I came in to get an estimate on what it would possibly take to let out a beautiful dress I loved a few inches at the bust (lucky me!).
The woman behind the desk spoke very little English, and didn’t seem to understand what I was asking. After asking me to try the dress on, she then proceeded (without my permission) to begin cutting it up and sticking pins in! She sliced the dress completely down the back, when a small adjustment in the chest (I used to help sew costumes, and now regret not just doing the job myself) would have been perfect.
She then had the audacity to say it would be $ 100 to fix what she had already done. My dress was ruined. No way in hell I would let her touch it again, much less pay her. I could have cried. Or punched her. But the best I can do now is warn anyone away from that business — if you have a garment you love, take it and run as far as you can.
