post surgery I am pain free.
I cannot say enough about Dr. Guidi and his staff. He has incredible bedside manner and you cannot find a more competent orthopedic surgeon. The group has a rehab facility across the hall from the office and they are great.
If you are seeking the comfort of knowing that you are in good hands, I would highly recommend Dr. Guidi as your orthopedic surgeon/​sports medicine physician!
